It's fine for CoD to get pulled from Day One. Tying sales directly to reception is better for both MS and gamers if you actually want good games.
Huh? Aren't you mixing them up with the studio that's laid off a ton of people, had its first-party studios churn out one bad game after another, can barely ship titles anymore, got abandoned by Kojima too, and has the worst reputation going?
In that case, wouldn't it be better for MS and gamers alike to pull other titles from Day One too, so sales reflect quality directly? 🤔
CoD's budget is too high — either Day One numbers drop or prices go up. Do your homework.
They spent a fortune on the Activision Blizzard buyout, fought a whole legal battle over it, and what came out was some of the series' worst sales and reviews ever — makes sense they'd decide it doesn't need to stay in the flagship service anymore. MW4 got announced online right before the Showcase, and the closing surprise slot at the Showcase went to a third-party game instead. Meanwhile Blizzard's next game is still three years out and they've already started promoting it.

By that logic, if there's an extra Day One announcement at TGS, this whole rumor was bogus.
Thinking about it more, if this leak is accurate, that basically confirms P6's release date.
According to Windows Central, Microsoft recently gave up on integrating Steam, Epic, and other storefronts into Helix. The hardware will launch at PC pricing. Asha Sharma said Helix will play PC games, but without those stores. This isn't the living-room Steam Deck a lot of people were picturing.
Looked into it and it was just flat-out false. Don't go scaring people like that.

No way it's not Day One when it's labeled with Game Pass before release. MW4 is joining Game Pass a year after launch and doesn't get that label at all.
Wo Long 2 is coming out in March too.
