The story
Capcom’s in-house livestream program “Capcom Spotlight,” which aired starting at 11:00 PM on September 16, 2026, drew reactions on 5ch’s hardware/industry board almost as soon as it began. Since most of the announcements covered titles that had already been revealed, comments saying “looks like there won’t be any surprises” appeared early on, leaving viewers who’d hoped for new Ace Attorney series info feeling let down. The fact that concurrent viewership stayed at around the 8,000 mark, along with the differing order in which platform logos appeared for Monster Hunter versus Dragon’s Dogma 2, also became talking points, with some comparing the show’s pacing to that of a Nintendo Direct.
What people said
That's literally the only thing I'm hyped for
I don't want to fry my console so I need some guinea pigs to test it first
Already getting the feeling there won't be any surprises…
Isn't it always like that though
Well, it's only pulling just over 8,000 concurrent viewers…
The staging looks cheap, they're not great speakers, and there's an awkward insider-joke vibe to it
They should prioritize pacing and content and let a pro handle the explaining
They showed Yo-kai Watch in the Nintendo Direct so hopes went up… and then there's the actual content
These days Resident Evil means Eiko, and Eiko means Resident Evil, after all
Isn't the audience just spread too thin across streams?
It's all stuff we've already heard
If there really were a new Ace Attorney, they'd save it for a Nintendo Direct anyway
What even is this
Because there's no new info
for Dragon's Dogma 2
I thought the same thing — Pragmata's logo was way in the back with PS5 up front. Does PlayStation have some kind of ad/marketing deal on Pragmata or something?
Well, Switch 2 is the only platform getting the base game and Dark Arisen released simultaneously, so maybe there's some intent to make that stand out
Though at least among consoles, they probably see PlayStation as the priority
Makes you think, 'they're still saying that?'
Probably because Wilds is coming to Switch 2 later
No new info, so it's genuinely boring
I guess it's the overwhelming pacing that comes from sheer volume of content
When you try to carry a show solo with as little material as Capcom has, it just drags on forever, the pacing falls apart, and since nothing can be cut, they end up saying everything they wanted to say anyway
Background and Key Points of This Discussion
“Capcom Spotlight” is an irregularly held in-house livestream from Capcom, different in character from regularly scheduled shows like Nintendo Direct or PlayStation’s State of Play. Two main points drove the thread’s discussion. The first was “whether there was new information” — since most of the announced titles had already been reported elsewhere, comments saying “there’s no surprise” appeared early on. The second concerned production choices: some speculated about possible advertising agreements after noticing that the order in which the Nintendo and PS5 logos appeared varied by title for Monster Hunter and Dragon’s Dogma 2, but this was purely viewer speculation, not anything officially explained. Comments also weighed in on the concurrent viewer count (roughly in the 8,000s) and the skill of the show’s pacing, but it’s worth noting these are all subjective impressions from individual viewers, not an objective verdict on the broadcast’s quality.
