The standard edition costs ¥8,980, while the Digital Deluxe Edition — which comes with five limited-edition suits, limited-edition claw designs, and other DLC — costs ¥9,980. On 5ch’s Hardware/Industry (Geha) board, some posters admitted they hadn’t even realized the release date had arrived, while others worried the user score would get trashed by a flood of one-off accounts. What people said
Probably gonna get flooded with one-off accounts giving it straight 10s.
Like what happens with Nintendo titles?
The fact that people are more excited about the user score than the actual game is genuinely a sign of the end times.
People don't even know the release date happened…
Then you buy it, lolololololololol
With a PS5 exclusive, nobody bothers making hype threads for it, so people just don't notice it's coming.
Meanwhile Forza Horizon 6, which is mostly played by PC users, got its own hype thread.
Yeah, now that you mention it, nobody was even talking about the release date lol
There's no way a PS5 owner wouldn't buy this.
Sounds like your loyalty's being put to the test.
Can you swap them in and out easily, like women do with fake nails?
No can do — canonically the metal is embedded in his body and bursts out through his skin, so that's not how it works.
・A console bundle with original artwork
・A controller with original artwork
・An original-design cover exclusive to the Pro model
・An original-design cover for the standard PS5
…
Sony even reskinned the PS App in Wolverine colors for the launch, so yeah, this is clearly a title they're betting big on.

Re: #314
Every third party should be PS-exclusive. These clueless third parties can't even sell on Switch or Xbox, so they go multiplatform instead — and in the end they're just using PS owners as a safety net. They think of us as walking ATMs.
Haven't seen a 'one-day GK' (someone who acts like a diehard PlayStation fanboy for a single post) like this in a while.
Given how unhinged that first reply is, I'd say it's the real deal.
Lol, nobody even remembers that guy anymore, right?
And that's after Bandai Namco already trashed the market for licensed games in Japan.
Isn't the PS5 the only platform where nothing's selling?
Apparently it's "excluded from the series count."
Though with Marvel games, apparently if the playable character changes, it counts as a completely new IP.
What's even the point of those?
Wait, aren't these the kind of QTEs where it doesn't matter whether you actually press the button or not?
Yeah, I thought it felt like Uncharted too — so why's Wolverine getting bashed?
It's probably fun at first, but the enemies are recycled and the routes are repetitive, so it gets old fast.
Well, it's good to see some positive reviews out there.
But I think how attached you are to Wolverine really affects how you experience the gameplay.
Going in completely fresh with no attachment to the character is probably a tough sell.
What does winning that even accomplish? It's not exactly a selling point, is it?
It's basically like a Monde Selection award (a food award notorious for being easy to win) — a meaningless honor.
Even if it came to Game Pass, you'd get bored halfway through and drop it.
Way too repetitive.
Guess Wolverine on his own just doesn't shine as a game.
There's only so much you can do with just claws.
And it's not even as brutal as people made it out to be.
Background and Key Points of This Discussion
“Marvel’s Wolverine” is a PS5-exclusive licensed action title developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment’s own studios, and — judging by its pricing tiers and the contents of the Digital Deluxe Edition — it’s clearly positioned by the company as one of its flagship, big-budget releases. What split opinion on the thread was the reliability of the user score: posters cited the familiar pattern where scores on outside sites like Metacritic tend to get trashed by a flood of one-off accounts right after launch, pointing to past cases involving Nintendo titles as precedent. At the same time, early reviews from major outlets like IGN came in around 9 out of 10, highlighting the structural gap that often opens up between critical reviews and user voting. Several posters also noted that, in Japan, the release date itself wasn’t well known — an interesting point suggesting exclusive titles don’t generate the same kind of hype threads that build anticipation the way multiplatform releases do, revealing a real difference in temperature between the two. It’s also worth keeping in mind that licensed character games have a history of being churned out cheaply in the past, which tends to keep expectations low in the Japanese market from the outset.
