Instead of doing that, there's exactly one reason people crave a prize like this: they want to decorate their own life's résumé with it.
Honestly, you can see right through people like that — it's nauseating.
To begin with, trying to intervene in and punish even countries that haven't ratified the Rome Statute is itself a violation of international law and a disregard for the rule of law.
What the ICC is doing is an abuse of the law, not the rule of law.
