Re: #1
So they actually fired him
Even though they covered it up for SMAP and Arashi

Re: #2
Two SMAP members got arrested, but no one from Arashi ever has, right?
3AnonymousOct 1, 2026 09:57
If your whole business model is female fans, hitting a woman is obviously a dealbreaker
5AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:01
So does this mean Inomata's just retiring for good?
6AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:04
There's no way he can keep showing up acting all 'I'm an idol~' after this, obviously
7AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:04
He probably can't pull a Tegoshi and go independent either, so retirement it is, huh
9AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:05
So much for 'we're family,' huh
15AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:08
Re: #9
Even real family gets cut off if they commit a crime

Smart move — climb up from the underground idol scene (men-chika) into Johnny's, cash in on the name recognition, then slip back into the underground scene once the timing's right
12AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:06
Is he going to start running the same kind of business as Ichioka now?
13AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:07
Well, at least he walked away with the 'former Johnny's' name value
16AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:10
The other members had no prior knowledge of the conduct in question and were not involved in it.
As far as our company has been able to confirm at this time, we have found no evidence that they were aware of any signs that could have predicted this.

I don't get why Kikuchi and the other members are getting bashed over this
37AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:48
Re: #22
They were getting bashed over the TV Asahi "Juice" thing too, so maybe there's some hostile faction out there?
Feels like anything gets turned into a club to beat them with, lol
33AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:44
This is turning into another 'Morning Musume wrecked by Kitagawa' situation
35AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:46
Re: #33
This one's worse because it's an actual arrest
Secret-account drama or member infighting happens fairly often in idol groups, but this is a different level
41AnonymousOct 1, 2026 10:51
This is exactly why — Johnny's fans who go on about 'normies committing crimes' act like homegrown criminals such as Tanaka and Taguchi never happened

Is it actually true that Kikuchi's dad wrote Arashi's debut song?

Re: #42
Just the lyrics
The music was composed by the famous composer Koji Makaino
50AnonymousOct 1, 2026 11:01
Ah, this is the kind of thing Kenken-ota (fans of Hello! Project trainees) always say
54AnonymousOct 1, 2026 11:04
Re: #50
Nah, even if you're not a trainee fan, having a 23-year-old join Morning Musume would be weird, right?
56AnonymousOct 1, 2026 11:08
Re: #54
Male idols can keep going past 40, so it's a totally different situation
53AnonymousOct 1, 2026 11:03
Hello! Project's trainee fans bash general-recruit members just as hard too, so it's pretty similar > Junior fans
55AnonymousOct 1, 2026 11:07
Re: #53
If the audition had an average age of 15 and that's who joined timelesz, I don't think they'd be getting bashed

Re: #56
Debuting under old Johnny's means the agency pushes you hard and you're set for life, so it's better to make them pay their dues first

Re: #55
No way, a 15-year-old would stand out surrounded by grown men

Re: #60
Hello! Project has older women in it too though
71AnonymousOct 1, 2026 11:26
You really can't tell from an interview alone whether someone's hiding violent tendencies or weird kinks.
If you see someone all the time you might start to notice something's off, but with just neighbors, even after an arrest, the interviews are full of 'he seemed like such a nice guy' comments.
Like, 'no way, not him…'

Re: #71
Women who've actually dated him would probably think 'huh, something was off' when it comes to trouble with women
But that side doesn't always show up in guy-to-guy relationships, so it's hard to catch

Background and Points of Debate

timelesz is a group under the lineage of the former Johnny’s Entertainment, and its management company, STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, was renamed and restructured from the old agency following the 2023 sexual abuse scandal involving its founder. This latest announcement likewise stuck to the vague phrase “a serious contractual violation” without disclosing specifics. A rumor that he “hit a woman” spread through the thread, but this isn’t stated anywhere in the source article and remains an unconfirmed assumption. The debate split between the view that past scandals involving SMAP and Arashi were “covered up,” and the perception that this time, unlike in the old Johnny’s era, the agency moved swiftly all the way to contract termination. There were also comments touching on the background and relationships of remaining member Fuma Kikuchi’s father, but it’s worth noting these remain unverified rumors with no confirmed facts.
