The story
A thread appeared on 5ch’s “Nandemo Jikkyo G” board about the latest chapter of Hunter x Hunter. While the next issue was announced as a hiatus, the chapter itself showed Hisoka facing off against Tseri of the Phantom Troupe. Commenters poked fun at the Troupe for failing to spot Hisoka even though he’s brazenly gambling away at a casino, while opinions split over the claim that Tseri’s Nen ability resembles King Crimson from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Others broke down the tactic of rapidly re-entering Zetsu (the Nen state that erases your presence) right after dropping it, to keep striking from blind spots.
What people said
That's just normal for Togashi at this point, buddy.
What a useless ability.
Right??
I get that Togashi wants him to be his own ideal of a smart, handsome guy, but… really? Is that why? lol
So that foreshadowing is finally paying off, huh.
Tseri: "…" *stab stab stab*
That's the reality of it.
Just find Hisokass and call the boss right away already.
Either Babimyna or Bererainte.
that Tseri was just there to job for Hisoka (lit. 'Goto position' — pro-wrestling slang for a guy who exists to lose and make the other side look strong).
I have zero clue what's going on.
It's not really that complicated of an ability.
If you watch him use it now and then go back and reread the part where he used it on Theta, you'll pretty much get it.
It's honestly not that impressive an ability — they're just drawing it to look needlessly complicated.
Just think of it as a watered-down King Crimson.
Next time Benjamin shows up it'll probably be as a pathetic corpse with a blissed-out look on its face.
Shizuku too, probably.
Right now he can only beat opponents he can take down with a gun.
Though that's probably why he's training so hard.
That's exactly why he's trying to shorten the time it takes to re-enter Zetsu.
If he can get the gap between dropping Zetsu and re-entering it down to almost nothing,
he can keep attacking from blind spots forever — which means he could beat anyone.
Even their royal army is weak.
If you're actually a fan, you'd already know Togashi rips off JoJo constantly.
He's pretty up there in age by now, so his body's probably already falling apart.
He knows that himself, and still tried to stretch the story even further — that was a bad move…
Wasn't he unable to attack while in Zetsu?
That's exactly why he's trying to shorten the time it takes to re-enter Zetsu.
If he can get the gap between dropping Zetsu and re-entering it down to almost nothing,
he can keep attacking from blind spots forever — which means he could beat anyone.
Background and Talking Points
Hunter x Hunter has repeatedly made headlines over hiatuses tied to creator Yoshihiro Togashi’s health, and the reaction to this latest “next issue on hiatus” announcement follows that same pattern. Tseri travels with Phantom Troupe leader Chrollo, and the scene that dominated the thread showed him speeding up his re-entry into Zetsu (a Nen state that erases one’s presence) to strike from blind spots. Several commenters compared this ability to the Stand “King Crimson” from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, splitting opinion between those questioning its originality and those who argued it’s simply drawn to look needlessly complex. Worth noting: the chapter never actually confirms that Tseri loses to Hisoka — the thread’s reactions are speculation based on where the story seems to be heading.
