The music video for Hello! Project group Rosy Chronicle’s new song has hit #1 on YouTube’s “Hype” ranking. Thread posters shared a breakdown showing that Hype points are weighted by subscriber count: channels with under 500 subscribers earn 7,500 points per Hype, channels with over 100,000 subscribers earn only about 200, and channels with 500,000+ subscribers aren’t even eligible. While many congratulated the group, some noted coolly that Rosy Chronicle’s subscriber count is only in the 30,000s — “they’re just at an advantage because they have so few subscribers.” The thread also brought up the struggles of fellow Hello! Project groups BEYOOOOONDS and Morning Musume, so the discussion didn’t stay purely celebratory.

Well yeah, it's a feature built for YouTubers with small subscriber counts.

Wrong reply target… (anchor mistake)

Who's that cute girl?
Where's the "batter's box"?
8AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:45
Is this the first time an MV of theirs hit #1 Hype? I remember "Misery" got close but didn't quite make it.
9AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:46
What even is the Hype ranking?
12AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:47
Re: #9
Are people still out there like this?
11AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:47
This calls for celebration! Break out the red rice!! (a festive dish served for happy occasions)
14AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:49
This really shows how relative a "#1" ranking actually is.
19AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:50
Let's see how much both the Hype count and the view count climb over the week.
23AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:50
It's a ranking that's sadly not well known at all.
If there's something people want to see, they'll just go look it up themselves.
24AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:52
So it's Rosy, not BEYOOOOONDS, that ends up going viral, huh.
25AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:52
#1, but the actual Hype count is pretty small.
Just lucky, I guess.
Going by view count alone, it's already past "Nantoka Naru Desho" (likely a song title).

Still, this one feels like it's got way more potential than "Hai to Diamond" ("Ash to Diamond").

Re: #32
A #1 Hype ranking is something someone who can't even quote-reply properly will never get.
34AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:59
Wait, Rosy only has 30k subscribers?
35AnonymousSep 16, 2026 15:59
BEYOOOOONDS fizzled out and turn-ended, so they're the most pitiful group in Hello! Project right now.
36AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:00
Yeah seriously, what even was that brief "Hai Dai" moment?
37AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:00
Rosy needs to drop a million-view song pretty soon too.
Morning Musume growing their Hype score is basically an impossible task lol
51AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:09
Re: #44
Over 500k subscribers means you're not even eligible for Hype.
45AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:05
"Oinaisa" — 160K views, 2 months ago
"Najirareta tte" — 180K views, 3 days (likely song titles, compared for view growth speed)
46AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:05
To celebrate, I realize I've never actually watched the Rosy MV — guess I'll go watch it at least once.
47AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:06
Even between 100k and 500k subscribers, it changes in finer increments.
48AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:07
The counting method changed, so it needs to hit around 250k views in a week.
52AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:11
Honestly, Morning Musume's early view numbers are weak for their subscriber count, so they're kind of screwed algorithmically in a lot of ways.
53AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:13
Juice=Juice's rate right now is 70P per Hype.
Might have dropped even lower by now.
55AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:14
Isn't Morning Musume's subscriber base full of ghost accounts?
57AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:17
Morning Musume should just remake their account.
59AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:26
Sure, having fewer subscribers gets you the bonus, but at the end of the day people won't hit the button unless the song's actually good.
60AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:27
Congrats, congrats. BEYOOOOONDS fans, hype your group up more too. If you just keep taking without giving back, eventually you won't get anything either.
62AnonymousSep 16, 2026 16:30
If popularity could really be boosted just by racking up Hypes…
I saw some group called Maneki Kecak rank too, and they're not exactly popular.
Rosy currently has 10,000 total Hypes and 8,250 likes.
BEYOOOOONDS has 70,000 total Hypes and 24,000 likes.
Rosy's still got plenty of Hype headroom left.
Background and Key Points of This Discussion
YouTube’s Hype ranking measures how quickly a video’s engagement is growing, and the points it awards vary sharply depending on a channel’s subscriber count. Based on figures shared in the thread, a channel with fewer than 500 subscribers earns 7,500 points per Hype, while a channel with over 100,000 subscribers earns only about 200 — and channels with 500,000 or more subscribers aren’t eligible for Hype points at all. In other words, hitting #1 reflects less the sheer volume of views and more a structural quirk of the system that favors smaller channels. Alongside the congratulations in the thread, commenters also pointed out that this is “only natural given how few subscribers they have” — a distinction from a straightforward popularity vote or chart-topping hit that’s easy to overlook. The discussion also laid bare the gaps in subscriber counts and view counts between different Hello! Project groups, leaving reactions to the #1 ranking mixed.
