BEYOOOOONDS’ New Single Stalls on TikTok, Hello! Project Comparisons Spark Debate

The story

On the Hello! Project board of 5ch, posters are voicing that it’s “gotten kind of sad” that TikTok posts for BEYOOOOONDS’ new single “Hai to Diamond” (Ash to Diamond) are still being pushed as the group’s main promotional tool long after its release. The thread shared TikTok usage counts from October 6 to 11: Juice=Juice’s “Kura Kura☆Climax” rose from 7,911 to 8,078 posts, and Morning Musume’s “SEXY BOY” climbed from 1,369 to 1,572, while “Hai to Diamond” grew only sluggishly, from 1,233 to 1,298. Even at its peak, the music video for “Hai to Diamond” topped out at 26,265 views in a day, compared to 29,585 for “SEXY BOY,” sparking a split debate over the new song’s momentum and the group’s release schedule.

It's like digging a mountain that's already stripped of every gem,
still convinced there's more buried in there.
2AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:20
They should've just kept cranking out songs in that style.
4AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:23
It's already been overtaken by "Glasses Boy" (another BEYOOOOONDS song).
5AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:25
They'll keep digging even while coughing up blood from their lungs
for that diamond called "going viral."
6AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:25
Is "Hai to Diamond" really that good a song?
Personally I like "Vitamin ME" or "Glasses Boy" better.
11AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:28
Re: #6
Out of those, "Glasses Boy" works best for short-form video.
9AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:26
"Shoshisenban" (lit. "utterly ridiculous") is already a confirmed flop, so they've got no choice but to drag "Hai to Diamond" along for another year.
83AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:17
Re: #9
It's basically turned into a scaled-down mini version of what Juice=Juice did with the "Moremi" trend (fans' nickname for Juice=Juice's viral TikTok trend).
12AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:29
They brought back the high-energy style,
and nobody cared about the song at all.
13AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:29
The saddest part is the likes barely grew at all.
14AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:30
It's looking more and more confirmed that the new single just isn't gonna take off, rough lol
16AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:31
In the end, Juice=Juice's "Moremi" is the only real winner here.
Every other group is just flailing for nothing.
22AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:33
Re: #16
Fair point.
Everything else is dead air.
21AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:33
Honestly I'm sick of hearing it by now.
At least switch it up to "Doudidan" or something.
56AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:57
Re: #21
Once streaming starts tomorrow, the "Sho-Sho-Sho" push should kick in — they were already rushing to wrap up "Hai to Diamond" at the end.
I can already see the same dark, monotone-melody hell as with "Doudidan."
24AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:35
Juice=Juice's "Moremi" videos have topped 300.
BEYOOOOONDS should put up 300 "Hai to Diamond" videos too, and the fans should stick with it and hype it up.
Grind it all the way to a sold-out Budokan, then slap the live footage straight up on YouTube, right?
Same as the "Moremi" playbook.

Re: #24
Don't bother, it's a waste of time for BEYOOOOONDS.
Zero chance.
34AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:40
Re: #24
Looking at the comments, "Moremi" keeps pulling in new fans,
but "Hai to Diamond" is only being carried by die-hard BEYOOOOONDS otaku.
29AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:38
"Hai to Diamond," "RED LINE," "Ai = Un + En + On," and "SEXY BOY" ("Sekubo") — they're all done.
Some people still think "Sekubo" has momentum, but it's over too.
31AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:39
Re: #29
Wait, the Hyadain one's already over?
Isn't that way too fast?
37AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:41
Aoi Yamazaki is seriously impressive… I wish they'd make a viral hit for groups besides Juice=Juice too.
41AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:44
Re: #37
What about "RED LINE"?
42AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:44
Tsunku: "I'm deliberately making stylish songs that don't do well on TikTok."
44AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:48
Re: #42
I get that he's burned out after making so many songs in the past, but still…
46AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:49
48AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:50
The steadily shrinking like count is the real story here.
52AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:52
Re: #48
Stuff like that gets rough in the back half.
It's kind of them to let the new members take the lead on it.
54AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:53
If it's getting dramatically more views than everything else, fine.
But if the view count hasn't changed from before they started posting it, that's just dumb.
57AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:57
Re: #54
The view count is actually worse than their other videos.
55AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:54
Peak single-day MV views
"Hai to Diamond": 26,265 views
"SEXY BOY": 29,585 views

So close, but it still couldn't beat the frozen fried rice (a jokey reference to an unrelated viral TikTok trend used here as the benchmark).
58AnonymousOct 11, 2026 13:58
Re: #55
So even going viral with hundreds of thousands of likes, it still can't crack 30,000 views? That's almost impressive in the wrong direction.
65AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:03
Re: #58
Nope, it didn't. And so everyone went back to "Koi Revo" (an old nostalgia hit).
61AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:01
Unlike "Red Line" ("RED LINE"), they can't even put out new live footage.
Hang in there — apparently new footage is coming for "Red Line."
At this point BEYOOOOONDS fans should probably take a break and save their energy for the next single anyway, since the lineup selection (senbatsu) for it is still unknown.
66AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:04
Re: #61
Wasn't it basically "closed for business" because they're in stage-play rehearsals right now?

Re: #1
Current TikTok usage counts for the songs each Hello! Project group is pushing (10/06 → 10/11):
7,911 → 8,078 (+167) Juice=Juice, "Kura Kura☆Climax"
1,369 → 1,572 (+203) Morning Musume, "SEXY BOY"
1,233 → 1,298 (+65) BEYOOOOONDS, "Hai to Diamond"
848 → 912 (+64) Tsubaki Factory, "Ai = Un + En + On"
725 → 737 (+12) ANGERME, "RED LINE"
69AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:07
Re: #64
I figured "Ai Un En On" would be doing better than "Hai to Diamond."
It's an easier song to cover too.
70AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:07
Only releasing once a year is the real shackle here —
they end up grinding whatever already got results at release time, over and over.
75AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:12
Re: #70
Exactly — they put out so few singles that they've even had to lean on album tracks before, so even when everyone feels "this isn't it," pushing "Hai to Diamond" is still the only option right now.
71AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:09
In the solo shots
they're just flopping their hands around —
I don't understand even a millimeter of what they're going for or what they want viewers to do.
82AnonymousOct 11, 2026 14:17
Re: #71
They probably want people to copy the diamond shape made with both hands,
but honestly, that's just too lame.

Background and Key Points of Debate

Each Hello! Project group is constrained to roughly one single release per year, which forces them to keep leaning on existing songs for TikTok promotion until a new one arrives. This isn’t unique to BEYOOOOONDS — the thread also brings up usage figures for other groups’ songs, such as Tsubaki Factory and ANGERME, as points of comparison. The debate centered on which metric — the growth rate in post counts or peak MV views — should be used to judge a song as “doing well” or “struggling”: in absolute terms the song still has a dedicated fan base behind it, but some argued it lags behind other groups’ songs when it comes to pulling in new listeners. It’s worth noting that the figures in this article reflect a snapshot from when they were posted in the thread, and the numbers may have moved since then.

※This article is compiled and summarized from the 5ch (Hello! Project board) thread “It’s gotten kind of sad that BEYOOOOONDS is still only posting “Hai to Diamond” on TikTok.”
