The story
A thread on 5ch’s “Hardware Industry (Geha)” board asked self-proclaimed PC users why they hate Nintendo. Against voices saying “I’m just not interested, I don’t hate them,” came pushback: “Not being interested is fine, but the PC users on Geha can’t hide their hatred for Nintendo and stand out for it.” The discussion spread to debates over PC vs. console superiority, posts justifying “growing away” from Nintendo by comparing it to leaving the nest, a mocking coinage for the Switch called “SwitchU,” and even a tangent about Intel’s stock plunge and the broader semiconductor market.
What people said
Not being interested is fine, but the self-proclaimed PC users on Geha can't hide their hatred for Nintendo — they really stand out for it.
Feeling superior enough to look down on everyone else just because you own a PC is a sickness.
Plenty of Switch users own PCs too, and if they've got the money, tons of them have gaming PCs lying around as well.
Is there anyone who drives a car and has zero complaints about reckless cyclists? (chari-kasu, slang for bad cyclists)
Have you never actually driven?
I've never seen Switch and Xbox fans fight.
I've never seen Xbox and PC fans fight.
The ones always fighting are the troublemakers.
Plenty of them exist, actually.
I remember people fighting when Palworld came out on Xbox.
It's completely normal to grow distant from the toys you played with as a kid.
Exactly right.
Moving out of your parents' house to live alone is just what adults do.
Gradually graduating from Nintendo wouldn't be strange at all, but are you actually watching Geha? The guys who supposedly "graduated" spend every day thinking about nothing but Nintendo, hating on it, and spamming garbage threads about it.
Why are you bundling in a Switch nobody needs???
Stop forcing it on people, it's creepy (´;ω;`)
I only own 3 systems, but as a combo, Switch 2 + PC is flawless.
Why? A tablet plus a PC is plenty.
"Buhitch" games run fine on an emulator anyway. (mocking nickname for the Switch, blending "oink" with "Switch")
Honestly, if you've got money to spare for a Buhitch, you'd be better off buying another tablet instead.
Hey old man, what are you even playing on your "SwitchU"?
What the heck is "SwitchU"?
I get that PC gives you a ton of games to choose from, but… isn't "SwitchU" basically a game fast???
Apparently PS5 = SWU = SwitchU.
The PC civilization is entering a sudden decline.
That's just investors panicking. Even a -30% drop doesn't wipe out this year's gains.
Kioxia tanked hard, so does that mean the semiconductor industry is in decline? Really now?
I heard storage-chip stocks go through repeated boom-and-bust cycles — guess the crash phase has finally come around again.
There were just a few like that — don't lump everyone together lol
You're the tiny minority here, yet you keep popping up acting like that every time. Seriously makes me doubt whether your eyes even work right.
No, it's not mystery data — it's from a legitimate research firm.
– Hides behind "I have a PC" whenever things don't go their way
– Claims to own a PC, but if a multiplayer title snubs PC users even when it's actually out on PC, trash-talks it anyway
– Pretends to own a PC when they don't
– Has no real knowledge about PCs
It'll bounce back once China starts hoarding memory chips again.
Ugh, don't let weirdos reply to this…
Background and Key Points of This Debate
The Geha (Hardware Industry) board is where supporters of Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and other platforms have feuded for years, and it has its own set of mocking nicknames for each platform’s fans. This thread, too, started from questioning whether the very framing of “PC users who hate Nintendo” even holds up, and the discussion sprawled without ever settling on one point — mixing the stance of “it’s not hatred, just disinterest” with complaints about Nintendo’s corporate attitude. The Intel stock plunge mentioned partway through refers to real reporting on fears over future PC demand, but even within the thread opinions were split on whether that should be read as a broader downturn across the whole semiconductor market — a reminder to be wary of drawing sweeping conclusions from one slice of investment news.
