  • “No Romantic Feelings,” Says Ryoki Miyama — Stalking Allegations Surface Over 100+ Daily LINE/DM Messages

In the ongoing “double affair” scandal involving former BE:FIRST member Ryoki Miyama and former Takarazuka top musume-yaku Maria Kano, new reports allege that Miyama sent Kano over 100 LINE messages and DMs a day — fueling “stalker” accusations. Miyama’s side reportedly insists there were “no romantic feelings” involved, but the tabloid also published excerpts of passionate LINE exchanges between the two, prompting a wave of skepticism on 5ch, with users saying “claiming she was forced to write that is a stretch.”

It wasn’t simply a case of mutual attraction

The “double affair” scandal involving former BE:FIRST member and actor Ryoki Miyama (27) and former Takarazuka Revue top musume-yaku Maria Kano (33) first surfaced after the two co-starred in the musical “Crash Landing on You.” The story sparked a huge reaction, but as reporting continued,

“This wasn’t just an affair — could there have been stalker-like behavior on Miyama’s part?”

    Background and Key Points

“No Romantic Feelings,” Says Ryoki Miyama — Stalking Allegations Surface Over 100+ Daily LINE/DM Messages

For readers unfamiliar with the Japanese entertainment ecosystem here: BE:FIRST is a major boy band from the SKY-HI-produced audition project “THE FIRST,” and Ryoki Miyama left the group in 2023 to pursue acting. Takarazuka Revue is the all-female musical theater troupe where performers are trained to play either male (otoko-yaku) or female (musume-yaku) roles for their entire career; a “top musume-yaku” like Maria Kano occupies one of the company’s most senior, publicly recognizable positions, making her departure and any scandal involving her unusually high-profile. Japanese tabloid culture (here, Weekly Gendai via FRIDAY) frequently drives these “story” scandals with leaked private message logs, which then get relitigated on 5ch — Japan’s largest anonymous forum network, descended from 2channel, where entertainment-news threads like this one function as a running public jury.

The thread’s actual fault line isn’t whether an affair happened — posters broadly accept that it did — but whether Miyama’s “no romantic feelings, this was one-sided” defense is credible given that the leaked LINE messages appear to show Kano reciprocating enthusiastically. Posts #8, #9, and #125 explicitly mock the idea that she was “forced” to write flirtatious texts, which is the crux of the disagreement: is this a mutual affair with a stalking angle grafted on to protect one party, or genuine one-sided stalking despite the messages?

What’s easy to miss: no one in the thread addresses whether either party was married at the time (the “wife” reference in #50 is Miyama’s own deflection line, not confirmed fact), nor is there any independent verification that the leaked texts are authentic — the “fabricated” theory in #8 is raised and then dropped without scrutiny.

  • Lions Win 4th Straight, Fighters Drop 3rd in a Row — Taira Goes 7 Scoreless, Nakata Drives in 3 on 2 Hits

The Seibu Lions beat the Fighters 3-1, extending their winning streak to four games, while the Nippon-Ham Fighters fell to their third straight loss. Starter Taira turned in a strong outing, holding the Fighters scoreless over seven innings, and Nakata led the offense with 2 hits and 3 RBIs.

Beyond the usual fan-vs-fan trash talk, the thread also lit up over the legality of Otsuka’s borderline slide, suspicions that Reyes was stealing signs, and comparisons between manager Shinjo’s and manager Nishiguchi’s in-game strategy.

You're the one getting fully wrecked and running off from threads everywhere, every single day

    Background and Key Points

The Pacific League context matters here: Seibu Lions vs. Nippon-Ham Fighters is a rivalry weighted by recent history — Fighters manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo, who markets himself as “BIG BOSS,” took the job promising a rebuild after years of mediocrity, while Lions skipper Nishiguchi is a former catcher steering a team trying to claw back into pennant contention despite a stated “magic number” deficit late in the season. NPB teams track a literal magic number (the combination of their wins and a rival’s losses needed to clinch), which is why posters debate whether Seibu’s run is a real comeback push or a lost cause.

The thread’s actual disagreement isn’t really about the box score — Taira’s scoreless start and Nakata’s 3 RBIs go almost unmentioned after the opening posts. The real split is fan identity: whether the Fighters (“Ham-kasu,” a derisive nickname built on the team’s old “Nippon-Ham” meat-processing sponsor) deserve mockery for underperforming under Shinjo’s aggressive bullpen usage, versus whether Seibu fans have any right to gloat given their own standings. A secondary flashpoint is Otsuka’s slide, which one side calls a dangerous “spike” and the other treats as ordinary hustle.

What outside readers will likely misread is the sign-stealing tangent — it’s not an accusation against anyone in this game, but a recycled jab referencing the SoftBank Hawks’ unrelated sign-stealing controversy, dragged in purely as a rival-bashing meme rather than a real allegation.

*This article is compiled and summarized from excerpts of the 5ch (Geinou/Sports News+) thread “[Baseball] Pacific League L 3-1 F [8/25] Seibu win 4th straight, Taira 7 scoreless innings, Nakata 2 hits 3 RBIs, Nippon-Ham drop 3rd in a row.”

  • JAL Crash: Ministry to Disclose Repair-Error Details — 5ch: ‘Release the Voice Recorder First’

Regarding the Boeing repair error that caused the 1985 Japan Airlines crash, Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) has signaled plans to disclose the background of how the mistake occurred. This would mark the first time the Japanese government has clarified the circumstances behind the error, and on 5ch, comments poured in questioning whether the repair mistake was really the cause of the crash, alongside calls for the full release of the voice recorder.

Regarding the repair error by U.S.-based Boeing that caused the Japan Airlines crash (August 1985), Transport Minister Yasushi Kaneko stated at a post-cabinet meeting press conference on the 25th that MLIT intends to disclose the “background circumstances behind the mistake,” which the ministry has been investigating through interviews with Boeing and others.

Kaneko stated clearly, “We are currently reviewing the results obtained and confirming them ahead of disclosure. Once preparations are complete, we intend to release the findings.” If realized, this would be the first time the Japanese government has investigated and disclosed the background of the repair error.

In this accident, investigations at the time determined that the repair error was the cause, but since interviews with Boeing could not be conducted, the background — why the mistake occurred — remained unknown for many years. However, in August last year, media reports revealed that Boeing had referenced the background of the repair error on its own company website. MLIT’s Civil Aviation Bureau then began interviewing Boeing and the FAA (U.S. Federal Aviation Administration) to confirm the facts.

    Background and Key Points

The August 1985 crash referenced here is Japan Airlines Flight 123, a Boeing 747SR that struck Mount Osutaka in Gunma Prefecture, killing 520 of the 524 aboard — still the deadliest single-aircraft accident in aviation history. Japan’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission concluded that a botched 1978 tailstrike repair, carried out by Boeing technicians, caused the aft pressure bulkhead to fail in flight, severing hydraulic lines and the vertical stabilizer. Because Boeing is a U.S. company, Japanese investigators at the time had no authority to compel interviews with the technicians involved, leaving the human and procedural “why” behind the error undocumented in any Japanese government record for nearly four decades — which is the gap MLIT is now trying to close.

The thread’s real fault line isn’t over whether MLIT should release its findings, but over whether the repair-error explanation is even true. Posters split between accepting the official bulkhead-failure account and floating alternative theories (military strike, JSDF involvement, undisclosed design defects), each contesting specific physical evidence — recorder data, fragment coloration, damage direction — rather than the disclosure news itself.

What the thread misses is that flight recorder data from JAL123 has, in fact, already been analyzed and partly published by the investigation commission; the “voice recorder” posters demand full disclosure of remains legally in JAL’s custody but has never been fully released to the public, a practice distinct from any binding international treaty obligation. Readers should also know that Boeing’s own website reportedly already carried an account of the repair background — this MLIT effort is about official Japanese government confirmation, not new information.

Lotte, quit trying out your young guys against a team that's still fighting for the pennant.
We're busting our butts out here, and if a rival pulls this kind of throwaway effort against us, it could cost us the title.
Saburo (Lotte's manager) seriously needs to think about that.
Act with the whole league in mind for once.

    Re: #31
Can't be helped, the guy's on his way out (retiring).
Kind of sad that Lotte's so weak they're letting a player like that drive in runs.

    Background and Key Points

The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks and Chiba Lotte Marines are both Pacific League clubs in Nippon Professional Baseball’s 143-game season, which runs roughly April through October with no wild-card play-in – final standings alone decide the pennant. That structural fact is what gives the thread its edge: unlike MLB, there is no draft-lottery incentive to “tank,” so any team fielding a weakened lineup in August is read purely as a favor (or disservice) to a rival still chasing the title, not as a rebuilding strategy. Moinelo is one of Fukuoka’s veteran Cuban import pitchers, and Kimiyasu Kokubo, the manager quoted making the Nakamura pinch-hit call, is a Hall-of-Fame-caliber figure who played for the Hawks in the ’90s-2000s – his decisions carry outsized scrutiny.

The disagreement in the thread isn’t really about the 9-0 score itself; it’s about two separate personnel choices being read through a shared lens of “is this team taking the race seriously.” One camp objects to Lotte manager Saburo trying out young/inexperienced players against a contender, framing it as unfair to the other Pacific League teams still fighting for position. A second, softer strand defends using Akira Nakamura – described as on his way out, i.e. retiring – as a pinch hitter in a low-stakes, already-decided game, seeing it as an appropriate low-risk moment for a fading veteran rather than a competitive snub.

What outside readers may miss is that “still in the pennant race” is asserted by posters, not backed by any standings figures in the source article – so the sense of urgency driving the criticism of Lotte is itself unverified within the thread.

*This article is a condensed summary of the 5channel (Geinou/Sports News+) thread “[Baseball] Pacific League M 0-9 H [8/25] Hawks win again — Moinelo throws complete-game shutout, offense scores 5 in the first, Hirose’s bases-clearing double, Lotte’s Yoshikawa walks 6, allows 7.”

  • “PS6 Handheld Will Make Switch 2 Look Prehistoric,” Claims Overseas Post — Skeptics Push Back

An overseas X (formerly Twitter) account posted that “the PS6’s handheld will have graphics so overwhelming it’ll make the Switch 2 look prehistoric,” sparking discussion on 5ch’s game industry board (Geha). Many replies pointed out that the poster is just a fan with no ties to gaming media or any track record in analysis, while others questioned the claim’s feasibility on technical grounds, citing price, heat output, and differences in semiconductor process.

The PS6 will be a handheld that makes the Switch 2 look primitive.

That’s because it’ll pack PS6-level graphics on a handheld screen, while the Switch 2 only has PS4 Pro-level graphics.

Nintendo will always hold onto its position thanks to its wonderful exclusive titles, but compared to PlayStation it’ll remain old-fashioned.

If the goal's set too high, just lower the goal to eye level
    Simple, right?

    Background and Key Points

Sony has never announced a PS6, let alone a PS6 handheld — the only mass-market Sony “portable” console history offers is the PS Vita (2011, killed off by 2019) and, more recently, the PS Portal (2023), which is not a standalone console but a streaming client that needs a PS5 and a network connection to run anything. The Switch 2, by contrast, is a real, shipped product: a self-contained handheld/dockable hybrid built on an Nvidia chip widely reported to be fabbed on an older (roughly Samsung 8nm-class) process, which is why posters treat “PS4 Pro-level” as a reasonable ceiling for its graphics. Bridging that to “PS6-level” performance in a fan-sized, battery-powered device is a real engineering problem: smaller nodes (3nm, 2nm) cut power draw per transistor, but cooling, battery capacity, and cost all scale badly once you chase console-class GPUs in a handheld shell — which is exactly why commenters brought up heat, price, and process generation rather than raw specs.

The thread didn’t split over whether Sony could technically build something powerful — it split over credibility: is a claim from an anonymous fan account with no journalism track record worth treating as insider information at all, versus dismissing it outright as fanboy wish-casting. Nobody in the thread engaged with the more basic fact that no PS6 hardware, portable or otherwise, has been confirmed by Sony in any form, timeline, or spec — so the entire debate about nanometers and dock designs is built on a premise the original poster invented, not on anything Sony has disclosed.

    Re: #119
There's no other show in that timeslot that's Kansai-only broadcast

    Background and Key Points

ABC (Asahi Broadcasting Corporation) is Asahi Shimbun/TV Asahi’s “junsei-key” affiliate in Osaka — one of the five Kansai-based commercial stations that carry Tokyo’s TV Asahi network programming but operate as fully independent companies with their own hiring, pay scales, and announcer rosters. Because Japan’s broadcasting industry is built around a small number of elite “key stations” (Fuji, TBS, NTV, TV Asahi, TV Tokyo) headquartered in Tokyo, regional affiliates like ABC are often assumed to be a consolation prize for announcers who couldn’t land a Tokyo job. In-house marriages between announcers, or between an announcer and other station staff, are a well-documented pattern at Japanese broadcasters generally, not unique to Osaka.

The thread’s real disagreement was over status and money, not the marriage itself: several posters insisted key-station announcers look down on their regional counterparts, while others countered that ABC specifically pays better than Tokyo Asahi affiliates, citing other Kansai in-house couples (Kogake/Takeda, Yomiuri TV’s Toratani) as evidence that joining a Osaka station is not a fallback but sometimes a deliberate, better-paid choice.

What outside readers likely miss is that ABC actually split its television and radio operations into separate companies in 2018, and posters flagged (without resolving) that this restructuring may have reduced the pay premium that used to make ABC attractive — meaning the “ABC pays more than Tokyo” claim repeated throughout the thread may already be outdated. The board also never explains why Kansai announcer culture skews toward in-house pairings or marriages to Yoshimoto comedians, a regional entertainment-industry dynamic tied to Osaka’s distinct comedy/broadcasting ecosystem that has no real Tokyo equivalent.

Actress Naoko Iijima (58) appeared on TOKYO FM’s “TOKYO SPEAKEASY” (airing late night Mon-Thu at 1:00 AM), broadcast in the small hours of the 24th. She candidly admitted to not actually liking a couple of Japan’s beloved national foods.

That day’s episode also featured lyricist and music producer Yasushi Akimoto. During a chat about food, Akimoto asked, “Can you make curry?” Iijima laughed and replied, “Curry? Well, the recipe’s written right there on the back of the box,” before admitting, “Honestly, I probably only make curry about once a year.”

    Re: #69
    Re: #102
If Kiyoken's shumai (a famous Yokohama shumai brand) counted, shumai would've been a national dish too

    Background and Key Points

Curry rice and gyoza both carry the informal label *kokuminshoku* (“national dish”) in Japan, but neither originated there. Curry arrived via the British Royal Navy in the Meiji era, adapted from Anglo-Indian cuisine, and was standardized for home cooking through boxed roux blocks (S&B’s Golden Curry being the classic example) that turned a slow-simmered dish into a pantry staple served over rice in households, school cafeterias, and government canteens. Gyoza, meanwhile, is a Chinese import popularized after WWII by Japanese repatriates from Manchuria, and pan-fried gyoza in particular became a fixture of home cooking and casual dining, with cities like Utsunomiya and Hamamatsu still competing over the “gyoza capital” title. Iijima, a 58-year-old actress and former idol singer, admitting she barely cooks either dish is notable precisely because both are marketed as universally loved comfort food.

The thread didn’t really split over whether to defend or pile on Iijima — most posters used her comment as a springboard to confess their own dislikes, extending the list well beyond curry and gyoza to ramen, sushi, and yakiniku. Where actual disagreement emerged was homemade versus restaurant curry: some insisted outside curry tastes better, others called it overpriced and starchy compared to a home version loaded with fresh vegetables and meat.

What the thread never addresses is why curry disagrees with some people’s stomachs — one reply notes Japanese curry roux is packed with animal fat, which is true and a likely reason instant roux causes digestive discomfort for sensitive eaters, but no one follows up on it.

  • Pushback Piles Up Against “No Manga Has a Strong Old Lady” — 5ch Users Name Their Favorite Badass Grannies

It started with a post claiming “there are works with strong old men, but none with strong old women” — and 5ch users responded by rattling off example after example, from Frieren to Umineko no Naku Koro ni’s Featherine to the female characters in Mangatarou’s manga.

Partway through, the discussion branched into how few “auntie” (middle-aged woman, おばさん) characters there are, with posters trading familiar examples like Nobita’s mom from Doraemon and the long-running drama Wataru Seken wa Oni Bakari.

She's only strong at table tennis, otherwise she's a total weakling

    Background and Key Points

The “hidden-power elder” is a stock trope in Japanese manga and martial-arts fiction going back decades — the frail-looking old master (think karate or aikido dojo stories) who turns out to be the deadliest fighter around, a trope rooted in the cultural respect for age and experience in Japan’s martial traditions. That’s why the original claim — that strong old men exist but strong old women don’t — collapsed almost instantly: obaa-san (granny) characters with cheat-level powers are common enough that posters could list them faster than the thread could keep up, from Featherine’s god-tier reality manipulation to the time-stopping librarian in Bantorra.

What the thread actually split on wasn’t grannies at all — it shifted to oba-san, “aunties,” meaning ordinary middle-aged women rather than elderly ones. That’s the demographic posters agreed is genuinely rare as a strong character type, and multiple replies (Gagaran, Nobita’s mom, the Doraemon example) struggled to produce more than a handful of names, unlike the flood of granny examples.

What outside readers may miss: obaa-san and oba-san are nearly homophones in English transliteration but denote very different life stages and character archetypes in Japanese media — the thread’s pivot hinges entirely on that distinction, which is easy to lose in translation. Also unmentioned is the industry-side reason for the auntie gap: most manga and anime are written for young male or young female demographics (shonen/shojo/seinen), so characters are skewed toward youth by market convention, not because writers can’t imagine a formidable 40-something woman — elderly characters, by contrast, get a pass as sages or comic relief regardless of gender.

The fact that this kind of thing runs rampant shows the fanbase skews pretty narrow. And tolerating this vibe just makes it feel like an insular little village culture.

    Background and Key Points

FC Tokyo is one of J.League’s Tokyo-based clubs, playing out of Ajinomoto Stadium in Chofu; the warning notice cited both online abuse of individual players and chant parodies mocking the names of sponsor/rival-linked companies and organizations. The “Gasu” jab referenced in the thread traces to Tokyo Gas, a former major sponsor, and reflects a long-running strain of parody chants aimed at rivals like Tokyo Verdy and Machida Zelvia — the “Verdy Kawasaki” taunt one poster describes dates back to Verdy’s own franchise history, when the club was known as Yomiuri/Verdy Kawasaki before relocating to Tokyo, a piece of trivia several posters flagged as widely forgotten by younger fans. J.League clubs, like most Japanese pro sports organizations, tend to issue soft, formally-worded appeals rather than concrete sanctions when addressing fan misconduct, which is what triggered the mockery in the thread.

The split wasn’t over whether the incidents happened, but over whether insulting chants are a legitimate part of soccer support culture or a genuine problem — several posters argued that rivalry-based trash talk is standard practice worldwide (invoking the Premier League) and even in Japanese baseball fandom, while others said normalizing it just breeds insular, “village-like” fan culture and open animosity, comparing it unfavorably to Hanshin Tigers baseball fans, long stereotyped as Japan’s rowdiest.

What’s easy to miss is that this notice names companies and organizations, not just individuals — meaning FC Tokyo is likely responding to potential defamation or corporate-sponsor liability exposure, not simply hurt feelings, which is a harder-edged legal concern than the thread’s joking tone suggests.

This article is compiled from excerpts and a summary of the 5ch (Geinou/Sports News+) thread “[J.League] FC Tokyo Issues Statement Over “Insulting Chant Parodies” and Abuse: “As a Club, We Cannot Overlook This” / “Please, Absolutely Stop”.”

    42AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:17
Matagi would probably pitch better than this
    47AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:18
I think it's fine to pull him
Don't want a guy like this getting the win
    50AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:19
Waiting until he gets hit to change pitchers is insane, Hashigami
    57AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:19
Can't they even bring up Nishidate yet?
    59AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:20
Still holding back, huh — they won't pull him before he gets hit
    60AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:20
Even if it means writing off the start of this 6-game stretch, it's all about the head-to-head this weekend
Though apparently that's "Ma-kun's" deal (a player nickname)
    64AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:21
What's Imae even saying lol — "it was tough because they had run support"? lol
    65AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:21
Ikeyama, send in a pinch hitter already lol
    85AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:23
    Re: #65
Their game sense is just different from our team's
    67AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:21
    Huh
I relaxed for a bit, took a bath, came back, and now there's this score gap
    101AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:25
It'd help if Morita and Akaboshi could go multiple innings
but they've been pitching nonstop lately
    107AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:25
    Re: #101
Those two have been mismanaged this whole time
    136AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:34
    Chunichi
Runners on 1st and 3rd, nobody out, no runs scored lol
    175AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:42
Come on, remember Naoki once in a while — you guys are heartless
    183AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:43
    Re: #175
Hurry up and heal that groin
then they can try Urata at shortstop
    200AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:45
Got spooked by Ura-chan (nickname for Urata)
    214AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:46
    Re: #200
Might've panicked a bit just because it was Urata
    201AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:45
    All luck today, George lol
    Lucky 2 RBI
    219AnonymousAug 25, 2026 19:47
    Re: #201
That was an error, so it shouldn't count as an RBI, right?

    Background and Key Points

Norimoto here is Takahiro Norimoto, the former Rakuten Eagles ace (2021 Pacific League MVP) who signed with the Yomiuri Giants as a free agent for 2024, giving him unusual authority in fans’ eyes even when he struggles. The venue, Jingu Stadium, is the Tokyo Yakult Swallows’ home park, so this was a road start for Giants pitching. Two details need unpacking for non-Japanese readers: the thread is a “sailback” or 采配 (saihai) thread — literally about in-game managerial calls like pinch hitters and pitching changes — not about an actual interim or “acting” manager; the Giants’ real manager in this period is Shinnosuke Abe. And it’s hosted on 5ch’s Hello! Project (idol fandom) board, a common workaround Japanese baseball fans use to dodge the post-rate limits on official livestream boards during real-time games, which is why the thread has reached number 113.

The actual disagreement in the thread wasn’t simply “pull him” versus “leave him in” — it was whether traffic on the bases even mattered. Most posters wanted Norimoto out the moment he loaded bases, but >>46 pushed back that walks and hits are irrelevant “as long as you hold them to zero,” a scoreless-innings-only view of pitching success that others didn’t fully rebut.

What’s easy to miss: nothing in the thread confirms whether Norimoto was actually removed or what the final score was — this is a live snapshot, not a recap, so posters were reacting to incomplete, real-time information, arguing over a decision the manager hadn’t yet made.
