Watching Osaka night-view video channels on YouTube beats watching Peace-kun at Omiya Park any day (Peace-kun being a mascot/animal kept at Omiya Park).

This thread is a perfect symbol of how starved the entertainment/sports board is for real material.

Chiko-chan is so annoying
Just end already, this garbage show

Forget Yuchami — check out me, I became able to eat shiitake mushrooms.
Couldn't touch them for 22 years, but then I saw a late-night shopping channel grilling shiitake with butter on top, suddenly wanted some, and went out and bought some.

Re: #13
You get less sensitive to bitterness as you age,
so suddenly liking something is pretty common.
Green peppers (piman) are the classic example.
Try raw green pepper topped with chicken tsukune (ground chicken meatballs) — ridiculously good.

Nao Kosaka said she's not a fan of corn either.

Re: #16
For Kosaka it's not about taste — it's trypophobia (fear of clustered patterns).

Never liked liver, but after eating it at a yakitori place I gradually came around to it.
22AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:01
I wish they'd breed carrots to lose that earthy smell instead of just making them sweeter.
23AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:02
Authentic Sapporo ramen doesn't actually put corn in it.
24AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:02
Grilled corn, corn soup —
they're popular for a reason, so if you don't like them, just don't eat them.
Same goes for tuna and octopus — don't eat those either, then.
25AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:03
Maybe she just wasn't chewing the corn properly?
26AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:03
Our mandatory license fees fund garbage shows like this while they cry poor — this organization is basically an anti-social crime syndicate (hansha, slang for yakuza-linked "anti-social forces").
27AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:04
Butter corn is so good
Frozen or canned, it's the best 👍
28AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:06
At this window where 'Yuchami' wraps the two of us in twilight (a pun swapping 夕闇/yuyami, "dusk," for her name, which sounds similar)
29AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:08
So they're making garbage shows like this with forcibly-collected broadcast fees?
32AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:10
I could eat popcorn too if it weren't for that hard hull part
That fluffy texture always comes stuck to a crunchy, gritty shell.

I suddenly became unable to eat melon.
My throat used to get scratchy whenever I ate melon, but I kept eating it anyway because it was so good — now though, my throat swells up and I have trouble breathing.

Dumping mixed vegetables into every single dish you cook is very 'gal'-coded, huh

— Uchaka (a joking riff on Yuchami's name)

I also couldn't eat onions for years, but I got over it.
36AnonymousOct 31, 2026 12:12
Corn actually has a surprisingly strong smell, and if it's not handled well it can hit you right in the nose
so it's plausible a bad experience put someone off it for good
She probably had a properly made version and that overwrote the bad memory.

Yuchami
Michopa
Pachopa
Chanmina
Mirichamu

I honestly can't tell them apart anymore
Which one's the one who always carries six bars of yokan (sweet red bean jelly) on her?

Wait, 'Pachopa' is actually a real person?

I'll allow it in miso.
In soy sauce (shoyu) ramen? Unforgivable.

Shiitake mushrooms are the one thing I still can't eat, no matter how much time passes.

Background and talking points

The phenomenon of “suddenly being able to eat a food you used to hate” is usually chalked up to changing taste perception — sensitivity to bitterness and “green” smells is known to decline with age, and strongly-aromatic foods like corn or green peppers are the classic examples people point to. “Chiko-chan Will Scold You!” is a popular NHK variety show built around unveiling guests’ surprising hidden sides and anecdotes. In this thread, discussion drifted away from Yuchami herself toward criticism of the show and gripes about NHK’s mandatory license fee, plus other users’ own stories of overcoming long-standing food aversions; posts amounting to unsourced personal attacks have been left out of this article. Claims raised in the thread, such as “the gal boom is over,” are simply anonymous-forum opinion and have not been confirmed as fact.
