The story

Nozomu Iwao of the comedy duo Football Hour revealed his frustration with customers who park for long stretches in convenience store lots while staring at their phones, during the October 17 episode of the YouTube show “Zakkuri YouTube.” His comment that he feels like marching over and shouting “Move it, dammit!” at customers who won’t budge even when the lot is packed was reported by sirabee.com and sparked a reaction on 5ch. The thread split between critics insisting “only the store owner has the right to say that” and others sympathizing from their own frustrating parking-lot experiences, with plenty of posts speculating about why customers linger in their cars for so long.

Nozomu Iwao of the comedy duo Football Hour appeared on the YouTube channel “Zakkuri YouTube” on the 17th.

He let loose his frustration about “a certain car” he keeps running into in convenience store parking lots.

Iwao often stops at convenience stores while driving. Depending on the time of day, the lot gets so crowded that finding even a single open space isn’t rare, and that’s when his frustration kicks in toward the customers who just sit in their cars.

That's a line only the convenience store owner gets to say.

Honestly, I'm not even sure what he's talking about (riffing on the famous comedy catchphrase "chotto nani itteru ka wakannai").

Watching Iwao beats watching Peace-kun from Omiya Park on YouTube any day (Peace-kun is the cantankerous peacock at Omiya Park Zoo who went viral for hissing at visitors).

Sometimes you just need a little break, you know……
There are times you're not tired enough to nap but you're in that headspace where you'll crash if you don't rest a bit.

Though funnily enough, the people calling it "inconsiderate" sure use some pretty aggressive language themselves.

They might be checking their next destination, and there are cases like Re: #10 too, so you really can't tell unless you wait and watch for at least 10 minutes.
11AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:45
The type who opens the fridge door and only then starts thinking about what to buy.
14AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:45
If you're in the suburbs where there's actual parking, you're better off going to a supermarket than a convenience store anyway.
24AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:49
"Should I go over and tell them to move, dammit!?"

Go ahead, please, by all means.
28AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:50
Yeah, there were Wi-Fi moochers too.
Such a pain.
29AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:50
Non-chan's actually pretty hot-headed, huh (Non-chan is Iwao's nickname).
30AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:50
Check for the silver sticker first
THEN it's "Move it, dammit!!" (the "silver mark" is the sticker elderly drivers display on their cars in Japan).
31AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:51
I don't think it's wrong to say it.

Personally, when I'm near the doors on a packed train and someone won't move even after the doors open because they're glued to their phone, I just tell them "Move."

Re: #31
You're being generous just by not elbowing them in the temple.
39AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:54
So relatable lol
You do think "move already, idiot," don't you.
But I barely go to convenience stores anymore so it doesn't bother me now.
I just rest in a big supermarket parking lot instead.
41AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:55
What is this guy even talking about? I don't get what's supposed to be wrong here. I'm changing the channel the second he comes on now.
43AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:56
His partner's doing fine with regular shows and commercials, but Non-chan's too short-tempered — he doesn't even get booked for late-night shows anymore.
46AnonymousOct 19, 2026 15:57
You're the one who chose to go to a crowded place at a crowded time — that's on you, so none of this makes sense.
61AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:05
I won't forget how he went along with whatever Sakagami said on Viking (the variety show hosted by Shin Sakagami).
He's the type who falls in line with whoever's more powerful.
74AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:11
Re: #61
No, if anything his attitude toward Shin Sakagami was the exception.
Normally Non-chan snaps easily and gets ignored by his juniors constantly.
63AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:06
I've always wondered about this too — what are they even doing in there?
Just go home already.
65AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:07
Re: #63
If the convenience store parking is free, maybe they're sleeping in their car overnight?
68AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:07
Re: #63
Probably killing time between sales appointments or something.
Not sure though.
71AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:09
Re: #68
There are a lot of them even around 8 PM too.
Maybe they're waiting for their scary wife to fall asleep?
113AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:27
Re: #71
That late, huh.
Maybe timing it to pick a kid up from cram school?
81AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:14
The lot's full and people can't find a spot…
Not noticing that is bad enough.
Noticing and still not moving is even worse.
83AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:14
Re: #81
There are actually quite a few people who deliberately don't move just to feel superior.
114AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:28
I feel this so hard. At least park at the edge, idiot, is what I think.
116AnonymousOct 19, 2026 16:29
Re: #114
If the edge spots were already taken first, cut them some slack.

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

It’s worth keeping in mind, as the article itself notes, that Iwao’s comment was made during a talk segment on a YouTube show, not an actual confrontation with a customer. Convenience store parking lots are managed property, and some stores post signs restricting long-term parking or idling, but such friction tends to get treated as a dispute between customers, with handling varying store by store. The thread split between a principle-based view — “only the store has the right to say that” — and agreement rooted in real experience, like “I’ve actually been stuck because the lot was full.” Posts speculating about reasons for lingering in the car for a long time — taking a break, timing a pickup or drop-off, sleeping overnight — were also prominent, and alongside debate over the remark itself, there was a mix of posts weighing in on Iwao’s personal character and his past behavior on other shows.
