The story

On the Hello! Project board, it became a hot topic that Juice=Juice members are increasingly appearing on variety shows across Japan’s commercial networks. While some in the thread said it felt like “the momentum of Morning Musume’s golden age,” opinions were divided over who is actually cut out for variety TV, with members known by nicknames like “Ishiyama,” “Sakurachi,” and “Endo” all getting debated for their aptitude. Some pointed out that Angerme used to be seen as the group carrying the variety-show torch, making for a thread that captured how these roles shift between groups over time.

This board (nicknamed "Ookami"/Wolf, the old name for the Hello!Project board) is basically made up of Juice=Juice otaku ("汁ヲタ" – a pun on 汁/"juice").

If you've got time for variety shows, get back to farm work.
4AnonymousSep 13, 2026 13:46
So it's finally Ishiyama's turn, huh?

I'd love to see Arisawa Ichika on Banana Sand, right? (a TV Tokyo variety show hosted by the comedy duo Bananaman)

Ebata or Endo might be a better fit, maybe?

It's because leader Ise has that cynical, deadpan vibe…

Relieved it's not Endo.
Ishiyama can switch into variety mode and she's a fun talker too.

Re: #26
Such a persistent Endo hater.
47AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:55
Endo's not really cut out for variety-show banter, is she?

Sakurachi did location work for Burando, and back then she seemed standoffish and a bit shaky, so it made sense she wasn't trusted with solo jobs – but I bet she's grown since.
There'll be other guests there too, and cooking's her strong suit, so hopefully she can hold her own talking.

Akaringo was great in that "Intern" thing,
so maybe put her on a slightly more serious show.
Everyone's got their own fit, right?

Sakurachi could be the successor to Mai Satoda – glamorous good looks but can pull off the ditzy-character act too.

Project, fans often discuss how variety-show roles get divided up among the different groups, and this thread was no exception – comments like “Angerme used to be the variety-show group” show how the leading members and groups have shifted over time. This time, Juice=Juice members are said to be getting more opportunities to appear on such shows, and fan opinion split over who’s best suited to the talk-show format.
