The story

Appearing on a Nippon Broadcasting radio show, TV personality Akane Osawa reportedly named comedian “Farewell Comedian” Shin’ichi — who was sitting right next to her as a guest — as “the comedian most hated among female talent.” Since she raised rumors about Shin’ichi’s “scumbag” persona directly to his face, reactions on 5ch split between those who felt it was fair game as a joke since he was right there, those who argued the person saying it was the real problem, and others noting that Shin’ichi is actually well-regarded and serious-minded on set.

Akane Osawa: “He’s seriously hated throughout showbiz” — names the comedian, “Ranked No. 1 among female talent”

TV personality Akane Osawa (41) appeared on her Nippon Broadcasting radio show “Akane Osawa LUCKY7” (weekdays 9:50 p.m.), which aired on the 8th, and named by name the comedian she says is most hated among female talent.

That day’s guest was “Farewell Comedian” Shin’ichi. With him sitting right in front of her, Osawa said, “I hear all kinds of rumors about Farewell Comedian Shin’ichi. Like, ‘he sells himself as a scumbag comedian, but apparently he’s actually a real scumbag.’” She went on, sounding worried: “Are you really, really okay? I think you’re genuinely hated — by female talent.”

If she said it to his face, I guess it's fine?

Re: #7
The sneaky part is she's not saying 'I hate him' — just 'apparently he's hated.' Nice deflection.
9AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:11
This is exactly the kind of setup Shin'ichi thrives on, so it's fine.

Re: #9
Honestly it boosts his cred — he probably wants as big a name as possible saying this about him. Starting with Egashira 2:50 and Degawa, then on to Kurochan and Nadal — that's basically the career ladder for this kind of act (all comedians known for outrageous, 'trashy' personas).
10AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:11
Being hated while you're still a nobody is the worst-case scenario.
14AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:14
She brings him on as a guest, it's obviously just a joke, but somehow the listeners take it dead serious and go flood Akane Osawa's social media — classic pattern.
16AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:15
Saw the thread title and figured this was gonna be about Sarina Suzuki being the most hated among female talent.

Same, lol

Who even is Shin'ichi? Isn't it 'Shin'ichi Davidson'?

Re: #17
That's Jun'ichi you're thinking of.
18AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:15
Shin'ichi does have this bad habit of instantly following a celebrity on social media the moment their divorce news breaks, but he's well-liked on set — he delivers exactly what's wanted before the director even has to direct him.

Re: #18
He's considerate enough that he sends snacks to Maruyuka every time as an apology for using them as a bit.

Re: #18
Shin'ichi just plays a scumbag character — underneath he's a straight-laced jock type, period. Even within Grape (his comedy duo), he's the only senior member who actually teaches the juniors manners. Where's the 'scumbag' in that?
21AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:18
If he were really hated throughout showbiz he wouldn't get this much work. Hated by fellow talent specifically, sure, I could see that.
23AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:20
This whole 'he plays a scumbag but he's actually a great guy' angle is cringe.
25AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:21
If he's sitting right there, this was obviously arranged beforehand.
26AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:21
I thought 'Farewell Comedian' meant some ominous bit where he memorizes the dates various people died.
27AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:22
That guy (´・ω・`) — setting him up to step on a landmine so he gets magically erased from showbiz.

Love it when a manzai duo that's never once been on TV drops a long-winded breakup announcement~♪

This board should just rename itself 'Kotatsu Article Breaking News' (i.e., lazy, armchair-written news aggregation).
34AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:24
Classic: she only says this kind of thing about people who can actually take it.
35AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:24
Didn't Ano-chan get into trouble for naming someone like this before?
36AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:24
Save this garbage talk for YouTube. Is this really something for TV?
37AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:24
I heard Shin'ichi's genuinely a good guy though.
44AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:26
Wasn't there already a consensus that we should stop doing this kind of thing?
47AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:27
If someone's actually hated, they'd retaliate, so you couldn't even say it out loud.
49AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:28
What does anyone even get out of this conversation? Akane Osawa comes off badly, and it's not even funny for Shin'ichi.
50AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:28
Aren't like 80-90% of comedians genuinely scumbags anyway?
57AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:30
Speaking of which, what ever happened with that Sarina Suzuki and Ano-chan controversy?
63AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:33
Re: #57
Ano pretty much disappeared, huh.
77AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:38
Re: #57
Ano became known as the 'troublemaker' type, Suzuki's 'biting back' persona really took off, and in the end things settled into a decent place for both.
68AnonymousOct 9, 2026 09:35
What does a 'Farewell Comedian' actually do? Why's he called that? Guess it doesn't matter since I don't even know his face.

Re: #68
Got time to kill, posting stuff that doesn't even matter? lol

Background and Key Points of This Topic

“Farewell Comedian” Shin’ichi built his name on a “scumbag” persona, yet fellow comedians often describe him as a polite, straight-laced type — and that very gap is part of what makes him work as a character. The remark in question was made on the radio with him sitting right there, and commenters repeatedly pointed out that it was likely a pre-arranged bit done with his consent. At the same time, the same words said publicly without him present could easily cross into outright insult, highlighting how fine that line can be. Opinions in the thread split over whether this counts as a joke that only works because he was present, or whether it reflects poorly on the person making it regardless — and notably, the claim that he’s actually “hated by female talent” was never itself verified within the article.
