  • Ex-BEYOOOOONDS Member Reina Ichioka’s Sudden Spree of Paid Fan Events Sparks ‘Cash Flow Problems?’ Rumors

On October 10, former BEYOOOOONDS member Reina Ichioka announced a “Secret Fan Meet Part 1.5” event to be held on October 18. With a tight application deadline of 6 p.m. on October 14, 5ch users uncovered a schedule showing paid fan meets and dinner shows running three to four times a month from October 4 through November 28, each priced between 15,000 and 20,000 yen. The abrupt announcement fueled speculation about cash-flow trouble — including rumors of debts to a host club — with some commenters drawing parallels to former idols whose careers had declined, while opinions split over whether this is simply a viable business model.

If she doesn't build the habit of working a normal job now, she'll end up like Masae Otani or Anri Sakaguchi down the road (former celebrities often cited in Japan as cautionary tales of post-fame decline) — though it's probably already too late.
Right now she still has a handful of fans willing to pay up, but eventually even they'll be gone.

She's doing this incredibly often, what is this
Do the fans actually try to collect them all?
Combined with the fan meets, that's a pretty hefty monthly total

Background and Key Points of This Topic

Reina Ichioka is a former idol who left Hello! Project’s BEYOOOOONDS, and since departing she appears to be earning income through individual paid fan meets and cheki (instant-photo) sessions. According to the schedule laid out in the thread, events priced at 15,000–20,000 yen are running three to four times a month from October through November, and it’s this frequency — combined with the undisclosed, “secret” format — that has fueled speculation about cash-flow troubles. That said, theories about debts to a host club remain speculation on 5ch, with no confirmation from Ichioka herself or her agency. Running paid fan meets is itself a fairly common way for idols to earn income after leaving or graduating from a group, so it’s worth noting that frequency and pricing alone don’t prove anything about the underlying business situation.

  • Tsubaki Factory Graduation Event Sparks Mixed Reactions Over ‘I Don’t Get the Nerve of People Who Show Up Even Though She’s Not Their Oshi’

Talk about Hello! Project idol group Tsubaki Factory heated up on 5ch’s Hello! Project board. It started with a post asking, “What’s with people who show up to a member’s final event even though she isn’t their oshi?” which sparked debate over whether it’s okay for fans who don’t specifically support a given member to attend that member’s individual event. The thread brought up concerns about filling the Budokan venue and cited precedents from past graduation events, with some defending the practice — “Isn’t it fine if they help fill the seats?” — while others pushed back, calling it “self-righteous and arrogant to blame others.”

    Re: #87
Wasn't the Budokan booked precisely because they factored in that kind of demand?

Background and Key Points of This Topic

It’s worth noting that this post wasn’t a statement from Akiyama Mao herself, but an opinion raised by an anonymous 5ch user identifying as an “Akiyama fan.” In idol fan culture, there’s a group known as “tanto” who strongly support one specific member, and another known as “DD” who broadly support the whole group — and the two camps often clash over securing seats at individual events. What split opinion in the thread came down to one point: which matters more, the practical view that it’s better to fill seats than leave them empty, or the emotional discomfort some feel about non-fans showing up just because “it’s the last one.” Since filling a Budokan-sized venue is a higher bar, there’s strong support for welcoming attendees whose main purpose is filling seats. Some posts in the thread mention trouble at a different member’s past graduation event, but no details were given, so this can’t be confirmed as fact.

  • EBiDAN Set to Make First-Ever ‘Mステ’ Appearance — 5ch: ‘EBiDAN Without M!LK Is Like Sukiyaki Without the Meat’

It’s been announced that AI, Aimyon, EBiDAN, Sakurazaka46, sumika, Naniwa Danshi, and RADWIMPS will appear on TV Asahi’s “Music Station” airing October 16. It will be EBiDAN’s first appearance on the show, where they’ll perform “Yes! Tokyo,” whose music video has surpassed 100 million views. On the 5ch Entertainment & Sports News+ board, posters repeatedly pointed out that M!LK’s members — despite the song being their signature hit — won’t be appearing, alongside discussion of Aimyon’s shifting popularity and a generational shift among the male idol acts on the bill.

EBiDAN finally set to appear on the next “Music Station” — AI, Aimyon, Sakurazaka46, sumika, Naniwa Danshi, and RADWIMPS also on the bill

Among them, EBiDAN will be making its first appearance on the show, performing “Yes! Tokyo,” a song that also made news recently when its music video topped 100 million views.

That doesn't seem like all that glamorous a lineup

Background and Key Points of This Discussion

EBiDAN is a joint unit bringing together male members from several different groups, and its lineup shifts from song to song — so whether M!LK, the group most closely tied to “Yes! Tokyo,” would actually show up this time was something posters had been watching for even before the thread got going. The fact that the same complaint keeps resurfacing suggests it’s a familiar sore spot among fans. Some posts also looked back on how “Music Station” was long centered on the former Johnny’s talent agency, but since the lineup varies broadcast to broadcast, it would be premature to read a single episode’s cast as proof of an industry-wide shift. It’s also worth noting that the “fan count ranking” image mentioned in the thread has no clear source, so the accuracy of its numbers can’t be confirmed.

*This article is compiled and summarized from the 5ch (Entertainment & Sports News+) thread “[Entertainment] EBiDAN Finally Set to Appear on the Next “Music Station”! AI, Aimyon, Sakurazaka46, sumika, Naniwa Danshi, and RADWIMPS Also on the Bill.”

  • Juice=Juice Heads to Korea for a K-pop-Style Choreography Camp for Their New Song — 5ch: “Nobody in the Juice Family Asked for This”

Hello! Project group Juice=Juice traveled to Korea for a dance training camp to learn choreography for their new single, and footage of the trip streaming on Hulu sparked discussion on 5ch’s Hello! Project board. The thread ranged from technical doubts — can they even pull off intense K-pop-style footwork in thick-soled heels? — to bigger-picture points about how Hello! Project’s sing-while-dancing style runs on different assumptions than K-pop’s lip-syncing culture. Opinions split between posters welcoming it as valuable training abroad and those questioning why a one-off tie-in song needed K-pop choreography in the first place.

Can you even dance K-pop-style choreography in thick-soled high heels?
    2AnonymousOct 9, 2026 19:28
K-pop idols are all stick-thin — they don't have the core strength to dance in heels.

True, and what Hello! Project does is really just an applied, performance-level layer on top of that. Members like Kawashima and Endo already built up solid fundamentals before joining, so they can keep drilling basics on their own and keep adding to that foundation. Even within Hello! The dance-focused unit isn't that popular, so I guess dancing just isn't prioritized much anyway. Honestly even Angerme looks like they're just flailing around to me.

lol there's no intention to shove them into a K-pop box. They're trying to make Juice the real, undisputed "strongest performers in idol-dom." Singing's already solid at this point, so dancing's the obvious next step. Other Japanese idols don't put that much effort into dance, so it's natural to end up at "okay, Korea then."

The nerve to go on a full tour with that little practice is honestly impressive lol. Normally you'd be too embarrassed to even get on stage.

Background and Key Points of the Debate

Hello! Project has long marketed “singing live while dancing” as the group’s core strength — a point of contrast with K-pop idols, who often lip-sync through especially complex choreography. The thread split over whether to view the Korean choreography camp as valuable technical training or dismiss it as just a gimmick tied to a one-off collaboration song. Commenters debated whether the footwork is even feasible in thick-soled heels, and some pointed out that earlier K-pop groups like Girls’ Generation adjusted their choreography with singing in mind — a reminder that K-pop dance isn’t uniformly high-difficulty-and-lip-synced, a nuance that’s easy to miss. The names of former Hello! Project members who left the group, such as Sayashi Riho and Kasahara Momona, also came up, with some praising the fact that Juice=Juice members can learn these skills while staying in the group, while others remained skeptical of the shift in direction itself.

  • 5ch Debates What It’ll Take for ANGERME to Make a Comeback — “There Was Never Even a Good Era to Go Back To”

Amid ANGERME’s slumping popularity, a thread titled “A thread to seriously consider how ANGERME can make a comeback” appeared on 5ch’s Hello! Project board. Posters pointed to structural problems one after another: uneven vocal ability among members, a seniority-based setlist order, and a lack of direction caused by having no clear leader. Proposals ranged from centering the group around Goto and Hirayama, to pairing up with Juice=Juice to pull in new fans, all the way to extreme ideas like disbanding or replacing the entire lineup. Some posters went further, arguing there was never actually a “good era” to return to in the first place. Others raised concerns about infighting among fan factions, and the discussion never converged on a single answer.

Sada Masashi lol (a folk singer-songwriter famous for long, meandering story-songs — the joke being Ise talks the same way)

Background and Key Points of This Debate

ANGERME is an idol group under Hello! Project, and the Goto, Hirayama, Ise, and Jokoryo named in the thread are all current or former members. The thread split into two camps: those who frame the problem as a matter of “management’s setlist and promotion decisions,” and those who see it as rooted in “the member lineup and the group’s direction itself.” The first camp called for scrapping the seniority-based setlist and building shows around Goto and Hirayama; the second went as far as suggesting disbandment or a full lineup overhaul. Some replies also pointed to overlapping fanbases with labelmate Juice=Juice, suggesting that the broader structure of multiple Hello! Project groups operating simultaneously is part of the backdrop — one that can’t be explained by a single group’s popularity alone.

Background and Key Points of This Topic

“All Night Nippon X” is a late-night radio slot that Nippon Broadcasting runs aimed at younger listeners. The ranking battles over ratings metrics like “Core,” “Cross,” and “Zero” — which came up repeatedly in the thread — are closely watched by Sakamichi (Nogizaka/Sakurazaka/Hinatazaka) fans as a gauge of each featured idol’s popularity. As for the high school with the entertainment-focused course that Ebata is said to have attended, there are several schools known for having many celebrity classmates, such as Horikoshi High School, and it isn’t unusual — even outside the Sakamichi groups — for multiple idols to end up as classmates. Centered on Yoko Shogenji and Hizaki Ebata’s friendship dating back to high school, the thread listed off several current Nogizaka46, Sakurazaka46, and Hinatazaka46 members who were Ebata’s classmates, drawing interest in these personal ties that cross group lines. At the same time, the thread also contained posts unrelated to the main topic — off-topic political one-liners and remarks looking down on the fan base among them — and this article leaves those out, focusing only on the friendship angle and the radio-show discussion.

It’s come to light that RENAN, the choreographer behind aespa and XG’s performances, is handling the choreography for Hello! Wait, they're actually making this garbage a single? It's done for.

That's a very "Juice" way for it to end, honestly. Tour tickets aren't even selling anymore.

    Re: #42
Don't sneak in a blatant lie like that, it's embarrassing.
    54AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:02
    Re: #42
I already got tickets for the fall tour so I'm going, but whether I go next spring depends on how that tour turns out. Lately it's been mostly TV promo appearances and "our dream came true"-type comments, with nothing about where they actually want to take their artistry next.

No wonder people are getting bored — and I'm not even the exception.
    44AnonymousOct 8, 2026 19:36
I could understand it if this were some dance-school special, but where is the group actually heading as a group from here? Are they going full K-pop?
    46AnonymousOct 8, 2026 19:38
    Re: #44
It's clearly a different direction, sure, but as a new challenge it makes for an interesting show. It's the kind of thing Hello! Project, which usually just runs the same in-house routines, would never normally do.
    57AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:08
    Re: #44
Everything but the lyrics comes from writers who usually work with boy groups, and the anime tie-in is aimed at fujoshi anyway — the song already existed and they just swapped in new lyrics to snag the tie-in deal. So there's not much point debating "direction" here.

Commissioning a Reiwa-era "Vivid Midnight" for Amecchi (member's nickname) — nice call!
    47AnonymousOct 8, 2026 19:41
    Re: #46
Even Hirai or Akiyama would probably struggle with that dance lesson, so of course members who aren't strong dancers are going to struggle with it too. Made me wonder what they're actually trying to do going forward. I guess this is just what happens when you go viral in a weird way. I could get it if they'd just done food and sightseeing like normal.
    55AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:05
    Re: #47
That's a pretty snide way to put it. If they pull it off, it's a new Juice=Juice; if they don't, it's just the old Juice=Juice. Now that they can finally reach outward and soak up new inspiration, it seems they've decided to brand themselves more as a performance-focused group than idols, and they're working on building up the dance skills they're still lacking.
    48AnonymousOct 8, 2026 19:44
Even with a project like this, their drive to improve is impressive. Meanwhile ANGERME just went sightseeing in Ise.

If you're talking about the blog content, it hasn't really changed much from before they got popular to now. They still write about dreams and goals even today. I think you're just looking at it through tinted glasses.

So how are you going to respond to that part, huh?
    75AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:34
    Re: #56
About the current, "finished" version of Juice=Juice, I once wrote this (lightly edited):
    —
Saying "entirely steered by the adults" sounds harsh, so let's call it "left to fend for itself by the adults" instead.
If the typical idol is one who never tries to break free of that "left to fend for itself" ceiling on their own, then Juice=Juice, at least as things stand now, isn't an act that transcends that typical idol ceiling either.

For idols who can't commit to the songwriting side, the only real place for "self-expression" is the live stage, however you look at it — and yet that live stage is itself "left to fend for itself" (referring to the fall tour).

The story a "finished," fully-formed Juice=Juice can tell, however many grain-of-sand-sized differences it contains, ultimately just ends up being a repetition of the same thing.

That's exactly what "being finished" means.
    62AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:20
Well, if they're going to the trouble of getting a great choreographer, you'd think they could've picked a better song to pair it with.
    63AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:21
    Re: #62
How so? Morning Musume and ANGERME have had even bigger-name choreographers.
    71AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:27
    Basically it's like this, right?
    73AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:32
This isn't what people want from Hello! Project — it's like expecting authentic Japanese cuisine and getting served a completely different genre of food instead.
    78AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:34

I think Juice=Juice is probably going to disband sometime next year. Everything they're doing lately feels so halfhearted.
    80AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:35
No wonder the hardcore Hello!-oji (older male fans) are emigrating over to Tsubaki Factory and Rosy Chronicle.

90% of those new fans have already left too, though.

I genuinely want my money back. Why am I paying to watch members who look like they're struggling this much, constantly getting talked down to by some guy I don't even know?
    91AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:41
    Re: #87
This wouldn't happen with ANGERME — poor thing. You should just drop Juice=Juice already.
    93AnonymousOct 8, 2026 20:43
Marketing them this way is going to burn the members out. Are they planning to disband once Dambara graduates?

    Re: #93
They're probably planning to disband next year. This whole thing already feels like it's entered the ending phase.

Background and Key Points of This Topic

Juice=Juice is a flagship Hello! Project group with over a decade of history, and this project was presented as part of a dance-lesson segment on a Hulu show. RENAN, who has handled choreography for overseas girl groups, is an unusual pick for a Hello! Project release. In the thread, opinions were divided less over the song itself and more over how adopting K-pop-style choreography and overseas location shoots might reshape the group’s future direction. That said, comments about ticket sales or a possible breakup were individual posters’ speculation within the thread, not officially announced facts, so some caution is warranted.

  • Suzu Hirose Caught Doing a Stunned ‘Five-Take’ Double-Take at a Korean Idol — Video Goes Viral

On October 7, 2026, actress Suzu Hirose attended Louis Vuitton’s 2027 Spring/Summer collection show in Paris, and a video capturing her doing an unmistakable “five-take” double-take at a Korean male idol in the audience went viral on social media. Her unguarded, girlish reaction — a sharp contrast to her usual cool image — had people calling it “too adorably girly,” but on 5channel the thread quickly drifted off-topic, dwelling instead on the chance appearance of Hidetoshi Nakata in the video and on differing impressions from photos later circulated as being of the idol himself. Opinions split between warm appreciation and cooler skepticism, with no consensus reached.

In Japan, though, she's hosted Kohaku (NHK's big New Year's Eve song show), so her name recognition is probably about on par with his.

    Re: #1
His build kind of looks like Hyde. (The L'Arc-en-Ciel vocalist.)

Background and Key Points of the Discussion

Paris Fashion Week venues draw celebrities and public figures from around the world, and the thread points out that Hidetoshi Nakata — who appears in Suzu Hirose’s video — is a known “regular” at these shows, so his appearance wasn’t pure coincidence. As for the male idol who was the target of her “five-take,” neither the article nor the thread offers any confirmed identification; some posts speculate by naming K-pop group members for comparison, but this remains pure guesswork. There were also repeated claims that the viral video and later-circulated still photos gave different impressions, but differences in angle, lighting, and expression commonly explain that kind of thing, so jumping straight to “plastic surgery” just because a face looks different in a video versus a photo is premature. Where the thread genuinely split was over how to read Hirose’s reaction — as “endearingly girlish” or as “rude” — with warm and cold takes coexisting side by side.

    Background and Talking Points

It’s become customary for Hello! Project’s flagship events to hold a “Birthday Event” timed to each member’s birthday, selling original goods by mail order exclusively to fan club members. The ordering window is typically short, around three weeks, and shipping often doesn’t happen until a few months later — this time too, orders close on October 30 with delivery expected in early December. On the thread, comments centered mainly on positive impressions of the costume and the T-shirt’s illustration design, though some also compared it to past costumes, such as skirt length, showing just how much interest there is in each member’s costume trends. The venue is Starlight Theater, formerly known as “Hikosen (Airship) Theater,” and the second round of ticket acceptance also announced that Hayashi Nina (Juice=Juice) would appear as MC, drawing attention to this cross-group collaboration.

  • Hulu Exclusively Streams Juice=Juice’s Korean Training Camp Show as They Finalize New Single’s Choreography

Episode 1 of “Juice=Juice Summer Camp in Korea,” a Hulu-exclusive series following popular Hello! Project group Juice=Juice’s training camp in Korea, began streaming on October 8, 2026 at 18:00. The show follows the members as they travel to Korea to finish choreography for their new single “Karei naru Revenger” (“Glorious Revenger”), mixing dance lessons with variety-style location segments. On the Hello! Project board of 5ch, the thread buzzed with two main topics: finally getting to check their guesses against the earlier “guess the member from the back-view silhouette” teaser posts, and the practical question of when to subscribe, since the November 25 Pia Arena concert is also set to stream on Hulu.

    Risachi's got long legs.
    14AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:06
Someone posted that they could only tell who 'Mesa' was — but isn't that actually Risachi?
    15AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:06
    Time to check our guesses.
    16AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:07
Arisawa Chichika-chan is way too gorgeous.
    20AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:08
Ishiyama is insane (in a good way).

Dude's reacting on pure reflex lol ("spinal reflex" = knee-jerk reaction).
    31AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:11
I wonder if a live-watch thread will pop up today or over the weekend.
If one goes up, I'll time my viewing to join in.

These guys are really selling, huh.

Went to Caribbean Bay, then went to eat samgyeopsal in Euljiro, and there was this idol group called Juice=Juice there — I thought they were Equal Love (=LOVE) and even told the staff that, but it turned out to actually be Juice=Juice lol

Guess I'll just subscribe to Hulu for one month.
    49AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:17
    Re: #44
If they're putting it on Hulu now, that means the Nov 25 Pia Arena livestream will also be on Hulu — so if you're subscribing starting today, you should probably plan on sticking it out for two months.
    47AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:16
Is this the one where Risachi woke up and it was already meeting time?
    48AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:16
Wish they'd give us more notice on the streaming schedule — announcing it today and starting to stream the same day?
    53AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:18
    Kawashima
8/25 Today I got to eat something really delicious, so it was a happy day ♩
8/26 Woke up with terrible muscle soreness, it was rough
8/27 I was so happy that Inoue-san wore the outfit Mifu gave her as a present

    Irie
8/25 I woke up really early today. Mom packed me some apple slices she'd cut up, and Dad drove me
8/27 Massive oversleep ( ; ; ) I was supposed to show up already in hair and makeup, but I woke up right at meeting time
    54AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:19
Guess I'll subscribe anyway since there's the big-venue show too.
    55AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:19
Back when they posted just the back-view silhouettes,

someone reposted saying "I could instantly tell Haru, Mei, and Homare apart"

…but doesn't that person look kind of silly now?
    56AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:19
Apparently it runs through Episode 5, streaming every Thursday.

    I see
There's a bit of a gap between the finale and the Nov 25 (Wed) Pia Arena show.
    60AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:19
Guess that means a two-month subscription to cover through the big-venue stream.
    66AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:21
    Re: #60
The Year-End Party show (Hello! Project's annual year-end concert) is on Hulu too.
    61AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:20
    Juice is really selling, huh.
    64AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:20
    Grateful for the special program.
Wish they'd broadcast Budokan too, not just Pia Arena.
    72AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:22
    Re: #64
Yeah, I'd love for them to do Budokan too.
Even a pay-per-ticket system would be fine.
    65AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:20
So does that mean the choreography for 'Karei naru' is by a Korean choreographer?
    70AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:21
    Re: #63
So 'Karei naru Revenger' gets its first-ever performance at Budokan on 11/6?
    71AnonymousOct 8, 2026 13:22
The exact moment the cymbals went off in my head, notebook and all (a riff on the cymbal-banging toy monkey meme for your brain completely blanking out).

    Background and Key Points

The series updates every Thursday, running from Episode 1 on October 8 through Episode 5 on November 5, after which there’s roughly a three-week gap before the November 25 Pia Arena concert. Since a live stream of that concert is also planned to run through Hulu, the thread’s main focus became the practical calculation of exactly when to subscribe and when to cancel. On the new single “Karei naru Revenger,” some posters wondered who choreographed it, while others hoped for its first live performance at a Budokan show — though it’s worth noting that, as of now, only the Pia Arena concert has been officially announced, and a Budokan show is not confirmed. The “guess who’s who from the back-view silhouettes” game that got the thread going early on is a recurring pastime among Hello! Project fans, often seen around new-member announcements — and this time, it turned out right after the stream dropped that a number of the earlier guesses were wrong.
