Remake Footage of the Original Persona Leaks — 5ch: “Elly got sexier, nice”

From our other sites

The story

A link to footage claimed to be a remake of the original Revelations: Persona was posted on 5ch’s Hardware/Industry (Geha) board. Commenters noted the battle scenes resemble Persona 5, while the field screens look closer to Persona 3 Reload, and the redesign of the character Elly also became a talking point. Opinions in the thread split over whether this is a genuine internal demo or an elaborate fan-made or AI-generated fake, and the discussion expanded into comparisons with past leak controversies involving Atlus titles.

Elly went from an unattractive character design to sexy — nice.
4AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:17
Leaked again? Sega gets leaked way too much — happened with P3R, happened with Like a Dragon (Yakuza) too.
5AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:17
Grandpa, what ever happened to the PSP version?

Re: #5
"The battle vocals are annoying, make them change it"
Devs: "Nah, lol"
7AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:18
1's story is boring so I'm skipping it. If they remake 2 though, I'm in.
8AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:19
Second time this leaked? Forget that, just bundle up 2 (Innocent Sin/Eternal Punishment) and remake it already.
9AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:19
Leaks nonstop, lol. What's going on with this company?
11AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:20
The protagonist from 1 is a 30-year-old character design and it still doesn't feel out of place.
14AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:22
Remake Megami Tensei 1 already!!
17AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:24
Sorry but nah, this one's no good — it wrecks the atmosphere.
22AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:28
Re: #17
It's a pretty busy, modern-style remake. Guess they're trying to pull in new fans.

I'd also love a version that's just the original with a drastically improved UI, though.

Why's Chin-yan in there? (fan nickname for a Persona 2 character)
19AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:26
Re: #18
There's a lot of speculation, but it's probably a placeholder character since they're developing it alongside 2 (Persona 2) — or maybe it's a guest appearance.
20AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:26
Battles are from 5, fields are from the 3 remake — this is definitely AI.
23AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:29
The UI shown is Unreal Engine's, and Elly's animations are literally Yukiko's from P4R reused as-is — people are saying this might be footage of an internal prototype.

Re: #23
It doesn't have the garbled-text giveaways typical of fakes made by overseas creators, and parts obviously use placeholder assets, so it feels like an internal demo.
24AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:29
Could a fan project really hit this level of quality? It doesn't look like an AI video either.

Is this the real deal?
26AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:31
Re: #24
Leaning heavily toward real. Hardly any overseas fans doubting it either.
25AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:30
If this is fan-made or AI, isn't the quality way too high?
28AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:33
So stuff like this gets made in Japan too, huh.

Re: #31
What year is this image even from?
32AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:35
Unlike Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, credit where it's due for actually reviving this series properly.
33AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:36
I actually got a Macromill survey the other day with this exact footage attached.
35AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:38
I kept seeing posts on X about young women who played 3 through 5 and got interested in 1 and 2 — but there was no way for them to actually play those.
36AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:39
Here comes the usual "this would be impossible on the Switch 2."
46AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:48
Re: #36
Atlus games have trash-tier graphics anyway, so the Switch is more than enough.
37AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:40
The character designs from 1 and 2 really are the best. Since it's unofficial I'm not buying it wholesale, but I bet they're actually making something.
40AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:46
Quit it, this is gonna tank the used PSP prices.
41AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:46
Atlus had that "Midori" leaker who was leaking nonstop. Haven't seen them lately — did they disappear?
43AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:47
Re: #41
Probably got silenced.
45AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:47
Re: #41
Apparently that guy got doxxed.
47AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:49
Re: #41
That guy was a legit leaker. Impressive that he even called Metaphor, Persona 6, and the Switch 2.
42AnonymousNov 1, 2026 09:46
I loved the quarter-view battles, so this just isn't it for me.
50AnonymousNov 1, 2026 10:01
If this is real, Atlus's dev lineup really is wall-to-wall Persona… after using the Innocent Sin/Eternal Punishment remake (Persona 2) as a bridge to Persona 7 or 8, what work is even left to hand to anyone outside Katsura's team?
51AnonymousNov 1, 2026 10:06
Re: #50
Both the P3 and P4 remakes (Reload) were made by Toose, so this is probably Toose too. Atlus doesn't even have an in-house dev department for this kind of thing.

Leaking it doesn't really change much in the end. Devil Summoner: Raidou got hyped like crazy when it leaked too, but it faded into obscurity right after release.
104AnonymousNov 1, 2026 12:08
Re: #101
Don't compare Raidou to Persona.

Background and Key Points of the Discussion

What’s generating buzz here isn’t an official announcement but footage of unknown origin that leaked online. The thread title says “confirmed,” but neither Atlus nor Sega has made any formal announcement, so readers should be careful not to mistake this for confirmed fact — it remains unverified for now. There is precedent for this: footage from the Persona 3 Reload and Like a Dragon (Yakuza) remakes has leaked online before release in the past, and commenters suggest this footage may have surfaced through a similar route. The thread was split mainly over two questions: whether the footage is a genuine internal demo or a well-made fan creation or AI-generated fake, and whether the character redesigns are a welcome update or a betrayal of the original’s atmosphere.
