The story

Comedian Nagano, appearing alongside guest Kajisack (King Kong’s Yuta Kajiwara) on TV Asahi’s late-night show “Nagano & Kuruma no Hikkakari Nietzsche,” nailed the essence of his guest with the line that he’s “someone who got into showbiz just for looking like Okamura.” During the show, Kajiwara had been venting about how attention always seems to gravitate toward his partner Akihiro Nishino whenever he’s on TV, and Nagano’s remark came out of that exchange. On 5ch, many commenters enjoyed poking fun at how much Kajiwara resembles Takashi Okamura, while opinions split on Nagano’s own recent rise in TV appearances — some calling it proof of talent, others framing it as a rebound following the Tomonori Jinnai incident.

Nagano bluntly calls Kajisack “someone who got into showbiz just for looking like Okamura” — but says “it’s all hilarious”

Comedian Nagano (52) appeared on TV Asahi’s “Nagano & Kuruma no Hikkakari Nietzsche” (Tuesdays, 12:45 AM), which aired late at night on the 27th. During the episode, he nailed the essence of guest “Kajisack” — King Kong’s Yuta Kajiwara (46).

Kajiwara appeared as a guest that day. When he vented about his current predicament — that attention tends to shift to his partner Akihiro Nishino whenever he’s on TV —

Re: #1
Kajiwara's basically generic Okamura — even the tracksuit is Mecha-ike's Okamura's.
His partner, too — he picked someone in the Yabe mold, with Nishino.

Kajiwara's funny though lol
Never actually watched his YouTube though lol

Re: #4
There's at least one difference!

The color of the tracksuit
5AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:23
The King Kong episode of Nietzsche was actually funny

"Bluntly calls out" —
Do these couch-potato writers ("kotatsu writers" — bloggers who crank out articles from home without real reporting) really need to use "bluntly" that badly
It's actually gross

Back when he was starting out, he co-hosted a radio show with Sayaka Ichii after she left Morning Musume — back then Ichii was the bigger star, and the two King Kong guys acted like retainers serving the strong-willed "Princess Ichii"
10AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:28
Why'd he deliberately drop the honorific and just say "Okamura"?
12AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:31
It's really just riding on Takashi Okamura's name value
13AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:33
Ever since Nagano provoked Jinnai and got hit for it, he's clearly been quietly blacklisted from TV.
He doesn't get the exposure he used to.
Seems like he's working hard on internet stuff though

Re: #13
What kind of take is that lol
His exposure's actually gone up since the Jinnai thing lol

He's even the MC of "Warai no Hi" (Comedy Day), you know?
15AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:39
Praise him to the skies to get him comfortable, then stick the poison needle right in the weak spot lol
16AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:43
Why drop the honorific like that?

Re: #16
From the viewer's perspective??

Re: #16
It's kind of like saying "he started baseball because he admired Otani" —
like he's emphasizing that this guy only got started because he happened to resemble that figure he saw on TV
19AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:51
What's with Nagano suddenly acting like some big-shot veteran out of nowhere?

Re: #19
He used to be just an underground cult comedian.
Back in the day he was the type getting stuffed into a sports bag or forced to chug Tabasco sauce — but yeah, he's clearly got real talent

Re: #19
He's been on TV a lot lately — wonder what's pulling strings behind that
21AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:51
I wouldn't blame the guy himself for this one —

isn't this just how Yoshimoto decided to market him?

The whole "Nainai-style" marketing approach
22AnonymousOct 29, 2026 09:53
Nagano's actually pretty popular with female celebrities
25AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:01
He might be one of the rare comedians I've never actually laughed at
26AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:01
So this guy vanished from TV because he provoked Jinnai?
He was getting cocky and it was annoying, so I'm relieved
37AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:21
Re: #26
Far from vanishing, his MC gigs have actually been increasing
28AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:04
I want Kansai-dialect people to be simple, upbeat extroverts like Americans.
I can't stand it when someone with a Kansai accent comes across as clingy

Re: #28
If I saw the two guys from Messenger standing side by side, I think I'd pass out

Ninety-Nine
↓
King Kong
↓
Shimofuri Myojo

Basically just the same formula reheated over and over
30AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:06
Honestly I'm getting tired of Nagano's whole shtick too
33AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:09
Re: #30
I get that.
It's great when he pops in from the side while someone else is the main act, but I'm not really into Nagano as the main act
34AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:16
I first found out about Nagano through a Momoiro Clover Z show
35AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:18
Nagano's boring too, so of course he vibes with other boring guys
36AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:19
I got to know Nagano through Titan Live —
he was killing it there
38AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:23
Compared to how Okamura is these days, Kajiwara's actually funnier
39AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:23
Kajiwara showing up all cheerful without even noticing he was being clowned on — that was genuinely hilarious
43AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:28
I watched some old videos of Hideaki Tokunaga and his face is a dead ringer for Okamura's
44AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:29
Re: #43
Turns out it's literally Okamura himself lol
56AnonymousOct 29, 2026 10:57
Watching the two King Kong guys talk, I always get a weird feeling from how their intonation is this odd mix of Kansai and Kanto dialects
64AnonymousOct 29, 2026 11:14
Re: #56
Same with Cocorico and Ryo from London Boots — their Kansai dialect fades out halfway, which makes it sound off.
Ryo's half-baked Kansai phrase "chau darou" (a mangled way of saying "that's not right") used to get made fun of back in the day

Background and key points of this discussion

Throughout the 2010s, Nagano was a “dues-paying” comedian known mainly for late-night location shows, but in recent years his MC work has increased and his TV exposure has grown. The thread split over how to read that rise: some saw it as proof of talent, while others framed it as a rebound after being sidelined from TV following his clash with Tomonori Jinnai. In reality, his MC work has kept increasing even after the Jinnai incident, so the idea that Nagano is being blacklisted doesn’t match his actual recent trajectory. The other point of contention was how to judge Yuta Kajiwara (King Kong) — some enjoyed Nagano’s remark that he “only got into showbiz because he looks like Okamura” as an extension of the self-deprecating jokes about his partner Akihiro Nishino, while others took it as a genuine measure of the talent gap between them. There was also talk of a “lineage” running from Ninety-Nine to King Kong to Shimofuri Myojo as similar success formulas, though this points to a shared comedic style rather than a personal attack.
