Watching Showa-retro exploration videos on YouTube is honestly more fun than watching Peace-kun from Omiya Park (a local mascot character).

Like that guy Tanaka from Gaki no Tsukai (Downtown's long-running variety show)?
4AnonymousNov 1, 2026 22:44
Guess he can't be bothered putting up with Matsumoto anymore.

"Mori-ossan, choi-choi, kiri-kiri-mai" (a string of joking nonsense syllables, apparently mimicking mumbled song lyrics)
20AnonymousNov 1, 2026 22:56
The break between the first and second sets is short, so how long is the actual main set, I wonder?
32AnonymousNov 1, 2026 23:12
Re: #20
Probably about an hour.

Re: #20
Yeah, that is short. Maybe it's basically a karaoke session?

Stars shining so bright, forever beyond our reach —
please, keep wrapping us in your light, we who are far too weak

At Billboard Live venues you can actually get pretty close to the performers, but even though the show's only about an hour, the ticket prices are steep lol.
The food, dessert, and drinks are pricey too, but they're tasty.

He's completely cut his partner Matsumoto Hitoshi loose, lol.
Well, I guess you'd want to cut ties with a guy facing sexual misconduct allegations like that.
26AnonymousNov 1, 2026 23:02
Theory: nobody actually knows what he's saying in the fast-talking bit right after "Hey Hey Hey, sometimes you gotta start a movement" (from WOW WAR TONIGHT).

Feels like he's really following in Noritake's footsteps (Kinoshita Noritake of Tunnels, who also does live music/art performances).

Re: #27
He hasn't done anything besides "Kuishinbo Banzai" lol (the TV show Noritake hosts).
36AnonymousNov 1, 2026 23:15
Where's he even headed with this…
Still, it makes sense his son clearly inherited his blood.
Maybe they're actually a musical family after all?

"This will be Hamada's first time performing on a Billboard Live stage"

Well, obviously, lol
That's a weird way to open the article, lol

I love early Doshima Kohei, back when he felt like the last gasp of the Shibuya-kei scene.

Hamada's actually got real talent as a vocalist.
47AnonymousNov 1, 2026 23:36
Didn't know Doshima does all kinds of different work.
49AnonymousNov 1, 2026 23:40
Kind of feel bad for Hamada, he's got way too many dependents to support.
Though I guess it's fine if he himself is okay with it.
50AnonymousNov 1, 2026 23:41
Doshima's wild — surviving in the industry from age 18 to 50 on basically just "Katsushika Rhapsody" and KinKi Kids.
55AnonymousNov 1, 2026 23:45
So he's doing this for his unsuccessful entourage, lol
57AnonymousNov 1, 2026 23:46
I've watched him myself, and while he's not great at acting or singing, he's got character and presence.

He must be confident
Bold pricing.

Background and Key Points of This Topic

Billboard Live is a small, seated live-house format where shows often come with food and drink, which tends to push ticket prices higher than a typical concert. The ¥28,400 DX seat (sold as a pair) that got people talking on the thread reflects that format’s typical price range. The split in opinions over his singing ability comes down to differing reactions to the very idea of a comedian seriously taking on vocals with a full band. Notably, his comedy partner Matsumoto Hitoshi is not among this show’s performers. Since the sexual misconduct allegations against Matsumoto were reported in 2024, opportunities for the two to appear together in public have dropped off sharply — which appears to be one reason the thread’s conversation drifted toward that topic.
