The story
A regular user posted on X (formerly Twitter) saying “I want a Switch 2 because I want to play Monster Hunter Wilds and Resident Evil,” and was immediately flooded with replies insisting a PS5 would be better. The poster pushed back, saying “What I want is my own business — just leave me alone,” and the exchange blew up into a hot topic on 5ch’s Hardware/Industry (Geha) board. In the thread, posters speculated about reasons the original user never even mentioned — portability, Nintendo exclusives, whether they even own a TV — and piled criticism on people who push an unsolicited console switch on someone. Others defended the repliers, saying they were just trying to point out the performance gap, leaving opinion split down the middle.

What people said
Not getting that, and shoving a different console on him anyway, is exactly what makes PS-pushers PS-pushers
Could be a bunch of reasons — he already owns a Switch, he wants to play lying down, he says there's a ton of other software he wants that's only on Switch, stuff like that. It's less that he doesn't want a PS5 and more that he's simply not thinking outside the Switch ecosystem at all
For most people, a Switch 2 that also plays Nintendo games and goes portable is obviously the better pick
And anyone who cares that much about a gap that tiny has already gone and bought a gaming PC
Exactly this lol
They line up footage going "Look, 5:12 in! Fewer assets! Weak hardware!"
Get a grip lol
Meanwhile these socially stunted guys pushing the otaku-coded PS5 just because the graphics are nicer — don't they have anything else going on in their lives besides gaming?
Some people genuinely prefer the Switch 2, so quit shoving an unpopular console on them
Nabezo (well-known streamer): "No clutter from unnecessary detail — the Switch 2 version's actually easier to read"
Average person: "I'm not even interested in a PS5, it was never on the table to begin with"
Like, have these people ever actually talked to another human being?
And the worst part is they genuinely seem to think, "He must just be clueless about tech and doesn't realize the Switch 2 is weaker with worse graphics and frame rate — I'd better enlighten him!" …yikes
This guy's basically saying:
"I want to play Monster Hunter Wilds!"
"I want to play Resident Evil 7, 8, and 9!"
"There's just too many games I want to play!! 😆"
…and yet he still hasn't bought the hardware to actually play any of the games he wants. Something about this whole thing smells off
Probably just doesn't have the time
Yeah, back then there were actually a lot of people like that in real life too
Always talking a mile a minute about it, lol
That reminds me — when Capcom later brought Monster Hunter to the 3DS, the GK (Sony fanboys) piled on so hard the company president reportedly lost it.
Not sure if that's why, but Monster Hunter never did end up coming to the Vita
They can't even grasp that it was never in the running to begin with
I could even give them the benefit of the doubt if they kindly said something like "Couldn't you play that lineup on PS5 too?" — but no, these guys always, always toss in some little dig mocking the Switch 2
And seriously, who walks away with a good impression of someone who just mocked the thing they said they wanted?
And it's an airline that's always having accidents, prices itself at some awkward middle ground — not cheap, not premium — with mediocre service
And of course, only a handful of airports, zero flexibility
>Kind of like telling someone who wants to travel by bullet train, "Actually, flying is faster"
And on top of that, the original poster is apparently a Pokémon fan. So it's basically badmouthing the bullet train to a train otaku — "it's slow, it's expensive" — while pushing a plane on them instead
Background and Key Points of the Debate
“PS-pushers” (“shōchan”/”shōheki” in the original Japanese) is slang used on 5ch’s Hardware/Industry (Geha) board for a subset of users who aggressively champion the PlayStation camp — the term carries no medical meaning, despite echoing a word that can suggest “disability” in Japanese. This board has hosted an endless, long-running “console war,” and recommending your preferred hardware while ignoring the other person’s actual circumstances is itself a frequent target of ridicule there. This particular thread kicked off when a regular user on X posted that they wanted a Switch 2 to play Monster Hunter Wilds and Resident Evil, and the discussion centered on “why keep pushing a PS5,” with posters speculating about reasons the original poster never stated — portability, Nintendo exclusives, whether they even own a TV, who they play with, and so on. Opinion split over whether to read the PS5-recommenders’ motives as “good intentions” or “condescension,” with some arguing “the real issue is how much they’re looking down on him” and others defending them as “they just don’t realize how big the performance gap is.” One thing readers shouldn’t misread: “PS-pushers” is a nickname for a small, vocal minority on social media — it doesn’t describe PS5 owners as a whole or gamers in general.
