  • Is PE Class Even Necessary? 5ch Says: “We Need It—Some Kids Only Shine at Swimming”

A thread titled “PE class should be abolished” popped up on 5ch’s Livegalileo board, arguing that gym class fails kids who aren’t athletic and fuels bullying. Replies split fast: critics said other subjects like art and music have the same gap between the talented and the not-so-talented, and dismissed the OP’s stance as selfish. The OP kept firing back that even just eliminating PE-related bullying would be worth it, and the debate never converged.

Athletic kids look down on kids who aren't. But then they turn around and call the smart kids "nerds" (gariben) and refuse to give them any credit. No matter how you slice it, that's messed up.
    2AnonymousSep 12, 2026 11:54
    Exercise is necessary, period.
That's a personality problem on your end.
    6AnonymousSep 12, 2026 11:55
    Re: #2
    Necessary? Why?
Do humans just die if they don't exercise?
    8AnonymousSep 12, 2026 11:56
They never actually teach the kids who can't do it how to get better—they just sort you into "can" and "can't" and leave it there.
    14AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:00
    Re: #8
What were kids who can't swim even doing during swim class? They were never taught how to swim, so there was nothing for them to actually do.
    15AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:00
The whole premise of "athletic kids look down on non-athletic kids" makes no sense.
Saying that just outs you as the kind of person who'd do that if the shoe were on the other foot.
    17AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:02
    Re: #15
    Premise?
    It's not a premise, it's a fact—
there really are a ton of guys like that.
    22AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:06
Looking at OP, I'm guessing he got bullied for something else too, not just being bad at sports.
    25AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:07
    Re: #22
If saying this is what gets someone bullied,
then I'll say it loud and clear: you guys are the ones in the wrong.
    29AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:09
    Re: #25
Well obviously the bully is the one in the wrong, but let's be real, some people are just going to get bullied no matter what.
    32AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:12
    Re: #29
    I know that already.
It's people like you who just shrug and go "well, that's just how it is" and accept it—
    that's exactly what enables bullying.
    34AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:14
Sure, scrapping PE might cut down on bullying aimed at klutzes,
but bullies would just find some other yardstick to pick their targets by.
    37AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:15
    Re: #34
But the bullying caused specifically by PE would disappear.
What's the point of that big-picture argument?
    38AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:15
You're supposedly good at studying, yet you're arguing on pure emotion. Embarrassing.
    42AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:17
    Re: #38
What does me being good at studying have to do with whether I'm allowed to argue emotionally?
    41AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:16
You're only saying this because you personally suck at PE.
The same logic applies to art and music too, so there's no end to it.
    44AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:18
    Re: #41
I've heard that counterargument a million times, but being bad at art or music is on a totally different level from being bad at PE.
If anything, the athletic popular kids ("riajuu"-type gym rats) are the ones who couldn't care less about trying in art or music class.
You might think you're making a sharp point, but it doesn't hold up at all.
    46AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:19
So basically, to sum it up:
"I'm bad at sports, so get rid of PE."
That's a selfish argument straight out of grade school.

    53AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:21

    What are you talking about?

Background and Key Points of This Debate

PE is a mandatory subject under Japan’s official Courses of Study, and there’s no indication that the Ministry of Education is considering scrapping it. Where the thread split was over whether the ranking and bullying that PE produces is a structural flaw of the subject itself, or simply a matter of teaching methods and individual differences in how kids handle it. Critics pointed out that art and music also have their own gaps between the talented and the untalented, but the OP wouldn’t budge, insisting that differences in athletic ability are a far more serious issue. Much of the exchange devolved into a circular argument over whether the OP’s claims were based on personal experience or general observation, occasionally spilling over into personal attacks.

  • First Paycheck ‘Zero Yen’ After Illegal Wage Deductions: Ramen Chain Ordered to Pay ¥1 Million — 5ch: ‘A Disgrace to Japan’

It has come to light that a company operating the ramen chain “Mitsuyado Seimen” in Tokyo unilaterally deducted the deposit and key money for company housing from the wages of a 30-year-old Myanmar woman working under the Specified Skilled Worker (Tokutei Ginō) visa status, leaving her effective first paycheck at zero yen. The woman filed suit seeking about 1.7 million yen in unpaid wages and other compensation, and on September 11 the Tokyo District Court ruled that the deductions violated the Labor Standards Act, ordering the company to pay roughly 1 million yen. On 5ch, users expressed surprise that the company chose to fight the case all the way to a ruling, and debated who should really bear the cost of housing for foreign workers.

Illegal Deduction from Specified Skilled Worker’s Pay: Tokyo District Court Orders Ramen Chain to Pay | Mainichi Shimbun

    September 11, 2026, 13:15 (Last updated September 11, 20:54)

In a lawsuit brought by a 30-year-old Myanmar woman who worked at the ramen chain “Mitsuyado Seimen” under the Specified Skilled Worker visa status — who sought roughly 1.7 million yen in unpaid wages and other compensation from the Tokyo-based operating company, saying illegal deductions had left her first paycheck at “zero yen” — the Tokyo District Court ruled on the 11th that the company must pay about 1 million yen. The court found that unilaterally deducting upfront costs such as the deposit and key money for company housing from her wages violated the Labor Standards Act.

If anything, I think messing with technical intern trainees is riskier than with Japanese employees.
Japanese workers tend to just swallow it even when there's a labor law violation,
but with trainees, if they run to a support organization, the company gets absolutely wrecked.
    150AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:11
But once they pay that 1 million yen, doesn't it defeat the whole point of hiring a foreigner?
That's easily enough money to have hired a Japanese worker instead.
    162AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:13
    Re: #150
That's because hiring one foreign worker gets you an 80,000-yen subsidy every month.

Background and Key Points of This Story

The Specified Skilled Worker (Tokutei Ginō) status, introduced in 2019, is a visa category that lets fields facing severe labor shortages bring in foreign workers who are ready to contribute immediately. Unlike the Technical Intern Training Program, it allows workers to change jobs within the same field, and has generally been seen as offering stronger worker protections than technical internships. Under the Labor Standards Act, wages must in principle be paid in full, and deducting costs such as company housing fees requires a labor-management agreement — without one, such deductions are illegal. In the thread, almost no one defended the company’s conduct; attention centered on who should really bear housing costs and whether similar practices exist at other workplaces, though some posts also conflated the Technical Intern Training Program with the Specified Skilled Worker system.

  • Daisuke Hori Live-Streams Proof He Can Run on ’30 Minutes of Sleep a Week’ — Already Slurring His Words

Streamer Daisuke Hori began a livestream aiming to prove he can live on just 30 minutes of sleep a day for a week. On day one he snored and dozed off, though he denied it afterward; on day two, viewers watched him take hot baths and keep moving nonstop to fight off sleep; and by day three he was visibly slurring his speech. On 5ch, opinions split over his insistence that his naps were merely “microsleeps” that don’t count as real sleep, over the truth of past claims like “30 minutes of sleep for 17 years” and “three meals a week,” and over whether a short-sleeper stunt like this should even be attempted.

He said something like, "a nap isn't sleep, it's a light doze where you're still conscious"

Background and Key Points of the Debate

So-called “short-sleeper streams” are an endurance format in which streamers who market themselves on minimal sleep attempt to prove self-reported records, and commenters in the thread cited past examples like “Akino” and “Fumya” for comparison. What became the sticking point this time is that there’s no way for outsiders to verify Hori’s own claimed figures, such as “30 minutes of sleep for 17 years” or “three meals a week,” and his refusal to acknowledge dozing off as a failure, instead rebranding it as a “microsleep.” The argument over whether naps count as sleep tends to go in circles, since Hori shuts down pushback with blocked words and outright blocking, leaving the thread split between views like “it’s probably true in his own mind” and “the term has taken on a life of its own.” Note that this article omits highly defamatory, unverifiable comments, such as those alleging unsubstantiated financial disputes.

※This article is compiled and summarized from the 5ch (Newssoku VIP) thread “[Breaking] Daisuke Hori, aka “Captain Bullshit” (a pun on his surname Hori/hora, meaning “tall tale”), Already Hitting His Limit in His Week-Long 30-Minutes-of-Sleep Proof Livestream lol.”

  • Calls to Permanently Raise Corporate Tax Spark Debate — 5ch Asks: ‘Does Shimane Even Have Any Big Corporations?’

Shimane Prefecture Governor Tatsuya Maruyama reportedly told a press conference that corporate tax on large companies should be permanently raised. The remark is seen as reflecting the harsh state of local government finances, but on 5ch the first reaction was the simple question of whether Shimane even has any major corporate bases to begin with — and from there, the discussion expanded into a broader tax-policy debate over whether corporate tax or consumption tax should be raised or lowered. Some argued corporate tax should go up, others pointed out that Japan’s consumption tax burden is low by international standards compared to its corporate tax, and still others worried that high-earning companies would flee overseas — the thread never settled into a simple for-or-against split.

Corporate tax is a tax on profit.

When the corporate tax rate was cut, tax revenue actually went up.

That's because it became cheaper to just pay the tax than to force through extra spending purely to dodge it.

Consumption tax, from a company's perspective, is a tax on revenue.

Since consumption tax taxes revenue, there's no way to avoid it through tax planning.

If Japan wants to increase tax revenue, it should raise the consumption tax, not the corporate tax.

Consumption tax is the mechanism by which everyone — not just the working-age population —

shares the burden of social security spending, which already eats up more than half the national budget.

In other words, cutting consumption tax just means dumping that heavy social security burden entirely onto the working-age generation instead.

If you're going to cut consumption tax, you need to cut social security spending itself, otherwise the burden on working-age people won't actually get lighter.

And if you are going to cut it, it should be on housing and luxury goods — not on daily necessities.

    Norway 25% (food: 15%)

    119AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:09
    Re: #105
Corporate tax is levied on profit, but consumption tax is effectively levied on profit plus labor costs.
That means raising employee salaries actually increases the tax burden under consumption tax — that's the brutal part of it.
With corporate tax, raising salaries doesn't increase what you owe — if anything, paying employees more actually lowers your corporate tax bill.
That's the most horrifying thing about consumption tax by comparison.
    120AnonymousSep 12, 2026 12:09

Income tax originally started as a way to fund wartime expenses anyway — just abolish it and

And abolish consumption tax too, while we're at it.

    Re: #237
Well, Japan's corporate tax is still
the 7th highest in the world.

Other countries offer things like several years of corporate tax exemption to attract factories.
Once jobs increase, they can just collect from the workers' income instead.

Background and Key Points of This Debate

The tension between corporate tax and consumption tax is a recurring structure in Japan’s tax policy debates: corporate tax falls on profit while consumption tax falls on sales and consumption, and that difference in nature fuels disagreement over “who should bear the burden.” What makes this particular remark notable is that it came from a local government like Shimane Prefecture — a reflection of Japan’s local tax structure, where tax payments concentrate in the major metropolitan areas where most big corporate headquarters are based, leaving regional areas with little tax revenue of their own. The thread’s starting point — “does Shimane even have any big corporate bases?” — raised doubts about whether the governor’s argument actually connects to his own prefecture’s interests, before the conversation broadened into a general debate over whether corporate tax or consumption tax should be raised or lowered. Some posts cited specific figures, such as OECD tax-rate rankings, but these remain claims made on an anonymous message board, without cited sources — a point worth treating with caution.

Background and Key Points of This Topic

In Hello! Project song recordings and tours, it’s standard practice for members to handle vocals and dance while the actual instrumental performance is left to outside support musicians. In the thread, there was notable surprise over a female musician replacing the male bassist (Suzuki Wataru) who has typically filled the role, along with remarks about what’s actually expected of a support musician — like the point that “being able to play exactly from the sheet music matters more than flashy technique.” At the same time, Wakazaemon’s career history and high social-media profile sparked comments like “she’s got more followers than Tsubaki itself,” highlighting an odd reversal where the support musician draws more attention than the idol group. That said, it’s worth noting that the circumstances behind the previous bassist’s absence this time, and whether one or the other will keep being used going forward, remain pure speculation within the thread — there’s no official explanation.

Oda pushed her planned graduation from spring to autumn and got Yokohama Arena — but wasn't that arena really meant for Angerme?

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

Angerme currently has no members from Kyushu, and its fixed fan base at regional shows is said to be thinner there than in areas tied to other members’ hometowns. Juice=Juice, meanwhile, sold out its Zepp Fukuoka Alternative show almost instantly this spring, and the thread framed this gap as a question of whether venue sizes had been set appropriately. That said, it’s worth noting that ticket sales continue right up until showtime, so the remaining-seat situation at the time of the thread doesn’t necessarily reflect the final attendance numbers. Also, the comments about trainee-turned members like Goto, Nagano, and Hirayama, read in context, aren’t criticism — they’re meant favorably, along the lines of “she’d be doing even better in another group,” which is easy to misread when taken out of context. Likewise, talk of a trainee “takeover” isn’t based on any actual agency personnel decision — it’s purely fan speculation and joking, and should be read as such.

  • “Not Wanting to Marry” Just Means You’re Immature? 5ch Users Split

A thread titled “I get it if you want to marry but can’t — but not wanting to marry just means you’re immature” was posted on the Nanji Jikkyō (V) board and drew 42 replies.

While some argued that choosing not to have children reflects “a lack of instinct” or “running from responsibility,” plenty of others pushed back, saying “being alone is comfortable” or “I’m choosing this precisely because I understand responsibility comes with it.” The debate over whether married or single people are more “emotionally mature” never quite converged, and some questioned the whole premise of judging someone’s character based on their marital status.

Married guys who bash singles on Nanji-G (a 5ch sports-turned-general board) are even sadder, so honestly I'd rather they were single too.

Background and Key Points of the Debate

Threads like this keep popping up because Japan’s rising unmarried rate and trend toward later marriage have long been hot topics. But this particular thread isn’t really about statistics — it’s a value judgment about how to interpret people’s reasons for not marrying, and true to a live-discussion board, it quickly turned into an emotional back-and-forth.

The biggest sticking point is the definition of “immature” itself. Those defending the original claim link marriage and childbearing to “instinct” and “responsibility,” treating avoidance of them as immaturity. Those pushing back counter that choosing to keep your distance precisely because you’re aware responsibility comes with it is itself a sign of maturity, and ask whether it’s fair to call singles selfish while assuming every married person’s motives are purely selfless — exposing the double standard in the logic.

One thing readers shouldn’t take at face value: the claim floated in the thread that “80% of people who marry around age 20 end up divorced” is just an anonymous post on 5ch, with no source or evidence behind it. Even within the thread itself, this kind of sweeping claim was mocked as something “idiots believe and use as an emotional crutch” — it shouldn’t be treated as established fact.

※This article is an excerpt and summary based on the 5ch (Nanji G) thread ““I get it if you want to marry but can’t” — but “not wanting to marry” just means you’re immature.”

  • New Metroid ‘Ravenas’ Trailer Hits 2.77M Views, Said to Have Already Surpassed Dread

A thread went up on 5ch’s “Hardware & Industry” (Geha) board reporting that the trailer for Nintendo’s new game “Metroid Ravenas” has hit 2.77 million views, surpassing the view count of its predecessor, “Metroid Dread.” Dread, released in 2021, was a hit that sold over 3 million copies — the best-selling entry in the series — arriving right as the indie “Metroidvania” genre was booming. The thread branched into comparisons of how Nintendo titles land domestically versus overseas, citing the Kirby series’ growing overseas popularity since going 3D and the high view count for “Yo-kai Watch 2,” while opinions split over how to weigh Dread’s sales against Hollow Knight’s worldwide total of over 15 million copies.

There are plenty of great indie Metroidvanias, sure,
but they still get buried under the competition.
Nintendo keeps the IP visible over the long haul, which builds awareness,
so when it comes down to the same game, the big publisher wins.

Sure, Metroidvania's having a moment, but there's still a real bias that 'Metroidvania = cheap indie game,' and it's rare for a major publisher to throw this kind of budget at one.

Dread was built out carefully in 3D even in the background, but going by the trailer, Ravenas' model detail looks like a big step up from Dread's.

    Re: #34
Yo-kai Watch 2 originally sold several million, so that tracks.
Domestically, Ocarina of Time's view count and pre-order momentum are actually more surprising, since the original barely scraped a million copies and ended up in bargain bins.
It's well-known and influential overseas, and recognized in Japan too, but there probably aren't that many people with real nostalgia for it.

    Re: #53
For a 3D Metroid, the bare minimum hurdle is becoming the "second game" pick for people who bought a 3D Zelda — it doesn't even get in the ring until it clears that.

    Re: #68
Well, Hollow Knight's list price was around 1,500 yen, and it eventually got sale-priced down to about 400 yen.
Put another way, if it took that much brand recognition and constant sales to reach 15 million, that probably just shows Metroidvania is still a niche genre overall.

Metroidvania blowing up in the indie scene while the Metroid series itself was dormant for years was probably an unexpected stroke of luck for Nintendo.
Thanks to that, it's treated like "THE Metroid" now.
Though that status seems to apply only to the 2D games — Prime's value looks like it's dropped in comparison.
    72AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:13

IPs born on the Famicom Disk System tend to struggle carrying old fans forward and picking up new ones with each sequel.
It also hurt that Metroid was basically dormant during the N64 era, right when Nintendo's hardware audience was turning over.
Prime revived things in the GameCube era, but the 2D side went quiet for way too long after the DS games.

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

The discussion kicked off with a report that the trailer for Nintendo’s new game “Metroid Ravenas” had reached 2.77 million views, surpassing the view count of its 2021 predecessor, “Metroid Dread.” Dread holds the series’ best sales record at over 3 million copies, and the fact that it arrived after the indie “Metroidvania” genre itself had already taken off became a key point of debate in the thread. Opinions split especially over how to compare Hollow Knight’s worldwide total of over 15 million copies against Dread’s sales, with an ongoing back-and-forth about differences in list price and distribution (physical distribution costs, sale frequency). One point readers can easily misread is that trailer view counts don’t necessarily track with actual sales — the thread itself pointed out the gap between “Yo-kai Watch 2″‘s high view count and its real-world sales scale. It’s also worth noting, for anyone following the series as a whole, that the “Metroid Prime” line has seen delayed follow-ups, prompting skepticism in the thread about the pace of future sequels.

    *Remaster version

After defeating Algernon, talking to him brings up the options "Give me the reward," "Let me punch you once," and "Never mind."

    Give me the reward
It makes you look like you're only in it for the money, but he pays out 10,000 aurum — one of the best single rewards in all of Romancing SaGa 3. However, his line afterward is locked to a smug "I'm the mayor now. Heh."

    Let me punch you once
He really doesn't want to get hit — he screams and flees his house — but if you walk back in, he's nonchalantly back in his usual spot. On this route his dialogue reverts to match the original version, and afterward you can no longer threaten him or demand a reward.

    Never mind
Nothing changes, and here too you can't make any further demands afterward.

Writing this made me remember more stuff — apparently Mastery (Gokui-ka) is also changing from a random chance to being based on number of uses.

    Re: #51
Since Combination Arts now trigger for individuals, it'll probably work like in Revenge of the Seventh Planet, where you can use any element except its directly opposing one
    53AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:20
If this sells well and Kawazu drops his recent direction to make a real Romancing SaGa 4, I honestly wouldn't ask for anything else
    66AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:32
    Re: #53
He already hit mandatory retirement before Emerald Beyond even released, so he's probably not getting deeply involved anymore
    58AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:23
I hope Counter (Mikiri) gets its own slot separate from the regular skill list. Haven't played Revenge of the Seventh Planet so I don't know — how was it handled there?
    60AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:25
    Re: #58
It does get its own slot, but Counter (Mikiri) is capped at 4
    62AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:26
SaGa Scarlet Grace and SaGa Emerald Beyond really didn't make much noise, huh. Is an Unlimited SaGa remaster next? Or maybe SaGa Frontier and SaGa Frontier 2 remakes?
    72AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:33
    Re: #62
Not sure if it'll be a remaster, but Kawazu's been saying for ages now that he wants to bring back Unlimited SaGa
    73AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:33
    Re: #62
Scarlet Grace actually sold well for a Vita title. The real disaster was the Game Boy remake that flopped on DS
    67AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:32
This is basically Revenge of the Seventh Planet with a SaGa 3 skin slapped on. Feels stale.
    75AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:37
    Re: #67
Well, Revenge of the Seventh Planet itself already took the original Romancing SaGa 2 and turned it into a super mainstream RPG where you just beat up enemies to get stronger and push the story forward — and that worked. So it's only natural the company figures 'let's just do that again.'
    76AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:38
Wonder if Leonid joins the party no matter which protagonist you pick

    Re: #76
They said they're removing the restrictions where certain characters can't join or certain events can't trigger depending on your protagonist — like Monica now being able to enter the Zweig Tournament, for example
    83AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:41
    Re: #76
Apparently those protagonist-dependent recruitment restrictions are being done away with
    87AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:43
Can this even be played on PlayStation?

Switch 1, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox, Steam — you can play it on any of them

As long as there's no 'hard mode' that's just enemies hitting harder for the sake of it, I'm fine with it

If anything, NOT having one would probably get more backlash

Heard trading's back, but what about 'Masucon'? (an abbreviation glimpsed in the trailer footage; exact meaning unclear)
    95AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:46
    Re: #92
It's already shown in the first reveal video
    94AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:46
Never actually played the original, but do you need to clear it 8 times to get the full story? Is it Octopath Traveler-style, where no matter who you pick it just funnels into the same single storyline anyway?
    99AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:50
    Re: #94
As for the full story, one particular protagonist is tied to the core of the plot, so playing as them gives you the deepest understanding. You can follow it well enough with the others too, though. Beyond that, it's mostly just that each protagonist gets a different epilogue.
    107AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:53
    Re: #94
Honestly, outside of the general setting, the story itself wasn't all that clear in the original either

    Background and Points of Debate

Romancing SaGa 3 was the third entry in the series, originally released in 1995 for the Super Famicom; a remaster followed in 2019, and in 2024 a remake of SaGa 2 arrived as Revenge of the Seventh Planet. This new title continues in that lineage, and where opinions in the thread split was over whether changes like Combination Arts now triggering per-character, Counter (Mikiri) being capped at four slots, and Commander Mode being scrapped push the series further down the mass-market simplification path that Revenge of the Seventh Planet took. The original was defined by its multiple-protagonist structure, where the characters you could recruit and the events that triggered varied depending on your choice of hero — meaning multiple playthroughs were effectively needed to see the full story. This new title, however, signals a policy of removing that very restriction, drawing attention as a change that cuts into one of the series’ core pillars.

  • Yui Murata: “Otoki-chan’s Bangs and Singing Gave Me Chills” — Sense of Crisis After ‘Shakunetsu’ Rehearsal

On Tsubaki Bunshogumi’s radio segment “Wota Mail,” Yui Murata sparked buzz on 5ch’s Hello! Project board by admitting that during rehearsals for “Shakunetsu,” seeing Otoki Nishimura’s singing and newly grown-out bangs up close for the first time left her blurting out “this is insane” (yabai, used here approvingly) — a genuine sense of crisis. Co-stars Tanimoto and Doi also chimed in, agreeing that Otoki has leveled up. While most thread comments welcomed Otoki’s growth, the conversation broadened into a debate over generational change across Tsubaki as a whole — “so who rises next?” — with an ongoing back-and-forth comparing the singing and dancing skills of younger members like Murata and Taguchi.

Their natural singing talent is just different, so trying to compete head-on in the same lane is tough
Better to hone your own kind of appeal
You're the next Maopin (nickname for member Mao Akiyama)
    35AnonymousSep 12, 2026 10:21
    Re: #7
    Akiyama could actually sing decently
She's just not popular, so there's no demand for it
    9AnonymousSep 12, 2026 09:46
Hinaazu aren't the type who could actually rack up BP (get real results) on the skill assessment test even going through the trainee program — they just got fast-tracked straight to passing
Members who proved themselves as trainees first and then got promoted are unquestionably top-tier in the Hello! Project hierarchy

Tayu should start chasing cuteness too, even now
That's the first thing expected of Tsubaki members anyway

Tayu's the cutest one on the inside, though

Tanimoto: Oh, and Otoki-chan loves Hello!, right? She probably listens more than anyone
Murata: Tch… that's not even the level we're talking about here (Yeah, right, you really do love Hello!, huh)

After Mao Akiyama graduates, she'll probably join the Dance Academy program
so it comes down to how much she can show there

    Re: #81
I'm saying that's not good enough
Why would you repeat the same mistake

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

“Wota Mail” is a segment on Tsubaki Bunshogumi’s own radio show where members read out fan reactions, and “Shakunetsu” is known as a demanding track for both dance and vocals. The thread started from Yui Murata’s comment that she was struck by Otoki Nishimura’s singing and grown-out bangs (a change in her look) while rehearsing the song, and expanded from praise for Otoki personally into a broader debate about generational change across Tsubaki, as well as comparisons of members’ singing and dancing skills. Opinion split most sharply over “who will become the core of the next generation” — with Murata and Taguchi both floated as potential successors to Maopin (Akiyama) — while dissatisfaction with some current top members also surfaced. Readers should note that any “scandals” or assessments of specific members’ popularity and skill mentioned in the replies are strictly fan speculation and rumor, not confirmed facts.
