  • Juice=Juice’s New Radio Show ‘Juicy Talk’ Debuts With All 11 Current Members — 5ch Reacts: “All 11 of Them!?”

Hello! Project’s Juice=Juice launches a new radio program, “Juicy Talk,” on Nippon Broadcasting System tonight at 9 PM. For this milestone first episode, instead of the usual handful of members, all 11 current members are set to appear — an announcement that drew surprised reactions on 5ch’s Hello! Project board, with posters exclaiming “All 11 of them!?” At the same time, some voiced concern over the show’s prospects, pointing out that the drama “VIVANT” airs in the same Sunday 9 PM slot and that many of Nippon Broadcasting’s new shows have historically been short-lived — making for a thread mixing excitement with skepticism.

Background and Key Points of This Topic

Nippon Broadcasting has a history of newly launched regular programs getting canceled early due to scandals and other issues, and based on that track record, some thread participants voiced skepticism that this show might follow the same path. Opinions were also split on whether the show would be live or pre-recorded, with some posters guessing it must be pre-recorded given the absence of any email-submission announcement and the scheduled appearances of specific members. Listening to radiko’s simulcast requires a paid subscription (around 1000 yen a month), and some participants pointed out that others in the thread hadn’t signed up for it. It’s also worth noting that having all 11 current members appear from the very first episode is an unusual format for the show to run, which led to some concern about how little talk time each member would actually get.

*This article is compiled and summarized from the 5ch (Hello! Project board) thread “Starting Tonight at 9 PM: ‘Juice=Juice Juicy Talk’ — For this milestone first episode, amazingly… 【All members】will be appearing🎉✨.”

  • Angerme’s Fukuoka Show Sparks Debate Over Empty Seats and Ticket Sales

A report posted on 5ch’s Hello! Project board claimed that, 17 minutes before showtime, only about half the seats were filled at an Angerme concert in Fukuoka. The thread that followed compared Angerme’s draw to other groups under the same agency, like Juice=Juice, with posters laying out a table of each group’s 2026 tour attendance figures to debate whether the venue size had been set appropriately. Opinions split between those blaming the agency’s venue choice and those pushing back on the empty-seat report itself, and no consensus emerged.

@Angerme Fukuoka, 17 minutes before showtime. Looking down from above, it's a little over half full. With just over 10 minutes left, I wonder how much more will fill in.

Even at the peak of the so-called 'more-mi' hype bubble (slang for an inflated popularity spike), Juice=Juice could only fill about 1000 seats in Fukuoka
They can't draw more than that, so the agency allocated venues accordingly

Even looking at the regional turnout for the live-viewing screenings, it's at a fifth of Musume/Juice=Juice's level

You're slyly lumping Musume. and Juice=Juice together, but Musume.'s live-viewing numbers are from graduation concerts lol
From the Fukumura/Takeuchi graduations through the Ikuta/Jokura graduation, Musume. actually lost to Angerme in graduation-concert turnout (including live viewing)
There's no way there's a 5x gap between Musume. and Angerme
Though for the fall tour, Musume. currently has the edge thanks to the bonus of 4 new members joining plus Oda's graduation

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

Hello! Project (run by the Up-Front Group) manages multiple idol groups in parallel, allocating venue sizes for each tour based on a group’s popularity and where it stands in its graduation/addition cycle. One factor cited behind Angerme’s inconsistent turnout is that the group has had a steady stream of member graduations and additions in recent years, a structure where the lineup tends to shift again before a stable fanbase can fully form. The thread split into two camps: those who saw it as a misjudgment by the agency for booking a venue too big for the group’s current draw, and those who argued the empty-seat report itself was just mockery from rival groups’ fans and that actual turnout wasn’t much different. Note that the table comparing 2026 attendance figures by group that appears in the replies consists of self-tallied numbers with no stated methodology — for instance, whether same-day ticket sales or livestream viewership are included — so some caution around a simple side-by-side comparison is warranted; this caveat isn’t addressed in the original posts themselves.

  • AKB Handshake Event Line Sparks Debate Over Turnout Numbers

On October 4, 2026, a video showing the line outside AKB48’s “Tokyo Handshake Event” at Makuhari Messe was posted on social media and became a hot topic on 5ch’s Hello! Project board. The day also marked the first handshake event for the newly joined 22nd-generation members. While some in the thread viewed the line favorably, many argued it was “nothing special” compared to the line at a Juice=Juice event held around the same time, and the discussion escalated into comparisons using 2026 attendance rankings for other groups like Nogizaka46 and NiziU, splitting opinion on just how popular AKB really is.

    Seriously, this

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

AKB48’s handshake events have been a core revenue driver tied directly to CD sales since the early 2010s, and remain one of the group’s main promotional events today. The “stabbing incident” mentioned in the thread refers to an actual incident that occurred at a handshake event venue in Iwate Prefecture in May 2014; in its wake, security measures for handshake events — including the introduction of metal detectors — were strengthened, and the thread’s criticism that AKB “only keeps doing handshake events for the money” appears to reflect this background. Meanwhile, all the “attendance figures” circulating in the thread come from anonymous posts, and since the calculation methods, scope, and event format (a joint handshake event for the whole group versus individual members’ events) differ from group to group, simply comparing the raw numbers is difficult. The fact that this board draws a large Hello! Project fanbase is also likely one reason opinions on AKB were so divided.

*This article is an excerpt and summary based on the 5ch (Hello! Project board) thread “Today’s AKB handshake event is getting a lot of buzz for its popularity“.

  • Morning Musume ’26’s Morioka Show: Even the Matinee Leaves the 3rd Floor Nearly Empty — Low Turnout Sparks Buzz

Seating information shared on 5ch revealed that at Morning Musume ’26’s Morioka concert, even the matinee show left empty seats all the way to the back of the 2nd floor, while the evening show hadn’t sold tickets close to the last rows of the 1st floor either. The thread also compared annual attendance figures, pointing out that while Juice=Juice is doing well, Morning Musume and ANGERME are struggling, sparking a wider discussion about the gap between Hello! Project’s internal pecking order and actual attendance numbers. It was also noted that the situation didn’t improve even on a tour that added new members.

Looking at the empty seats on the 2nd floor and above at today's ANGERME show, I really felt that Juice=Juice's "packed house" effect still hasn't spread to Hello! Project as a whole. This is Nagoya, the cursed venue where even °C-ute at their peak couldn't fill this same Forest Hall, and Mai Yajima cried tears of frustration during the MC. How to fill this venue is actually a pretty important question.

    @
ANGERME's autumn tour "Fūrinkazan" was way too good. The current lineup's ANGERME is strong and way too cool. Such a waste that seats from row 3-4 on the 2nd floor and further back were empty.

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

As of 2026, Hello! Project runs several groups in parallel — Morning Musume ’26, Juice=Juice, ANGERME, Country Girls, and others — with each group’s tour venue size and number of shows decided by the agency. Note that figures raised in the thread, such as “Nogizaka46’s 2026 turnout of 500,000,” are unverified numbers posted on 5ch, not official published statistics. The discussion centered on the mismatch between the agency’s apparent obsession with maintaining a strict “pecking order” among groups — continuing to book large venues for groups with weak turnout — and the reality that even adding new members failed to boost attendance. Meanwhile, some see Juice=Juice’s strength as coming from steadily building popularity without relying on graduation-driven marketing.

  • Hello! Project’s 3 Groups Get Just 15 Minutes at TV Asahi’s Summer Fes — 5ch: ‘They Pulled the Ladder Out From Under Them’

It’s come to light that the Hello! Project acts (Juice=Juice, Angerme, and BEYOOOOONDS) were given a combined total of just 15 minutes of airtime on TV Asahi’s CS music special “Summer Fes,” sparking discussion on 5ch. Posts listing other groups’ slots showed some running over 60 minutes or even as long as 175 minutes, making Hello! Project’s share look strikingly thin by comparison. Opinions on the thread split over the reason — from speculation that “their agency just didn’t pay TV Asahi its due” to the harsher take that “it simply reflects their falling popularity.”

    78AnonymousOct 3, 2026 11:26
Re: #77 Has to be that — this garbage agency hasn't changed one bit since the days they crammed Berryz Koubou into a Morning Musume slot and made everyone recoil.

    Background and Points of Debate

“TV Asahi Summer Fes” is a CS broadcast special that presents music performances from multiple idol groups and artists, and the length of each act’s slot varies widely. Compared to the figures cited in post #53 — HKT at 50 minutes, MORESTAR at 175 minutes, SKE at 60 minutes — the 15 minutes given to the Hello! Project acts (Juice=Juice, Angerme, and BEYOOOOONDS combined) is indeed short. That said, explanations floated in the thread, such as “they didn’t pay TV Asahi,” are purely individual speculation, not an official statement from the broadcaster or the agency. Airtime allocation is often shaped less by ratings or popularity than by behind-the-scenes factors — negotiations over broadcast slots, sponsor arrangements, or whether footage is being held back for a CD bonus feature — so reading this 15-minute figure alone as proof of the group’s standing in popularity would be premature. It’s also worth noting that the thread never settled whether Angerme and BEYOOOOONDS were tacked onto a slot originally meant for Juice=Juice alone, or whether the three groups were bundled as one slot from the very start — that detail remains speculation.

After X (formerly Twitter) user “Tozama-san” posted that Tsubaki Factory’s new song “Ai = Un + En + On” was starting to take off on TikTok, reactions spread across 5ch’s Hello! Project board. In the thread, many commenters compared the numbers to the past achievements of Juice=Juice — a senior group within the same Hello! Project family — and pointed out Tsubaki Factory’s own weak name recognition and lackluster official promotion. Others urged caution about drawing simple comparisons, noting that the buzz is partly driven by underground idols spreading choreography videos, and that TikTok’s counting criteria may have changed since the earlier period. Opinions were split over how to separate the song’s actual quality from the raw growth in numbers.

    Re: #59
One of those songs has garbage numbers compared to the others.

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

Within the Hello! Project fan community, the number of times a song gets used on TikTok has become an established benchmark for whether a track is “taking off,” and the thread discussed the numbers largely by comparing them to Juice=Juice’s past track record. However, as one commenter (post #17) pointed out, TikTok’s own counting criteria have changed over time — an easy detail to overlook when making simple numerical comparisons, meaning the figures aren’t always measured on the same footing. There’s also the fact that underground idols and personal accounts using a song doesn’t necessarily translate into greater name recognition for the group itself; whether the trend actually spreads to the broader “oshi-katsu” (fan-support activity) crowd and general audiences is the next thing to watch. Where the thread split was over how to judge Tsubaki Factory’s underlying strength: some argued the song is good but the group’s numerical foundation is weak, while others countered that the current growth is impressive precisely because of that weak foundation.

  • ANGERME Leader Ise’s Plea to Bring ‘5 to 10 Friends Each’ Leaves Fans Baffled

ANGERME’s leader, Ise Suzuran (nicknamed “Rerapi”), urged fans ahead of the December 2 concert at Pia Arena MM, asking each fan to “please bring at least 5 to 10 friends.” The thread buzzed with anxiety over ticket sales, with many comparing the situation to fellow Hello! Project group Juice=Juice, which sold out both Budokan and Pia Arena using only fan-club members’ accompanying guests. Ise had also revealed dire ticket sales for the Okinawa show, admitting tickets “just aren’t selling at all,” prompting posts that questioned her pull as a leader and the group’s drawing power as a whole.

    Please come, everyone!!!!!

Danbara and Niinuma said the same thing, but Niinuma Kokoro's graduation concert and Juice=Juice's 2025 autumn tour were some of the best in recent memory, so they actually backed it up.
Wonder how it'll go for Ise.

Even those Hello! Project otaku can only bring one friend each.
You need to make a show regular people actually want to buy tickets for through a ticket agency.
    9AnonymousOct 3, 2026 07:49
Well, the whole idea behind "you won't regret it" is kind of negative framing to begin with.

Back in Wada's day as leader, she moved 200 comp tickets herself, so appealing earnestly to dedicated otaku can be an effective tactic —
but there are people like Kunio out there who slam Tsubaki-Factory for doing the same thing, calling it "touting like a hostess bar,"
so I'd say ANGERME should keep the hard-selling in moderation too.

Being honest here, it seems like tickets just aren't selling at all. It's entirely down to our own lack of drawing power, but if you have the time, I'd be so happy if you came to see us.
Filling a venue is really, truly difficult… which is exactly why, after traveling to so many different places, I've come to feel that people showing up to see us is a miracle.

    Re: #65
If turnout for the autumn tour is low, it could end up affecting the scale of Hashisako's tour too.

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

Pia Arena MM is a massive venue with a capacity of over 10,000, making it a scale that really tests a Hello! Project group’s solo drawing power. Juice=Juice, repeatedly cited in the thread, has had strong turnout for its tours and birthday events in recent years, while ANGERME has cycled through leaders in quick succession — Wada, Takeuchi, Kamikokuryo, and now Ise — with the group’s sense of unity and approach to publicity frequently drawn into comparison because of it. How many seats fan-club members’ plus-ones can fill is a shared challenge across all Hello! Project groups, and it’s not unusual for members themselves to appeal for turnout on blogs or radio shows. The split reaction to this particular appeal reflects just how divided fan expectations are about the group’s current state.

  • The Idol ‘Ice Age’ of 1988–1998: 5ch Says ‘Otome Juku Was Top Tier’

A thread titled “Idols Who Existed During the Idol Ice Age of Roughly 1988 to 1998” on 5ch’s Hello! Project board took off. Posters brought up names like Otome Juku, the limited-run unit “Cutie’s” made up of Nippon Columbia’s solo idols, and groups from the era like CoCo and ribbon. Some argued the ice age ended when SPEED debuted in ’98, while opinions split over whether people like Yuki Uchida, Maki Mochida, and Yumi Tanimura really counted as “idols.” Others were struck to realize that future A-list actresses such as Hiromi Nagasaku, Miki Nakatani, and Miho Kanno were idols back then.

    Re: #65
To begin with, idols' working conditions back then were insane — even if you stayed popular, five years in, your body and mind would be wrecked anyway

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

The “idol ice age” mentioned in this thread is a nickname for the lull between the winding-down of the 80s idol boom and the rise of acts like Morning Musume and SPEED in the late 90s. In post 28, posters pegged it at roughly 1990 to 1995. This period was centered on solo idols backed by major agencies, and it’s notable that future A-list actresses like Hiromi Nagasaku, Miki Nakatani, Miho Kanno, and Ryoko Shinohara were still working under an “idol” title at the time. Many names came up where posters disagreed on whether the person really counted as an “idol” — Hikaru Nishida, Yumi Tanimura, and Chisa Yokoyama among them — suggesting the line between titles was already blurry back then. As noted in post 30, this was also the period when the underground idol scene first took shape. The thread also touched on how idol careers were said to last about three years back then, given the grueling schedules that wore performers down physically and mentally — a contrast with today, where it’s common for idols to keep going well into their 30s.

  • Hello! Project Motto Thread on 5ch: “I’ll Decide Where I Bloom”

A casual chat thread popped up on 5ch asking what your personal motto would be if you joined Hello! Project. Replies ranged from genuine proverbs like “patience sits on a stone for three years” and “man’s fortune and misfortune are like the old man’s horse,” to twisted zingers that flip a proverb on its head — such as “I hate the saying ‘bloom where you’re planted’ — I’ll decide where I bloom myself” — all the way to a line lifted straight from the Western video game Skyrim. Background and Talking Points

“Personal motto” threads are a recurring format on boards where Hello! Project fans gather, and this one again blends genuine proverbs — like “patience sits on a stone for three years” and “man’s fortune and misfortune are like the old man’s horse” — with twists and in-jokes made up by the fans themselves. What stands out is how wildly the sources range: “I took an arrow to the knee” is the famous stock line from the Western video game Skyrim, and another post references the Ed Sheeran cancellation controversy — sourced material with nothing to do with idol culture, dropped in without warning, which leaves some posts hard to parse unless you already know the reference. Worth noting, though, is that the thread never turns into an actual argument; it stays purely a game of spotting the wittiest line.

A few notes on translation choices: “名無し募集中。。。” (literally “Anonymous wanted…”) is this board’s default placeholder username, rendered simply as “Anonymous.” Several posts (#20, #36, #43, #60, #64) reference in-jokes, nicknames, or game/mahjong jargon I couldn’t confidently identify — I flagged those as unclear rather than guessing at specifics.
  • Tsubaki Factory’s 3 Rookies Sell Out Their First Birthday Events — 5ch: “Hello! Project Otaku Are All About Skill”

The official account announced that Tsubaki Factory’s Nishimura Itsuki’s first birthday event, held on October 9 at Starlight Theater, sold out both shows through same-day ticket reservations alone. The thread also noted that the first birthday events for Hayashi and Nagano, held around the same time, had likewise sold out completely, with commenters praising all three rookies for getting off to a strong start together. At the same time, some pointed out that since the guests included fellow group member “King” and Juice=Juice’s "Nina", the turnout might owe more to the guests’ pulling power than to the birthday member’s own popularity — sparking some back-and-forth about differences in venue capacity.

Regarding the "Tsubaki Factory Nishimura Itsuki Birthday Event 2026" being held on Friday, October 9 at Starlight Theater: same-day ticket reservations have already reached the planned capacity, so there will be no same-day ticket sales at the venue. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

King! King! My number one! (a cutesy spelling of "ichioshi" — "my favorite")
    7AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:19
The King-and-Nina combo is just unfair.
    9AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:23
That's because Tsubaki has a member serving as MC — it's basically a two-for-one turnout boost. Other groups either have the "Jōjō Gundan" (a go-to emcee crew) or no MC at all.
    10AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:26
Tsubaki members are pretty strong when it comes to birthday events
There's a clear gap in venue capacity compared to Biolo (likely another Hello! Project act).
    11AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:32
Why didn't they just keep it secret?
Now that they've named names, of course the "heard-it-leaked" newbies are gonna show up.
    16AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:34
Amazing — now Marin can graduate without any regrets.
    17AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:34
The first round is secret, technically.
    37AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:09
    Re: #17
    It's not secret though.
    18AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:35
Looks like King alone has more otaku than all three Saniko members combined (Saniko = a trio nickname).
    22AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:41
If it's King, the place would've sold out even without Nina.
    23AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:41
That's because Hayashi is the one who came up with the nickname "King."
    25AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:42
Hayashi, Nishimura, and Nagano all sold out their first birthday events — impressive.
Guess Hello! Project otaku really are all about skill after all.
    27AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:45
Just make every Tsubaki event have Niai as the guest from now on.
    28AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:45
Resa and Doigo are stronger than Hayashi, aren't they? (fan nicknames)
    30AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:51
    Re: #28
    That's a stretch.
    29AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:49
Go off to BEYOOOOONDS with a smile.
    31AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:52
For Hayashi's next one, I think they could bump it up to Funabori (a bigger venue).
    34AnonymousOct 2, 2026 17:57
Juice=Juice's group popularity is so overwhelming now that you can't even gauge individual members' popularity anymore.
    39AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:15
Motchi: Yurakucho Asahi Hall, 772 seats
Momoya: Square Ebara, 362 seats ←lolololol
    King: Airship Theater, 508 seats

    Re: #39
She gets underrated just for being in Angerme.
    That agency's trash as always.
    57AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:33
    Re: #39
Niai did 3 shows, including one in Nagoya, you know.
She actually drew the biggest crowd of anyone.
    Did you know that?
    42AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:21
All three selling out is impressive.
It's rare for a whole batch of rookies to get off to such a good start together like this.
    43AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:23
Nina's just a victim of the whole-hall block booking.
    46AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:26
Wondered what was up with King, and
turns out Hayashi's the guest. Total cheat code.
    49AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:27
King's "bangs guy" power really worked (a running joke about King's hairstyle).
    50AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:28
    Tsubaki's riding on Juice=Juice's coattails.
Even the top-liked TikToks are mostly Juice-related.
    51AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:29
King hinted at the MC lineup,
posted that you'd be missing out if you don't come,
kept hyping it up after Nina was announced —

    it's completely riding on Nina.
    54AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:30
Doing well despite being the same week as Marin's event.
    55AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:30
Nagano sold out both shows with no second round and no guest.
    56AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:31
Nagano's super popular, and yet she's getting fire-saled in Fukuoka lol
    58AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:33
Itsuki, why'd you announce Hayashi as a guest?
Now even the unwanted "heard-it-leaked" newbies are gonna show up.
    59AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:34
At the first-round stage it was only mentioned vaguely on the blog,
so it barely reached Juice=Juice fans.
    61AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:35
People who aren't even in the fan club should stop stirring up pointless rivalry drama lol
    67AnonymousOct 2, 2026 18:52

Background and Key Points of This Topic

Hello! Project’s “birthday events” are solo shows held for the member whose birthday it is, rather than the whole group — since they depend less on other members, the birthday member’s own drawing power tends to show up directly in the numbers. That’s why the thread kept citing venue capacities (772, 362, 508 seats, and so on): a “sellout” can mean very different things depending on the size of the hall. There were also cases where the guests were fellow group members or Juice=Juice members, which split opinion in the thread over whether the turnout reflected the guest’s pull or the birthday member’s own popularity.
