The story
On September 12, 2026, gaming YouTuber Pokaos called out Keiji Channel by name on X (formerly Twitter), criticizing him for “taking sponsored deals from Sony and gushing over PlayStation first-party titles as ‘masterpieces,’ only to turn around and start bashing them once the Kojima controversy hit and Sony’s fortunes soured” and for “inadequate PR/ad disclosure that amounts to stealth marketing.” The remarks became a hot topic on 5ch’s hardware/industry (“Geha”) board. Beyond debating whether the criticism itself was fair, posters were split on whether it’s legitimate for the anonymous Pokaos to attack the face-revealing Keiji, and on the broader issue of gaming YouTubers running “position-talk” (biased takes dressed up as neutral commentary) as a business model.

Keep going.
did something happen?
That's just a matter of how much privacy you're willing to expose to farm views, lol. It's not about who's more admirable.
What does showing your face have to do with anything…
"Keiji Channel is seriously trash. He took sponsored deals from Sony and went overboard calling PS first-party titles and third-party exclusives 'masterpieces' over and over — but the second the Kojima controversy hit or Sony started struggling, he jumped right in to bash them. And his PR/ad disclosures are so inadequate it's basically stealth marketing. This guy doesn't love PlayStation — he just loves the money and sponsorships PlayStation gives him."
"With Keiji Channel, whenever he criticizes (gives an opinion on) a game, he immediately praises like twice as many other things about it and goes full defense mode, lol. If that's how it's gonna go, I always think, just don't say the criticism in the first place.
Keiji Channel… lol"
Nobody's going to give sponsorship deals to someone who says stuff like this. Companies care about their image, so from a sponsor's perspective, the well-behaved Keiji is the right answer.
Coming from the guy who suddenly started using Nintendo as his punching bag the moment Xbox became unusable, that's rich.
That guy seems to be properly playing the role of a fanatic, but it looks boring so I've never actually watched him.
No, Pokaos is a hardcore PlayStation hater.
There's no way a guy like that would buy a PS5 Pro.
This whole scene's become nothing but echo chambers farming views at this point. It's played out.
Honestly, that's basically the default premise for streamers like this. Even the ones running echo chambers as '[brand] fanboys' know they've got a guaranteed audience and sponsorship deals, and they operate on that premise.
He should change his voice too. That old-school voice changer sound is rough.
And yet he went and bought a PS5, so now he's all over the place.
I honestly don't get why he does this bit, lol. This part is definitely unnecessary.
Kent starts his videos with that same kind of line too.
Desperately trying to pin it on someone else, huh.
The problem is his character/persona becomes inconsistent. If that happens, neither the haters nor the fanboys will keep watching. You've gotta commit to the role properly.
That's why this guy started out as an Xbox fanboy running an echo chamber in the first place.
Huh? There are still anti-Sony people in the comments right now, aren't there? The anti-Sony crowd is watching him. What are you even saying?
Is there even still an Xbox echo chamber out there anymore?
Background and Key Points of This Debate
As background, suspicion has often been raised within the gaming YouTuber scene about corporate sponsorship deals, inadequate PR/ad disclosure, and “position-talk” — creators who pose as neutral while effectively championing one particular platform. It’s in that context that Pokaos called out Keiji Channel by name, accusing him of stealth marketing and flip-flopping. What split the thread wasn’t so much the substance of the criticism itself, but whether someone who criticizes anonymously without showing their face has any credibility — pushback against using anonymity as a shield clashed with the counterargument that the content of the criticism should be judged on its own merits. Some posts claim both have clashed with other streamers before, but that’s just hearsay from 5ch, so its accuracy can’t be confirmed.
