Daisuke Hori Hits Exhaustion Limit on His ’30-Minute Nap’ Livestream — 5ch: “Dude’s About to Pass Out”

The story

On 5ch’s “Nandemo Jikkyo G” board (a general live-commentary forum), Daisuke Hori’s ongoing endurance livestream — run under a “naps allowed, 30 minutes” rule — has become a hot topic. As he keeps the stream running while inserting 40-minute blacked-out, muted segments each time, viewers have voiced concern over his exhaustion and raised questions about what actually counts as a “nap.” Thread posters also wondered whether his paying students even exist, noted that standing the whole time seems to have hurt his back, and pointed out that he barely seems to be doing any strength training — with opinions split over what’s really going on in the stream.

What people said

Looks sleepy
2AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:07
His right eye looks rough.
He seems like the proud type who's putting on a brave face about getting mocked nonstop, but it looks like it's really getting to him mentally.
3AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:08
Wait, has he actually slept at all since switching to the naps-allowed rule?
25AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:18
Re: #3
He did a 40-minute blackout/mute session once.
5AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:10
I could understand doing 30-minute sleep if he were busy with work, but he doesn't seem to have anything to do right now, so he should just sleep.
6AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:11
Has he finally lost the ability to read comments himself, so now staff read them for him and all he can say is "yeah, yeah"?
9AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:13
Even if he actually makes it to the end, what would that even prove?
10AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:13
Forget reading Super Chats, just go live a normal life.
12AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:13
Didn't he say the whole point of allowing naps was to show himself getting more and more energetic over time?
17AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:16
Re: #12
Doesn't that basically amount to admitting the 30-minute thing was impossible? Is that okay for his personal brand?
24AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:18
Re: #12
And also, nobody even asked for that.
36AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:26
Once this stream ends, he's probably going to sleep for a straight 24 hours.
And even after waking up, his body probably won't be back to normal.
38AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:27
Re: #36
Then at the next day's stream, he'll probably suddenly show up looking totally refreshed.
37AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:27
What is he even going to teach his students in this state, lol
40AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:28
Re: #37
30-minute sleep. Microsleep. "Nature sleep." Power nap.
42AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:28
Re: #37
He's "preparing" (typing away at the keyboard).
57AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:33
Re: #37
With how much buzz this is getting I figured he'd have like 1,000 students, but apparently it's under 50. He probably figures once he's made a decent chunk of money, it's fine if he just disappears.
43AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:28
What kind of expression is that supposed to be?
46AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:30
Re: #43
According to him, he's been standing the whole time, so his back apparently hurts.
48AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:30
Re: #46
Why doesn't he just sit down? Naps are allowed now, so he might as well lie down too.
49AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:31
Re: #46
Sitting isn't even banned, so why is he standing the whole time?
58AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:33
His eyelids look like they're about to shut on their own.
He's about to pass out at this rate.
62AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:34
Re: #58
That's not technically sleep, so it's fine.
67AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:36
Not that it matters, but there's already a thread up on Geinosports (the entertainment/sports board) about this — if he teamed up with a reporter he could probably make a killing.
71AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:37
Re: #67
Even if it's all a bit, whoever's sending Super Chats to this stream has to be out of their mind.
68AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:36
"People saying 'if you're napping it has to be exactly 30 minutes of sleep' are idiots — don't you guys sleep outside your regular sleep hours sometimes too? You wouldn't count that as 'sleep time,' right?"
Honestly, that's a fair point.
76AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:39
Re: #68
The times you sleep outside your normal sleep hours are usually when you're sleep-deprived, though.
90AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:42
Re: #68
8 hours plus 25 minutes is basically a rounding error, but 30 minutes plus 25 minutes is almost double.
69AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:37
Ever since Hosoi showed up, haven't the staff started taking little digs at Hori — basically turning into haters?
88AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:42
Re: #69
A Super Chat reading something like "Super Enraged Sleeping Saiyan Daisuke Hori" (a Dragon Ball parody) is way too provocative, lol
70AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:37
This isn't the livestream people were expecting, is it?
What people wanted to see was him cramming in tons of lectures, going out, showing up at events — an insane amount of activity on top of just 30-minute sleep. A whole day full of massage-spa excuses to sleep doesn't mean anything.
78AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:39
Re: #70
Nobody was expecting that. No one actually believes he's really sleeping just 30 minutes.
81AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:40
Actually, isn't his strength-training time really short though?
84AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:41
Re: #81
All we ever see is him sitting near the machines.
87AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:41
Re: #78
Maybe the people who bought his course materials actually believed it 🤔
92AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:42
Re: #87
Buying an info-product course from a guy who takes six baths is the dumb part.
98AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:44
Watching this trainwreck makes me wonder if all those "black company" stories about pulling two or three all-nighters in a row are fiction and people are actually sleeping.
102AnonymousSep 14, 2026 23:45
Re: #98
I've pulled three all-nighters in a row before, and three is the absolute limit. Your vision actually starts to go.

Background and Key Points of This Story

What Daisuke Hori appears to be running is an endurance livestream designed to promote a paid course for his students — this kind of “naps-allowed endurance stream” is one of several monetization formats that have become more common among livestreamers in recent years. The thread split mainly over how to define a “nap”: whether the 40-minute blacked-out, muted segments count as “sleep.” Supporters argued it still amounts to meaningful rest, while skeptics saw it as effectively breaking the 30-minute rule. As for the number of students, the figure Hori himself has announced has taken on a life of its own online, and thread guesses like “58 people” or “around 40 people” remain pure speculation. Much of what’s shown about the streamer’s physical condition and expressions is based on his own self-reporting, so viewer reactions shouldn’t be taken at face value as fact.
