Synopsis
Ippei Date is a young TV director who entered the industry idolizing the legendary director known as "Ramen D," Kunimitsu Matsudaira.
Determined to revive the once-popular but now-struggling segment "Ramen Investigation Squad," he throws himself onto the front lines of reporting.

Looks like the lead back then was from a Johnny's (talent agency) group that had a member arrested
Why didn't they tie that in
>The ramen that mania Koike develops over the course of the show actually gets released in real life — a super ramen drama you can keep enjoying even after watching!

Background and Key Talking Points
“Nidaime! Ramen D: Date Ippei” is the latest installment in Nittele Plus’s foodie drama series “Ramen D,” a franchise that has brought in celebrity regulars in past seasons as well. This time, a young All Japan Pro Wrestling wrestler takes the lead, with Tsubaki Factory’s Yui Kawanishi announced as the heroine-equivalent Haruka Miyoshi, and fellow members Ami Tanimoto and Mizuho Ono set to make guest appearances. The group’s new single “Ai = Un + En + On” (“Love = Luck + Bond + Gratitude”) was chosen as the theme song. Since the broadcast airs on the CS (satellite) channel Nittele Plus, commenters flagged that it can only be watched through limited setups such as SKY PerfecTV! or a basic cable TV plan. Opportunities for Hello! Project members to land drama roles at the lead or semi-regular level — rather than as one-off guests — are rare, which has produced a mix of puzzlement over the broadcast format and genuine excitement in the reactions.
