Cat Enjoying Sparkling Water Photo Sparks ‘Feels So Good’ Buzz in 5ch Chat Thread

Background and Key Points

Cat drinking sparkling water photos flooding a 5ch “Nandemo Jikkyo G” (実況G, “Everything Live” board) thread taps into a running gag on Japanese image boards: pouring or spraying carbonated water on a cat and filming its startled reaction, since the fizzing sensation on wet fur makes cats flinch, shake, or bolt in a way viewers find both funny and oddly endearing. The recurring phrase “sono ba de shinu” energy aside, the specific slang thrown around here — シュワシュワ (“shuwa-shuwa,” the fizzing sound) and 名も無き修羅 style reaction shots — belongs to a broader tradition on “nora” (実況・vtuber crossover slang, roughly “loitering/idling”) threads where regulars post looping images and react in short bursts rather than debate anything substantive. Suma Aqualife Park (須磨海浜水族園), referenced via the aquarium photo, is a public aquarium in Kobe’s Suma ward, long known — and mocked online — for a beloved but now-retired giant turtle exhibit, which explains why one poster begged “anything but the turtle.”

The thread doesn’t actually split on any real disagreement — it’s not a debate thread, just an image-macro chain. If there’s tension at all, it’s aesthetic: some posters find the AI-generated Funassyi image charmless (“what’s the point of posting something so boring”), while others keep escalating with sparkling-water cat pics and Nekomata Okayu (a Hololive VTuber) references, treating the whole thing as a running bit rather than content worth critiquing.

What outside readers likely miss is that giving a cat sparkling water isn’t a real recommended practice — it’s an internet joke/prank format, not veterinary advice, and the “feels so good” reactions are about the comedic visual of the cat’s surprise, not an endorsement of actually doing this to a pet.
