Becky Names the Celebrity She’s “Conscious Of” — A Former Rival
TV personality Becky appears on MBS TV’s Tsukai! Akashiya Denshidai (airing Saturdays at 3:00 PM, Kansai local broadcast) on the 29th, chatting with host Sanma Akashiya.
In the show’s signature segment “Nani wo Kiku Nen,” where 50 members of the studio audience get to question the guest, each audience member writes down the name of a celebrity they think they resemble on a spinning “name board.” Sanma picks out a celebrity name that catches his interest, the audience member who wrote it shares their own story, and then poses a question directly to the guest.

He played for the Seibu Lions and the Giants
Kataoka Yasu
He was a good-looking player I liked, so it was a shock he got snagged by someone like Becky
Becky's being calculating dropping that name — typical calculating Becky.
so going up against her on that front is a losing battle.
It's Wentz. (i.e., entertainer Eiji Wentz)
Becky's pretty good at it too, though

Yaguchi wins since she didn't end up sticking it out with that Gesu whatshisname guy lol (ref. Gesu no Kiwami Otome affair scandal)
That story on Ariyoshi Quiz where Yaguchi ran into Becky in private and the two of them bonded over it was hilarious
Mariko Shinoda playing villain roles in dramas is terrifyingly perfect casting
In "Ochitara Owari" (If You Fall, It's Over) there's a scene next week where she tries to jump off an apartment building
Mariko Shinoda is basically a late-night drama regular at this point
Feels like every season, on any network, she's always in some late-night drama involving cheating — either as the cheater or the cheated-on
She's a likability monster
It's impressive she climbed all the way up to become the queen of commercials
Masayuki Shunou's judgment was spot on
Nah, she's on TV and radio plenty
After he finished telling his story, Wakatsuki asked him "When was that?" and he answered "Eight years ago," which got a huge laugh.
It's a story about how sharp Wakatsuki is.
The impressive part is she didn't ask "how many years ago," she just asked "when" — and let his answer land the joke itself
Chinatsu Wakatsuki's really got that comedic timing down
Was that the talent directory thing?
Or maybe it's the one where Jun named Chinatsu Wakatsuki as the ex-girlfriend among the talents he'd dated that he regrets breaking up with
I feel like it wasn't the affair itself but the leaked LINE messages — which came off mocking and nasty — that were the final blow
Though I always felt there was a gap between how the industry saw her likability and how the public did
Becky's never done swimsuit gravure, so they don't really feel like rivals
Wakatsuki's more in the same lane as Yoko Kumada, Yuko Ogura, that group
And Becky never once appeared in London Boots' "Women Ranking Each Other" segment either —
she just watched from a safe distance
She had her own regular show the whole time, sitting comfortably in a stable position
Don't act like you saw her as a rival now, that sounds fake too
and hold debrief sessions like "you should've answered that way instead," studying how to play it next time — that's why they're strong
They're not like the Sakamichi/AKB48-type groups where the group is strong but individuals are weak on their own
Becky wasn't actually at those debrief sessions though
