  • Where Will Hashisako Rin’s Fans Go Next? 5ch Hello!Project Board Buzzes With Oshi-Switch Predictions

A thread on 5ch’s Hello!Project board is debating where fans of Angerme’s Hashisako Rin will go next. The central question: how many will choose “oshi-sotsu” — quitting fandom altogether — versus switching their support to other Angerme members like Matsumoto, Tamenaga, or Kawana. Posters also pointed to past examples, like fans of former members such as Takeuchi, Sasaki, Jokoryo, and Kawamura drifting to Juice=Juice or Beyooooonds, floating the rule of thumb that female fans tend to move to other groups or drop out entirely, while male fans tend to keep supporting the group itself.

    1AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:41
Or is it "oshi-sotsu" (quitting fandom) for you?
    3AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:42
Wait, whose fans moved over to Hashisako in the first place?
    4AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:42
    Quitting for good.
    Rin-chan was my last oshi.
    6AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:44
Angerme's new members, Yoshida Hikari-chan and Ohno Airi-chan.
    9AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:47
Starting fresh by watching over trainee Shii-chan is another option.
    11AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:47
Within Angerme, I'd guess Kero probably gets the biggest faction, but Hashisako's fans are mostly women who only stan one member, so most will likely just disappear entirely.
    12AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:48
I wanted to see Hashisako become leader and eat sushi.
    13AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:51
Fans drift downward in age, so nobody's moving to someone older than Hashisako.
Kawana and Tamenaga will probably vanish within two years too.
Hirayama's unlikely too, given her health issues and she's on the "retire after graduating college" track.
If it stays within Angerme, my bet's on Matsumoto, the frontrunner for next leader.
    14AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:52
Oden's fanbase (nickname for one member) isn't even that young — it's mainly guys in their 40s.
    15AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:53
The fans who moved from Takeuchi were probably women.
Where the male fans came from is a mystery though.
    17AnonymousSep 13, 2026 14:57
Hashisako's fanbase is mostly the "worship Hashisako herself" type, so a lot of them will probably just quit being fans.
    21AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:19
    Re: #17
There's nobody quite like her in Hello!Project right now.

Switch your oshi to the Three-Color Dango (Tamenaga, Kawana, Matsumoto)!
They're the junior members who adored Hashisako Rin.
The Three-Color Dango will carry on Hashisako Rin's spirit.
    22AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:20
Where did Takeuchi, Sasaki, Jokoryo, and Kawamura's fans end up?
I want to make a prediction based on past trends.

Basically none of them switched at all.
    24AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:25
    Rosy's Yoshida.
But in the end they'll just drift to Juice or Beyo anyway.
    27AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:28
Switch your oshi to her fellow hometown member, Yonemura Kirara.
    28AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:31
    Re: #27
I'm a Hashisako fan, but yeah, Kirara's great, I like her.
Still, I think I'm done with Hello!Project for now.
    33AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:41
When the "where will Kawamura's fans switch to" thread went up, someone said fans who stanned Kawamura wouldn't be able to leave the scene.
    And that's exactly what happened.
They still keep showing up to solo events and shows, sometimes looking like ghosts of their former selves.
    37AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:52
If Hashisako fans are gonna like anyone else in Hello!Project, wouldn't it be Endo?
    39AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:56
    Re: #37
    No idea at all.
I've never once seen anyone stan both.
    38AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:53
    HaroColle makes it pretty clear.
Almost no fans switch oshi because of a graduation.
    It's mostly current-member-to-current-member switching.
    43AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:02
    Re: #38
Come to think of it, do HaroColle rankings stay up even after you cancel your fan club membership?
I looked at a certain member's ranking and saw a few accounts near the top that looked dormant.
    40AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:01
The ones who clearly dropped off are the female fans.
The ones dutifully still keeping watch are the middle-aged guy fans.
    41AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:02
Beyooooonds is where female fans oddly increased.
Quite a few went from Sasaki to Hirai.
    42AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:02
Middle-aged guy fans can settle into stanning the whole group.
Female fans are more likely to stick with stanning one individual.
    44AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:03
I wonder how many moved from Angerme to Beyooooonds.
Beyooooonds is doing well lately, so it feels like even more will drift that way.
    45AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:03
Not that it means much since I only have a few fan friends, but one of them did move to Beyooooonds.
    46AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:05
Seems like a fair number of Hashisako fans will drift to Beyooooonds.
Looking around, it doesn't feel like many are sticking with Angerme fandom.
If anything, maybe just the 🐸 (frog) crowd.
    47AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:06
Did Rikako's fans really not move over to Hirayama?
    59AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:40
    Re: #47
Rikako's fans moved to Yumeriai, and after that moved on to actual boyfriends lol
    48AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:08
I won't say none moved over, but not as many as you'd think.
I guess in the end it's just painful to keep watching a group after your oshi is gone.
    49AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:08
Did Sasaki and Hirayama's fanbases even overlap in the first place? I had the impression both had a lot of "intense" fans though.
    50AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:09
They do share the type who see their oshi as playing the "male role" (a common trope for fans, sometimes called "man-san" in net slang), but otherwise the fanbases don't seem to overlap.

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

“Oshi-hen” (switching who you stan) and “oshi-sotsu” (quitting fandom) are terms that come up constantly in Hello!Project fan culture, and what happens to the fans left behind after a member graduates is a recurring topic. The rules of thumb raised in this thread — that “fans drift to younger members but not older ones” or that “male fans tend to support the whole group while female fans tend to stan individuals” — are folk wisdom based purely on individual observation, not on any official statistics or survey, so they should be taken with a grain of salt. It’s also worth noting, as one poster pointed out about Kawamura — where an earlier “who will her fans switch to” thread predicted they “wouldn’t be able to leave the scene,” and that’s exactly what happened — that fans’ behavior after a graduation often continues far longer than they themselves expect. Nothing in the thread confirms Hashisako Rin’s own current activity status; this is all speculation based on how fans are processing the news.

  • Zero-fee state-run cashless payment plan sparks debate — 5ch: ‘Wipe out credit cards’

A post arguing that “the government should build a zero-fee national payment app and wipe out credit cards and PayPay” went viral on 5ch’s Nanademo Jikkyo G (Live News general) board. The complaint stems from the fact that cashless payments come with fees paid to credit card companies and QR-code payment providers, a burden that falls on stores and consumers alike. In response to the view that “if the government ran it, there’d be no need for fees,” other posters pushed back with arguments like “someone still has to cover development and operating costs” and “without fees to collect, there’s no incentive for the government to bother,” and the thread spiraled into a detailed debate comparing the cost of electronic payments to the cost of minting physical cash.

    1AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:31
A zero-fee national app would push cashless adoption through the roof overnight
    3AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:32
At this rate, they might actually pull this off someday

Zero fees will never happen — ad agencies wouldn't get their cut.

Probably because consumer advocacy groups have no real power here
    33AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:56
A 0.1% fee on electronic payments would be ideal.

Right now it's basically like private companies are stealing a 3% "electronic payment tax" from us.
    34AnonymousSep 13, 2026 16:57
Zero fees means zero profit for the government — so what's the point

The cost of minting a 1-yen coin = money that ends up circulating in the economy, whereas the cost of electronic payment fees = money the government siphons off just to keep the system running. Totally different things.

People keep saying it'll get skimmed off, but honestly the government should take a cut itself, steal market share from existing card companies, and funnel it into tax revenue
    64AnonymousSep 13, 2026 17:12
    Re: #63

If they actually did this, the Bank of Japan would issue cashless-specific government bonds at the same interest rate as regular bonds, have financial institutions underwrite them, and circulate that amount as digital yen — with every transaction properly logged to a server.

Functionally it's the same as printing ¥10,000 bills, except stashing cash under the mattress to dodge taxes would no longer work. Good for tracking welfare payments (namapo) and NPO subsidies too.

    115AnonymousSep 13, 2026 17:44
    Re: #111
I get that, but it puts the biggest burden on the store, though..

Background and key points of this debate

The Japanese government has set raising the cashless payment ratio as a policy goal, but the actual payment infrastructure is run by private companies such as credit card issuers and QR-code payment providers. The transaction fees charged to merchants are often covered by non-disclosed contracts, and the burden is said to fall especially hard on small and mid-sized stores. That’s the backdrop for the idea that “the government should just build a zero-fee payment network,” but the thread split over who would actually cover the operating costs — development, maintenance, fraud prevention, and so on. Whether it’s even fair to compare the cost of minting and circulating physical cash to electronic payment fees also became a point of contention, and part of the discussion devolved into something closer to personal attacks. It’s worth noting, since it’s an easy point of confusion, that while the Bank of Japan has been running phased pilot tests of a “digital yen” since 2021, this remains purely at the research stage — it is not, as some posters implied, a concrete plan for a zero-fee payment app like the one discussed in the thread.

※This article is compiled and summarized from the 5ch (Nanademo Jikkyo G) thread “Shouldn’t they build a national cashless system and wipe out credit cards and PayPay?“

  • Elderly Struggle with Touchscreen Ordering — 5ch: ‘Can’t See Tiny Text with Presbyopia’

A Yahoo News street interview reporting on elderly customers’ frustration with touchscreen ordering systems—now widespread at restaurants and chain stores—became a hot topic on 5ch’s “Whatever’s Live” board (Nanademo Jikkyo G). The article features comments from elderly people who want to order directly from staff but get told “please use the touchscreen,” which makes them angry. In the thread, sympathetic opinions—citing presbyopia (age-related farsightedness) making text hard to read, or difficulty keeping up with the interface—clashed with harsher takes dismissing it as simply a refusal to adapt. Many also pointed out that the tablets’ screens and navigation flow are just poorly designed to begin with.

(Person on the street, expressing opposition)

“With a big menu board you can just look and see it easily, right? That’s why I don’t like [tablets]. When I call out to the waitress, she just says ‘please use the tablet.’ That really ticks me off.”

“It’s such a hassle! Hard to use! It’s confusing. The screen keeps changing one after another. I just can’t keep up.”

    No, not that
    I mean the in-store tablets
As an example, take the tablets at Tenya [tempura chain]
On that tiny tablet the photos are printed ridiculously small
To the point where having a photo at all is pointless
And on top of that there's an "are you sure you want to start ordering?" button
plus a language selection screen, so you end up pressing about 4 buttons just to reach the menu
Tenya really ought to complain to the development company about that
but the higher-ups are probably elderly themselves and don't know any better, so it got approved as-is
    67AnonymousSep 13, 2026 17:28

and to order a beer you had to type in a command like this:

The GUI design is just broken
Especially Matsuya [beef bowl chain] a few years back
    It had hellishly bad usability
and became a huge topic of discussion because of it

Background and Key Points of This Topic

Touchscreen ordering spread rapidly at beef-bowl chains and family restaurants amid labor shortages and cost-cutting pressures, and because it’s such a familiar topic, opinions tend to split sharply. The thread’s debate largely breaks down into two camps: those sympathetic to physical and generational factors like presbyopia or unfamiliarity with devices, versus those who dismiss it as simply a lack of effort. What’s easy to overlook — as pointed out with the Tenya and Matsuya examples — is that flaws in the UI design itself, like tiny photos or too many steps to confirm an order, make things hard to use for everyone, not just the elderly. So while this looks like a simple “elderly vs. digital” clash, it’s worth keeping in mind that design failures are mixed in as well. It’s also worth noting that the original article’s street interviews reflect only a handful of voices and can’t be generalized as representative of elderly people as a whole.

*This article is excerpted and summarized from the 5ch (Nanademo Jikkyo G) thread “Elderly person: “Hey! Order!” Staff: “Please use the touchscreen.” Elderly person: “Like hell I’m doing something that much of a hassle!”.”

  • M!LK’s Hayato Sano Flashes a Big Smile at an Older Male Fan — 5ch: “Treat Female Fans Any Different and You’ll Get Roasted”

A post about M!LK’s Hayato Sano greeting an older male fan with a huge smile at a two-shot photo session held to celebrate the release of the new single “LOVE ENG!NE” became a hot topic on 5ch’s Hello! Project board. The fan reportedly hadn’t won a slot himself and ended up attending as a stand-in at his wife’s request. Commenters noted that many photos of young female fans taken at the same event showed a more restrained expression, pointing to an industry-specific dynamic where “idols get slammed if they treat female fans even slightly differently.” This sparked a stream of past examples from other groups — like Johnny’s talent and Dream5 — where idols reportedly let their guard down and showed more genuine expressions around male fans or staff. The thread also touched on opinions both for and against the whole business model of paid meet-and-greet events, and on the fairness of treating fans differently based on gender.

I figured maybe this guy applied on someone else's behalf, then found out only the actual applicant could attend, so he ended up going and taking the photo himself.
But if that's what happened, this line is confusing:

    Re: #59
You're being way too generous with that read.
It could just as easily look like he's not even into it.

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

Cheki (instant photo) sessions and two-shot meet-and-greets are a bonus-incentive sales scheme deeply embedded in Japan’s idol industry, directly tied to boosting CD and DVD sales — and commenters on the thread pointed out exactly that, calling it “doping sales figures through meet-and-greets.” Because so many of these photos end up posted on social media, any visible difference in how an idol treats different fans is easily read as favoritism, so many idols reportedly try to keep the same expression and demeanor with everyone. In this case, the reaction to a normally low-profile male fan — and someone attending as a stand-in, no less — happened to spread on social media, and was largely received positively as “fair” and “professional.” At the same time, some pushed back, saying his expression looked stiff and like he wasn’t really into it. It’s worth keeping in mind that this whole discussion grew out of a single social media post, and it’s unclear whether this reflects how he normally interacts with fans.

  • Streamer Daisuke Hori’s Broadcast Tops 100,000 Concurrent Viewers — But ‘Sleeping On Camera’ and ‘Padded Numbers’ Suspicions Swirl

Daisuke Hori’s ongoing endurance livestream became a hot topic after its concurrent viewer count topped 100,000. Comments questioning whether he’d dozed off piled up during the broadcast, with viewers debating “Is he really not sleeping?” and “Isn’t this bot activity — the viewer count swings look unnatural?” On the 5channel thread, reactions ranged from people simply enjoying the suspicions as a running joke, to dedicated haters throwing money at Super Chats just to keep investigating, all wrapped in wry commentary on how the stream’s numbers keep climbing precisely because of that controversy.

    117AnonymousSep 13, 2026 15:41
    Re: #112
Just now it dropped straight from over 30,000 to 20,000.

Background and Key Points of This Topic

Daisuke Hori is known as a self-proclaimed short sleeper who claims to sleep only 30 minutes a day, and long-form endurance livestreams are the backbone of his content. This latest broadcast also posted a huge number, topping 100,000 concurrent viewers, but on platforms like YouTube, displayed concurrent-viewer counts can swing by the thousands or tens of thousands within a short span — and without an explanation from the platform itself, it’s impossible for outsiders to say for certain whether that reflects normal viewer turnover or deliberate manipulation. What split opinion on the thread wasn’t so much whether he really dozed off, but rather which group was ultimately driving the stream’s numbers up: those enjoying the suspicions as a running joke, or the haters throwing Super Chat money at pursuing the truth. Since even donations sent to criticize him still count as revenue, it’s worth noting that criticism and profit tend to become two sides of the same coin — a structural pattern common to this type of endurance livestream.

Since my picks landed 4th and 5th, that's agonizingly close

    Background and context

The VIP board has a long-running culture of commentary threads built around a dedicated AA (ASCII-art) mascot character, and “Exploding Bettor” is one of them. When other regular AA characters show up and get turned away with “Take it to go,” that’s just a fixed running gag that keeps the thread’s camaraderie going — it’s not meant as a fight or a snub. On terminology: a “manbaken” (万馬券) refers to a winning bet that pays out over 10,000 yen, and the reaction to Hanshin Race 10 — “landing 4th and 5th makes it agonizingly close” — points to a heartbreak pattern unique to horse racing, where the horses you picked place well individually but the specific combination still misses. Worth noting: the thread as a whole isn’t promising any surefire betting method or guaranteed outcome — it’s simply a space for live commentary and casual chat. Also, an early post containing sexual content unrelated to the main topic appeared in the thread, but since it has no bearing on the thread’s theme or later developments, it has been left out of this article.

  • Successful Creators Show Promise From Childhood — 5ch Debates: “Your Instincts Fade After 30”

A thread titled “Successful creators have been succeeding since childhood” has been gaining traction on 5ch’s “Nandemo Jikkyo G” (anything-goes live board). Starting from the premise that only a tiny fraction of creators ever make it big, posters are divided over how talent relates to age. Against the anecdotal claim that “your sensibility declines once you’re past 30,” a string of rebuttals followed, arguing that people are just “covering for lost sensibility with technical skill” and that “even people who look like late bloomers had already accomplished something in their 20s.” The discussion also raised a distinction between the “genius type,” judged purely on their own sensibility, and the “logic type,” who work to meet a client’s requests — turning it into a debate that simple talent-based arguments can’t fully settle.

It's not about being "too late" — age just doesn't matter if you've got talent.
If you're talented, you can still make it starting now. If you're not, it doesn't matter how young you started, it won't help.

Actually, your creative instincts decline before your stamina does.

Anno and Tsurumaki have both said this before too — once you're past 30, you can never match the instincts you had in your 20s.
Everyone builds their own style by 30, or 35 at the latest, and after that they just keep dressing it up in different forms, papering over the decline with accumulated experience.

The sweet spot, where declining instincts and rising skill balance out, is your late 30s.

    After that, it's just downhill.
I'm past 40 now and I feel it myself.

    Re: #37
It's fine — people who are going to make it will land at least one hit no matter when they start.
Commercial creators have to keep cranking out multiple works until they die, and since each one's expected to top the last, of course ideas run dry, and stamina drops with age (less time for thinking, taking in new input, all of that) — that's just what people are calling "decline."
    40AnonymousSep 13, 2026 13:59

There are two types of creators.

The one everyone pictures is the genius type — someone who makes whatever they want purely from their own sensibility, and it just happens to get recognized by everyone else.
    That's your typical "artist."

On the other hand, 99.9% of creators in the world are what you'd call commercial creators — their job is to express a client's vision, bring out something's appeal, or grab people's attention.
This side is actually more about logic than sensibility.
So you can make things just by following that logic, even without being a genius.
Of course, sensibility still matters for judging good vs. bad within that logic, but it's secondary.
    I'm on this side.

Yeah, they always say "just get your hands moving." (i.e., stop overthinking, start doing)

Background and Key Points of the Discussion

This type of “talent is determined in childhood” argument often cites remarks from well-known anime directors like Hideaki Anno and Kazuya Tsurumaki, and their names came up in this thread too. However, the claim that “sensibility declines in your 30s” is based on individual creators’ personal impressions, not on any statistics or research. The thread split largely over a difference in framing — whether to talk about creators as monolithic “geniuses,” or as skilled professionals doing client work — and posters taking the latter view pushed back noticeably against the age-based pessimism. It’s also worth noting that since only creators who have actually made it are visible in the first place, it can look like “only people who showed promise young ever succeed,” which is arguably a form of survivorship bias.

  • Medaka and a White Cloud Minnow Crammed Into a Tiny 3-Liter Tank — 5ch: “Basically Keeping Them in a Toilet”

A post on 5ch’s Newsspeed VIP board described how, three days after putting one medaka (a small Japanese rice fish) and one white cloud mountain minnow (a small hardy minnow, called akahire in Japanese) into a tiny 3-liter tank, the water started to smell. The tank doubled as a plastic case normally used for keeping insects, with no filter or aeration installed. White cloud mountain minnows naturally prefer to swim in groups of three or more and are generally said to need at least 10–12 liters even in a small setup, so the thread argued over how much water was actually needed, how much waste the tank could handle, and whether a filter was necessary. In the end, the poster decided to move the fish into a 24-liter tank.

White cloud mountain minnows are schooling fish, so it's recommended to keep 3 or more (5–10 or so if you want to really enjoy watching them school).

    Rough guide to numbers

Minimum: 3 or more is best to prevent fighting and stress and satisfy their schooling instinct.

For a nice display of schooling: 5 or more, ideally around 10, gives you an impressive school to watch.

Guide by tank size: for a small tank (roughly 10–12L of water), around 3–5 fish is a manageable number.

    Re: #86
It doubles as both a bug case and a fish tank
Well, buying a glass tank would be best,
    but it can't be helped

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

In fishkeeping, it’s often said that survival depends less on the raw volume of water than on whether filtration (bacteria breaking down harmful substances) is in place. In this case, the 3-liter tank had neither aeration nor a filter, so without any way to break down waste, water quality can deteriorate rapidly within just a few days. The thread was also split over how much water the tank actually held — the poster claimed it held close to 20 liters, but other commenters raised doubts by converting that to plastic-bottle equivalents. It was also pointed out that white cloud mountain minnows naturally swim in groups rather than alone, making it an easy misconception to assume that keeping “just one” of each fish would be fine simply because the fish count was low.

  • No Shoes for Rainy Days: 5ch Says “Waterproof Spray Is Enough”

A thread titled “I don’t have shoes for rainy days,” posted on 5ch’s Hello! Project board, sparked a wide-ranging discussion about what to wear on wet-weather days. Solutions varied widely: some just spray waterproofing on their everyday sneakers, others keep stylish rain boots or Gore-Tex-equipped boots on standby, and still others simply don’t mind sandals getting wet. The question of how office workers handle rainy days also stirred debate, pitting those who say people still commute in leather shoes against those who insist sneaker commuting, even with a suit, is now the norm — highlighting just how varied people’s approaches to rainy-day footwear really are.

These days people wear sneakers even with a suit.
Even guys working in Marunouchi or Otemachi (Tokyo's business districts) do it.
The Health Ministry even recommends it.

What, you running a marathon in a downpour or something?
A little dampness isn't a problem at all.
    20AnonymousSep 13, 2026 09:42
Even if your shoes are waterproof, your pant cuffs still get soaked, so it barely matters unless you're wearing boots too.
    21AnonymousSep 13, 2026 09:44
    I wear Workman's side-gore boots.
Nobody cares what shoes you've got on when it's raining, so staying dry is all that matters.

    they've got decent waterproofing too.
    30AnonymousSep 13, 2026 09:49
On rainy days I wear the synthetic-leather ones
with real leather shoes you've gotta wipe them down and dry them out, right?
    32AnonymousSep 13, 2026 09:59
I swear by Workman's waterproof boots.

They're cheap, handle small puddles fine, and best of all, the inside stays dry.

Soggy socks in winter are the worst.

    Rain's just water.
As long as you watch your wallet and phone, and you've got an umbrella, it's no big deal.
If anything, it's nice that fewer people are out.

Do the barefoot-sandal people wash both their sandals and their feet every time they get home?
    48AnonymousSep 13, 2026 10:38
Probably washing them in a basin of water like it's the Edo period.
    49AnonymousSep 13, 2026 10:40

What kind of life are you living that you don't own a single pair of rainy-day shoes?

Background and key points of this topic

This thread appeared on 5ch’s Hello! Project board (a chat board for idol fans), and despite having nothing to do with idols, it centered on the everyday hassle of what to wear on your feet when it rains. The main point of contention was rainy-day commuting style: one camp insisted office workers still commute in leather shoes even in the rain, while another argued that commuting in sneakers, even with a suit on, is now the norm. One post claims the Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry even recommends this, but that’s just one poster’s opinion within the thread, not something backed by any cited official source, so it’s worth taking with a grain of salt. Meanwhile, several posters mentioned swearing by Workman’s waterproof boots and sneakers, suggesting the budget workwear brand is becoming a go-to for everyday rain gear. Solutions ranged from those who just spray on waterproofing, to those who keep stylish rain boots or Gore-Tex boots on hand, to those who don’t mind sandals getting wet — likely because, like carrying an umbrella, this is one of those minor everyday annoyances that’s not quite worth fully preparing for, yet still mildly bothersome.

  • Sakura Ishiyama Set to Appear on “Peko Mogu Kitchen” Next Week — 5ch: “She Landed a Good Gig”

A preview clip for the next episode of TV Tokyo’s cooking show “Peko Mogu Kitchen” showed Morning Musume。’25 member Sakura Ishiyama, sparking discussion on 5ch’s Hello! Project board. Rio Kitagawa has been serving as assistant on the September 13 broadcast, and the thread’s main focus became whether Kitagawa would continue next week or be swapped out for Ishiyama. Talk also touched on the show’s history as “Danshi Gohan,” hosted by Taichi Kokubun and Shimpei Kurihara, the fact that Kurihara is the son of cooking expert Harumi Kurihara, and past appearances by Ai Kago and Maki Goto — all framed around the topic of Hello! Project members’ outside work.

It was originally a cooking show called Danshi Gohan that Taichi Kokubun and Shimpei Kurihara ran together for about 10 years, but after Kokubun ended up the way he did, it became a solo cooking show for Kurihara

    Background and Key Points

“Peko Mogu Kitchen” is a spin-off of “Danshi Gohan,” the long-running cooking show hosted for years by Taichi Kokubun and Shimpei Kurihara; it launched after Kokubun’s departure, with Kurihara taking over as main host. Kurihara is the son of cooking expert Harumi Kurihara, and the show has previously featured guest appearances from Hello! Project OGs and current members alike, including Ai Kago and Maki Goto. The thread’s focus centers on whether Rio Kitagawa, who has served as assistant for the past two weeks, will continue next week or be swapped out for Sakura Ishiyama — though it’s worth noting this is speculation drawn from the show’s next-episode preview footage, not an official announcement.
