The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti's theoretical FP32 performance is 16.20 TFLOPS.
So more like a 3060 Ti, then?
With optimization factored in, the PS5 Pro is above 3070 level.
If you want a PC that clearly beats the PS5 Pro, you'll want at least a 4070.
I bought mine for ¥90,000 last year.
Actually it was still that price up until about two months ago.
Prices have shot up just recently.
The 9070 XT used to go for under ¥100,000, now it's around ¥130,000.
The 5070 Ti went from just under ¥150,000 to something like ¥230,000. It's insane.
And it's not just that —
other factors differ from a discrete GPU too, so a simple comparison doesn't really work.
so does the GPU comparison even matter?
The PS4 managed to perform as well as it did with a weak mobile-grade Jaguar CPU, so GPU matters way more than CPU.
That said, if you're leaning hard into ray tracing or AI workloads, CPU power does become necessary.
It's also held back by its crappy case/cooling, so it can only perform at about mobile-chip levels.
Basically a giant smartphone.

The PS5 Pro can at least turn ray tracing on, and it's got PSSR, a DLSS-like feature of its own.
Even Onimusha can run at 60FPS in performance mode, so if your alternative is a PC with a 3070 or worse,
you're better off with the PS5 Pro.
PSSR is just a derivative of FSR, which is notorious for being trash🥺
Please don't put it in the same sentence as DLSS.

PSSR2 is based on FSR 4.1's upscaling tech, but
it's not the full spec —
the frame generation feature has been stripped out.
PSSR is a downgrade of FSR, which is itself already a downgrade of DLSS.
The PS5 Pro's ray tracing support is too built-up to compare it to a 20-series card — the 30-series is really the fair comparison.
If it's roughly on par with a 3070 once optimization is factored in, that's tolerable, though the CPU seems to have barely advanced at all and is dragging things down hard.
People have long said it's really more like an RTX 2080.

Honestly, if gaming's your goal, the PS5 Pro delivers better image quality and
more stability than a PC built around something like an RTX 2070 — that's just a fact.
It doesn't even have frame generation, that's trash.
it lacks the frame generation that comes with RDNA2,
and on the hardware side, RDNA2's Infinity Cache has been stripped out, making it a downgraded version.
It's not full-spec RDNA2.
That's just AMD marketing bluster — Infinity Cache isn't actually a required part of RDNA2. The Xbox Series X doesn't have it either, and neither do the laptop APUs.

Put Linux on a PS5 with none of the optimizations or proprietary features running, and it's barely different from the stock PS5 —

a Zen 2 8-core CPU with a 36-CU RDNA2 GPU.
Even the latest FSR 4.1 is said to still not have caught up to DLSS 4.0's super resolution — neither side has frame generation, but PC also has the option to use FSR or 'Ahiru' (Lossless Scaling, nicknamed "the duck") as an add-on.
Well, they probably had no choice but to partner with Radeon for the APU, but there's no way to win with hardware that can't even beat NVIDIA's latest cards.
What makes 'Ahiru' (Lossless Scaling) strong is the combo trick of running upscaling on the discrete GPU while running frame generation on the iGPU in parallel😮
