Guess not being able to get it up isn't that big a deal after all

My semen only comes out thick and gloopy now

Re: #3
It not feeling good anymore when I finish — that's seriously, seriously shocking

Aderans and Art Nature (Japan's two big hair-replacement/wig companies) are practically symbols of Japan, so I want their commercials to stay sharp.

Re: #15
Come to think of it, I haven't seen a Reeve 21 (hair-growth treatment brand) commercial lately

Re: #15
That technique where they wrap several strands around one of your real hairs to make it look thicker — once the real hair grows out, does it start drooping down like a willow tree? You have to keep going back regularly to stop that happening, and once you're hooked, you end up paying for it for life — or until you finally stop caring how you look.

Re: #15
Japanese people are, by a huge margin, the most self-conscious about baldness of any nation on Earth, which is exactly why the anti-balding industry rakes it in here

Re: #7
Lately my semen's been watery. Wonder if that's some kind of illness
40AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:05
If you actually bathe properly, wash your hair and body, do your laundry, and lay off greasy food, even a middle-aged guy can improve a bit

Re: #40
No chance. You'll understand once you're older
41AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:05
I'm in my 40s — what's actually a good body soap these days? I was using Uruos but it looks like it got discontinued. Isn't there anything good out there that actually kills age-related odor and body odor?

Re: #41
Don't sweat the smell. Just be natural. Don't fight aging

Re: #41
The foaming body soap from Cow Brand (Gyunyu Sekken) — I've been washing not just my body but my face and hair with it for years now, zero skin trouble
54AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:13
Re: #41
The smell isn't the soap's fault. It's your fault
48AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:08
Had underarm-odor surgery in my mid-40s to help with marriage hunting, but my skin rotted and I got a hematoma — ended up looking like a zombie

Re: #48
Damn, you could go work at USJ without any makeup now (Universal Studios Japan is famous for its zombie actors during Halloween)
55AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:13
Can you even tell yourself if you have body odor or underarm odor?
62AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:17
Re: #55
If you wipe the sweat from wherever's causing it and bring it right up to your nose, sometimes you can actually tell
93AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:37
Re: #55
No you can't. Your own nose is used to it — other people notice precisely because theirs isn't
56AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:14
Can't shake this age-related odor on my scalp
64AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:19
Re: #56
Yeah, true. My head reeks after work. Wish there was a spray or some product you could use during the day to deal with it
74AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:25
Re: #56
Use the Muji head scrub
99AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:40
Re: #56
Same — about a month ago my scalp odor suddenly got intense too. Even washing with kakishibu (persimmon tannin, a traditional deodorizer) doesn't touch it
59AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:15
As for hair, I guess once you go bald you just shave it all off
65AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:19
Re: #59
If a normal guy shaves his head, he just ends up looking like a thug
61AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:17
You can't tell if you smell yourself, so there's no way to even worry about it
70AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:22
Re: #61
That's the weird part — smelling murderously bad and not even noticing it yourself
63AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:19
Let's just give up on #1 [balding] and focus on body odor instead —
– Sweat it out
– Brush your teeth and your tongue (get a dedicated tongue brush)
– Soap behind your ears

A walk followed by a bath is my recommendation. Bad-breath countermeasures double as body-odor countermeasures.
And finally: age-related odor countermeasures. The most important one.
If you've done all that and it's still no good, well, nothing more to be done.

Re: #63
If you just need a quick fix, there's the brute-force move of spraying yourself with alcohol. Stings like hell if you've got any cuts though
107AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:42
Beard's fine since I shave it, but my sideburns going white is a real problem
114AnonymousSep 22, 2026 21:44
Re: #107
Correction: gray hairs coming in

Re: #107
Hosokawa Takashi hated that so much he kept shaving it, and that's how he ended up with that hairstyle. FUJIWARA's Haranishi has totally white sides too — sometimes he just trims the sides short.
153AnonymousSep 22, 2026 22:03
Ever smelled someone who hasn't bathed in about a month? That's seriously next-level. Wherever they sat stays smelly for a while after
157AnonymousSep 22, 2026 22:11
Re: #153
Even so, I've never once been told I smell. As long as you wash your clothes properly, body odor is basically a rounding error
203AnonymousSep 22, 2026 23:09
Re: #153
Sounds like a homeless-person smell

Background and Talking Points

The survey was conducted online by Cross Marketing in July 2026, targeting 3,000 men nationwide aged 20 to 79. In the thread, mentions of body odor and age-related odor outnumbered those of thinning hair, and the discussion turned into an exchange of tips on countermeasure products and body soap brands. At the same time, several posters made the experiential point that “it’s hard to notice your own smell,” so the thread ended up centered more on personal anecdotes than on the survey results themselves. Note that the original article presents a “ranking of concern types,” and the thread’s personal accounts don’t guarantee any scientific effectiveness for the remedies discussed. The scale of the balding/wig industry and individual variation in countermeasures weren’t explored in depth in the thread — it stayed mostly a sharing of personal impressions.
