Liella! Fans Spot ‘Finale’ Clues in New Jacket Art — 5ch: ‘Feels Like a Culmination’

The story

A thread on 5ch’s Love Live! board speculated that Liella!’s new jacket artwork for their 8th live might really signal the end. Posters pointed out that the artwork’s all-members-together composition lines up neatly with Season 3’s subtitle, “Everyone Gather,” and that the album title “Our Songs, Our Dreams” also has people thinking it marks some kind of milestone. Others pushed back, arguing that if it really were a finale, the official announcement would surely say so outright to boost ticket sales, and the discussion spiraled into comparisons with other groups like Nijigasaki. In the end, the thread split between those convinced it’s a “complete ending” and those who see it as merely “a milestone.”

What people said

That jacket art alone already says it all, huh…
2AnonymousOct 6, 2026 12:57
Liella!… are you seriously about to end?
3AnonymousOct 6, 2026 12:58
If it really were the finale, they'd definitely say so in the announcement
There'd be people who'd specifically come because it's the finale, so just announcing it would boost attendance
4AnonymousOct 6, 2026 12:59
It really does look like it's ending

5AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:00
This crosswalk is creepy no matter how many times I look at it
Only a hardcore yuri otaku (a fan obsessed with girl-on-girl romance subtext) wouldn't find anything off about this
6AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:05
I think the creepy part is that this section is just the unedited source photo left as-is, so you can actually see real people's heads in it

Looking back, the sloppy work started way back then
8AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:10
That's just wishful thinking from a Nijigasaki fanboy (lol)
Liella! will probably keep going for a few more years
Nijigasaki fans have been saying Liella! is ending any day now, forever
Meanwhile it's Nijigasaki that actually looks like it's about to end (lol)
9AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:11
Won't it be like the 2nd live's added Osaka date—there'll be an extra show added on, and THAT'S the finale? Looking at this jacket art, there's no way you can convince yourself this isn't the end
10AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:15
I mean, the title is "Our Songs, Our Dreams"
It's probably not the literal final, but I do think this live and album are meant to be a culmination—a milestone moment
13AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:17
Re: #10
It's got an all-members track plus three grade/year-group tracks, so if the preview video drops something tear-jerking, that'll pretty much confirm it
18AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:23
Nijigasaki is probably going to announce the movie's release date and a final live on their next livestream, wrapping things up at the 10th anniversary—so don't worry, Liella! isn't ending yet
19AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:25
Re: #18
There's zero causal connection here, lol 🤭
20AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:25
The next 'big' Nijigasaki announcement is just Nijiyon 3 (the comedy spin-off series)…
22AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:27
They'll probably wrap it up within a year or two, but ending it around the same time as Nijigasaki would cement the image of the whole Love Live! franchise being over
If Nijigasaki ends next year, I'd guess they'll hold off on ending Superstar (Liella!) until the year after
25AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:27
Re: #22
Because they've gotta run the 'farewell tour' sales strategy (hyping a 'final' event to drive tickets and merch)
27AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:33
Ticket prices are high so it's turning a solid profit—there's no reason to end it
31AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:38
Re: #27
If the 'Ikizura Live' (a mocking fan nickname for another group's concert) — which sold upgrade packages and even obstructed-view seats — still only broke even on the live itself, there's no way Liella!, which has empty seats, is doing better than break-even
35AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:42
Re: #31
Oh, the one where they put obstructed-view seats on sale without even selling out the regular seats first (lol)
Lives make their real money from merch, not tickets, you know
38AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:43
Re: #31
Setting aside whether the numbers are even true, it's kind of sad that the claim 'Ikizura-chan was nearly full and still only broke even' ends up as collateral damage for poor Liella!-chan…
28AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:35
At the next Love Live Fest they'll probably announce a new group, hold auditions next year, and kick off activities the year after—so Superstar (Liella!) still has another 3-4 years left in it (lol)
30AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:37
Re: #28
What are they even going to do for 3-4 more years?

Sports day, then a school festival next?

What about the anime? The movie?

Are they gonna leave the characters behind again? 🤭
41AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:45
Re: #28
They're not gonna hold an open public audition
48AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:51
Re: #28
That's just a fantasy
A whole new Love Live series, with things looking like this?
Who's even going to fund that?
32AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:40
Re: #30
It'll just end up like Aqours
Too bad it's not ending (lol)
34AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:42
Re: #32
Then the same goes for Nijigasaki too, huh 🤭

If you're saying only Nijigasaki ends and nothing else does, gimme some grounds for that besides wishful thinking 🤣
52AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:56
To begin with, Bandai Namco isn't going to keep investing in Love Live! the way it has been
Even if Nijigasaki and Superstar (Liella!) get wound down, keeping Hasunosora and Tori (another, lesser-known spin-off group) running will be about all they can manage

https://www.noncsp.com/

Bandai Namco has Sunrise and Lantis—basically Love Live!'s own production staff—working on a new girls'-band anime project
53AnonymousOct 6, 2026 13:58
Re: #52
Honestly, it's too late already
The girls'-band anime boom is already fading
What a tone-deaf move to launch a project like this now
62AnonymousOct 6, 2026 15:00
Love Live! cares about sequencing, so Superstar (Liella!) won't end until after Nijigasaki does
63AnonymousOct 6, 2026 15:16
Re: #62
People keep waving this around like it's some golden rule, but a cast member said Hasunosora's 104th class might not have even debuted—might have been scrapped entirely—depending on how the 103rd class's launch and reception went. So I think when it's time to end, it ends regardless of 'order'
83AnonymousOct 6, 2026 16:44
To begin with, Superstar's core staff aren't even around anymore—they've left Sunrise or moved over to the Hasunosora project
91AnonymousOct 6, 2026 16:58
Re: #83
Oh, they're gone? Guess it's hopeless then

Background and Key Points of This Debate

Liella! is the unit made up of the members from the anime Love Live! Superstar!!, and the 8th live is believed to be built around an all-members-together concept echoing Season 3’s subtitle, “Everyone Gather.” What split the thread was whether a single piece of jacket artwork is solid grounds for concluding the show is ending, or whether it’s simply staging for a milestone moment. There’s been no official confirmation of a finale, and some pointed out that announcements like that are normally made in advance specifically to boost ticket sales. The latter half of the thread also saw plenty of fan-vs-fan sniping over when Nijigasaki and other groups might end, but it’s worth noting this wasn’t based on any official announcement—just individual guesses about each group’s profitability and management plans.

※This article is excerpted and summarized from the 5ch (Love Live!) thread “Hey, isn’t this really the finale for Liella!’s 8th live….”
