The story
Social media users reportedly spotted a listing on an Australian eShop showing the upcoming remake of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” priced at AU$94.95 (roughly $60 USD). On the thread, the low price fueled speculation that this might be more of a remaster than a full remake, while others pointed to the graphical style as a sign that FromSoftware or Monolith Soft could be involved. A release date of November 13 was also floated, prompting some concern about competing with a major title launching the following week.

What people said
That one's $50 on the eShop.
It's this close to release, so it's probably the real price.
Even as a remake, it'll probably outsell Air Riders overseas, if not domestically.

Re: #12
Raiders? What's that?
Air Rider(s)? What's that?
If the Direct announces Majora's Mask along the same lines, that could happen (like releasing six months later). Not a bundle exactly, but it'd be nice if owning Ocarina of Time let you buy it cheap like an expansion.
Whatever, but quit it with the remakes already.
Just hurry up and release something new — what are you, Sony?
I think the new 3D game has been in planning since roughly partway through Tears of the Kingdom's development. With these two Directs back to back, it wouldn't be strange if at least the title got announced.
Though it's also possible they're saving it to line up with the movie release instead of this time.
A new mainline game takes over five years to develop, and the remakes are outsourced to studios like Grezzo, so stopping the remakes wouldn't actually make the new game come out any faster.
This graphics style looks like a FromSoftware co-development.
Can't say for sure it's Monolith Soft's doing,
but I don't think Monolith is uninvolved either.
Internal staff being involved is also a given.
So it's FromSoft after all, huh.

so yeah, it doesn't feel like a full remake on the level of Resident Evil or FF7.
Don't casually lump Resident Evil and the FF7 remake together —
the latter turned out the way it did, you know.
Even that one — once it was out, nobody talked about the actual content of the game.
What world are you living in, lol.
It got plenty of buzz.
Go ahead, tell me about the actual content then.
The dual-protagonist thing was a big talking point, wasn't it.
Or a round ¥9,900, maybe…
But the console price hike is looking rougher than expected, so honestly ¥3,980-ish would be the better call here.
Too expensive, lol.
Please keep it under ¥7,800.
GTA drops the following week.
That's got nothing to do with it.
Completely different audience.
Also, Nintendo games these days basically always release on Thursdays, so the fact that this is set for a Friday already kills the credibility of the date.
So you're waiting until Switch 3?
That'd be way too dumb.
If they somehow did split it, I could see ¥3,698 for part one and ¥3,698 for part two.
But the FF7 approach would be hell.
I used to speedrun it, so I've played it well over a hundred times.
Nintendo announced today (May 22, 2026) that the Nintendo Switch Online music streaming service "Nintendo Music" has started offering tracks from "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds" (Kamitora 2).

That's a meaningful thumbnail, huh?
Duality (two sides)
for something that's just remaster-level.
It's probably mainly to promote the movie, right?
Background and Key Points of This Discussion
“The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” originally released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, and the series marks its 40th anniversary this year. It’s worth noting that the price information causing all the buzz was simply a number displayed on one overseas eShop listing — it is not an official announcement from Nintendo. The thread’s opinions split mainly on two points: first, whether the roughly $60 price tag signals a “budget, simplified remake” or is simply a reasonable price; and second, speculation over which studio is actually handling development. Some pointed to the graphical style as reason to suspect involvement from FromSoftware or Monolith Soft, but this remains pure speculation. The November 13 release date is also unconfirmed, and while some raised concerns about it clashing with a major title launching the following week, that too is still just a rumor, and its real-world impact on sales is unknown at this time.
