The story

It has been announced that Morning Musume ’26’s Oda Sakura graduation concert (December 11, Yokohama Arena) will be exclusively broadcast live on CS TV Asahi Channel 1. In recent years, many Hello! Project specials have aired on Hulu instead, leaving no shortage of fans frustrated that they couldn’t record them. With this concert returning to a TV Asahi broadcast, the thread lit up with welcoming comments like “finally something I can record” and “long live SKY PerfecTV!,” while Juice=Juice and Angerme remain largely stuck with Hulu/streaming-only coverage — sparking discussion about the differing treatment between groups.

Graduation concert "exclusive live broadcast" — confirmed!!
3AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:03
Whoever brought Hulu into this has completely jumped ship to Juice=Juice.
5AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:04
Already the December announcement? Meanwhile Tsubaki's was cutting it so close.
7AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:05
Maybe there'll be a graduation special later too — probably Oda sitting down one-on-one with each member or something.
9AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:07
Guess it's now crystal clear: if you're not selling, you get stuck on SKY PerfecTV.
10AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:07
Nice, now I can record my favorite 18th-gen senpai.
33AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:30
Been waiting for this! Just NOT being on Hulu is honestly a blessing.

Re: #10
For the tour it's not the full show right now, but I really hope the graduation concert gets the full broadcast.
11AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:09
So does that mean Juice=Juice and Angerme are stuck on Hulu, then?
12AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:10
Re: #11
Angerme's is streamed through Up-Front (their own agency's platform).
14AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:11
How do you even watch CS channels in the first place?
15AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:11
Long live SKY PerfecTV! Now I can actually watch Oda-chan's final moment! I'm stuck watching from home so I'd already given up, figuring it'd be Hulu-only!
16AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:12
Juice=Juice is in the middle of a Hulu special right now, so theirs will probably be Hulu too — but the real question is whether the Budokan show, where they're expected to debut a new song, gets streamed at all. Also, looks like it's now basically confirmed that Beyooooonds' Budokan show and Angerme's PIA Arena show — both happening before Oda's graduation — won't be on TV Asahi either.

Re: #16
Don't forget Angerme already did a whole Hulu show goofing around at Ise Shrine.
18AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:15
You can watch it on a tablet or PC too — you don't need an actual TV set, but you do need the card number that comes with a TV subscription, so if you have zero TV setup at home you're still out of luck.
20AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:16
You can't record Hulu at all. SKY PerfecTV! is the righteous choice.
21AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:16
When Ishida and Ikuta graduated there was an overseas graduation trip — Oda doesn't get one?
22AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:18
Kawarasaki (a Hello! Project staffer) once grumbled about how Hulu apparently has so much money to throw around.
23AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:19
And here I was looking forward to the Hulu special…
24AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:20
So that means Angerme's stuck on Hulu after all? Guess I can't record it.
26AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:23
TV Asahi 1: Budokan, Mon 10/26 — Tsubaki Factory
TV Asahi 1: Yokohama Arena, Fri 12/11 — Morning Musume.

Re: #25
That one's tied to the spring concert though, right? Not relevant to the fall one.
28AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:25
The Haga/Yokoyama special (with Yokoyama absent) must have sold terribly — guess they got shown the door by Hulu.
31AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:29
Re: #28
Since this year's Hina Fest, Hulu fully switched from pay-per-view to an all-you-can-watch subscription plan, so the timing of getting cut loose was just unlucky.
29AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:26
I never watched the one where the leaders all got together and did something — that vibe just felt like too much for me. And I even sat through the Ise Shrine trip one.
30AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:29
Putting Haga/Yokoyama on Hulu was the real mistake lol.
35AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:30
This is way better since you can actually record it.
36AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:31
Re: #35
Yeah, agreed.

Only thing left to worry about now is the weather on the day.
37AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:32
You just can't record a stream, period. A proper broadcast is the way to go.
38AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:33
TV Asahi will probably end up rerunning last year's Juice=Juice fall Budokan show into the ground anyway.
40AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:34
TV Asahi probably got pissed that Juice=Juice put both their spring and fall shows on Hulu, panicked, and offered up Oda's concert as a peace offering.
41AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:34
Musume. — TV Asahi
Angerme —
JJ — Budokan, PIA Arena
Tsubaki — TV Asahi
Beyooooonds —
42AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:34
Got cut by Hulu for not making enough money?
44AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:36
Like someone said above, the streaming versions are often half-assed — sometimes the song titles don't even display. Hello! Project concerts were always a SKY PerfecTV thing to begin with, so really this is just going back to how it used to be.
45AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:36
Fuji TV TWO's been pretty cold toward them lately too.
60AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:49
TV Asahi probably doesn't want to lose its ties with Juice=Juice, so they're likely offering some unbelievably good terms.
63AnonymousOct 21, 2026 18:51
Re: #60
TV Asahi was the only one that lumped all three groups together for the summer festival and cut their airtime too — that's basically a threat.

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

Hello! Project concert broadcasts have long been the domain of SKY PerfecTV!’s TV Asahi Channel 1, but in recent years more shows have shifted over to Hulu streaming, and fans’ inability to record those broadcasts had become a sore point. In the thread, users noted that starting with this year’s Hina Fest, Hulu moved away from pay-per-view toward an all-you-can-watch subscription plan, leading some to speculate that groups whose past specials hadn’t sold well simply got dropped from Hulu as a result. That said, there’s been no official explanation for why Oda Sakura’s graduation concert returned to TV Asahi, so it’s worth noting this reasoning is purely thread speculation. It’s also still unconfirmed at this point which platform will carry Juice=Juice’s Budokan and PIA Arena shows or Angerme’s broadcasts, and the differing treatment between groups looks set to stay a hot topic.
