Sho Hasumi (29) of Dau 90000 appeared as a guest on Nippon Broadcasting’s “Knights the Radio Show” (weekdays 1 PM) on the 24th. He responded to comments from Hikaru Ijuin (58), who had called the Crayon Shin-chan script Hasumi wrote “boring enough to make your legs give out.”
During the late-night broadcast on the 21st of TBS Radio’s “Monday JUNK: Hikaru Ijuin’s Late-Night Baka Chikara,” Ijuin had ripped into the Crayon Shin-chan script Hasumi wrote, calling it “boring enough to make your legs give out.”
He just wanted to look like he had good taste, right?

The kindness of comedians never firing back at Hasumi's go-to bit "nobody cares about comedy anyway" with "nobody cares about theater either unless it's a major company." Outside Yoshimoto, Shochiku, Takarazuka Revue, and Shiki, pretty much the only one with a loyal fanbase is "Shinkansen" (likely a pun on the indie theater troupe Gekidan☆Shinkansen, whose name sounds like "bullet train").

But it's rare these days to see this big a gap between how the industry rates a guy and how we do. His predecessor Fuwa-chan ended up the way she did, so this guy will probably vanish just as fast the moment something goes wrong.

It's probably the same kind of sketch comedy as Zero-San — the type that gets praised by people going "heh, I get it, I'm in on the joke." They should have Hasumi write a script for Yoshimoto instead — curious how he'd handle that old-school, no-frills style of comedy.
