On 5ch’s Hello! Project board, a thread popped up collecting the “iconic lines” of current members from groups like Morning Musume, as well as OGs (graduated members). One after another, posters threw in lines representing each generation — Goto Maki’s “I’m Gomaki,” Michishige Sayumi’s “It’s not that I have a creepy character, I’m just creepy,” Fukumura Mizuki’s “People who don’t know Hello! Project are missing out on 100% of life,” and more. At the same time, plenty of replies admitted they had no idea about the backstory behind famous lines — like Konno Asami’s “But Non-chan never shows up for practice!” — revealing that even catchphrases passed down for years have spread with murky origins.

Re: #72
It's a gripe about how Konno seriously showed up to Gatas practice, but when it came to actual matches, Tsuji — who never practiced — got used instead because popularity came first. The two of them were competing for the goalkeeper spot.

Background and key points of this topic
Since its founding in 1997, Hello! Project has produced numerous groups, including Morning Musume, along with many OGs (graduated members). Fans have a culture of passing down memorable concert and TV remarks as “iconic lines,” and this thread put that accumulated history on display across generations. At the same time, Konno Asami’s line (post #24) drew multiple replies saying “I don’t know the backstory,” with even a theory floating around that it was fabricated by Tsuji fans — showing the quote’s actual origin was never settled. Post #35’s “The dugout’s so clueless, we can’t even play baseball” is actually a 1978 remark from professional baseball commentator Emoto Takenori that has nothing directly to do with Hello! Project — an internet meme phrase that got folded in. That kind of blending is itself a defining feature of this “iconic quote” culture.
