The story
A novelist’s post on X — “It’s understandable that Juice=Juice appears on music shows, but if Kawanishi Yuina were featured based purely on how good her singing is, she’d surely captivate everyone” — became a hot topic on a Hello! Project-focused thread. Kawanishi Yuina is a member of Juice=Juice, a Hello! Project group. The post drew pushback (“who are you to call it ‘understandable’”), and it also reignited old grudges over how Juice=Juice and Tsubaki Factory were formed, member transfers between the two, and the long-running friction between their fanbases — turning into a debate that went well beyond the original post.
What people said
Right now, it's understandable that Juice=Juice members appear on music shows, but if Kawanishi Yuina were given a spot on a music show based purely on how good her singing is, I'm sure she'd captivate everyone…
Beverly got the biggest reaction, so it's probably someone with amazing high notes.
Being able to sing 'FACES PLACES' is impressive.
Yeah, I've thought that for a while too.
It goes back to when Tsubaki's original members Asakura and Tanimoto were originally supposed to join Juice=Juice, but when Miyamoto's move to Morning Musume. fell through, Tsubaki Factory got thrown together in a hurry instead — that's where the bad blood started.
If you've got a complaint, take it up with Kohira and Nishiguchi.
Those two are the ones who crushed Little Glamers' dream of joining Juice=Juice.
That joint audition was blatantly rigged just to prop Tsubaki back up.
It's ironic that 3rd Flower — a group Little Glamers fans supposedly looked down on — ended up doing better.
That's way off base. Juice=Juice never had a regular SKY PerfecTV! slot or a regular radio show. Tsubaki even had a live band backing them before Juice did. Every good Takui-composed song that Hello! Project fans love went exclusively to Tsubaki.
Tsubaki was the one with the privileged setup. Juice=Juice just clawed its way up from nothing.
I haven't forgotten how Little Glamers fans used to trash 3rd Flower nonstop.
It just looked like blatant favoritism to me.
Can't help it, she's just ridiculously good. Reiruru can't compete with that.
Lately she's weirdly started getting deified though.
That's clearly jealousy toward Juice=Juice. Same kind of jealousy Riki Choshu had toward Tatsumi Fujinami.
The jealousy is just oozing out of you.
And that 'mediocre' Juice=Juice is still above Tsubaki lol
They had a weekly headline show and still couldn't captivate everyone, so the show got cancelled lol
So you're saying, 'We were supposed to be backing the winning horse!'?
That didn't make it any clearer.
Right. Up until about a year ago, Juice=Juice — even scrutinized closely — was so unpopular with Hello! Project fans that they kept playing to a half-empty Budokan over and over, and even hid the attendance numbers by not announcing them. There's no way a group like that suddenly captivates everyone just from more TV time.
Well put.
And you think Tsubaki — whose graduation concerts can't even fill the venue — could captivate everyone?
It's probably because Juice=Juice flipped the pecking order on them. Tsubaki went off the rails the same way when BEYOOOOONDS broke the pecking order too.
It was written right there on the burner account.
BEYOOOOONDS got a premium concert right after debut.
Tsubaki didn't get their first premium concert until their 4th year.
On Love Music, other Hello! Project members got cast into Tsubaki's part.
What's that about?
Did they do something wrong?
Yeah, they did, didn't they? Even after her boyfriend scandal got exposed, she's still in contact with a guy.
Onoda? Ran off using a herniated disc as her excuse.
Togawa got kicked out — selfish, self-centered.
Asakura? That's punishment, right?
Even in terms of pecking order, Tsubaki was below them from the start, wasn't it. This happens because the fans who looked down on Juice during its slump never updated their mindset.
Do you even know what 'pecking order' means? Tsubaki was below them from the start?? Come back once you've learned what it actually means.
Re: #133 this guy's an idiot lol

Background and Points of Contention
Juice=Juice and Tsubaki Factory are both Hello! Project groups, and the thread repeatedly circles back to how their formation histories are intertwined. Members such as Juju Asakura and Ami Tanimoto were reportedly originally expected to join Juice=Juice, but when Karin Miyamoto’s planned move to Morning Musume.’14 fell through, Tsubaki Factory was hastily formed instead — this has long been cited as the starting point of the rivalry between the two groups’ fanbases. The thread also repeatedly brings up claims that many former members of ‘Little Glamers’ had hoped to join Juice=Juice. That said, these are accounts that have circulated among fans over time, and it’s worth noting they’re distinct from any officially confirmed account of events. What divided the thread wasn’t so much Kawanishi Yuina’s own merits, but rather the question of “which group delivered results under tougher conditions” — differing interpretations of past broadcast opportunities and shifts in member popularity fueled the disagreement.
