Most of the replies agreed that many One Piece antis are “flipped antis” — former devoted believers — which is why their grudge runs so much deeper. Complaints centered on the split in opinion starting around the Thriller Bark and Water Seven arcs, plus frustration over the retcon revealing that the “Gum-Gum Fruit” was actually the “Nika Fruit” all along. It was right around just before Alabasta started
Up through Water Seven it was definitely good

Antis like this — not even realizing that Nezuko's eye moment parallels the earring/Sun Pirates thing in One Piece, or that how Muzan gets defeated parallels "the 41-year-old's" method — probably just means they haven't actually read one or the other (note: obscure fan-theory comparison, exact meaning unclear)

That crappy Oden flashback arc was way too long, didn't need all that
I think Demon Slayer never went on hiatus
One Piece takes a break basically every month, sometimes even twice a month, so that's probably why
I gave up on it at the Nika reveal, but respect to anyone who stayed a believer after that
Feels like they should've laid the groundwork way earlier, but watching the people who got hyped over Yamato turn around and trash the Nika reveal — I just figured, why not quit reading at that point
Suddenly introducing a new character like Yamato and burning tons of pages on her was garbage too
A crappy retcon manga that even taints its own classic past scenes
Stop adding unnecessary stuff
They got betrayed by the thing they worshipped and flipped into antis

If we're going with the idol analogy, it's more like "the members are getting older, I'm getting bored, I want to see new idols, so just disband the group already" territory
Actually, I'd already started feeling off about it since the back half of Water Seven
Back then I basically got treated like some contrarian, but that sense of wrongness I felt at the time kept spreading, and more and more people started agreeing with me
Makes me feel pretty moved, like "yeah, I was right back then"
Was the Summit War arc no good then?
Aside from that ending, it was pretty exciting
I'd already lost interest before the Summit War
I only ended up reading it years later

Compared to a manga that's nothing but retcons, One Piece is way more fun

Bad pacing, just got boring — give me the actual reason

Well yeah, if they flip the whole foundation of the story upside down, of course you go "huh?"
I mean, if they came out and said "lol there never was a One Piece treasure, suckers"

But "Luffy turned out to be a god"
doesn't seem all that different from "Goku turned out to be an alien" to me
That's not really why people can't accept Nika
If Dragon Ball had Goku's eyeballs suddenly pop out Tom-and-Jerry style during the Buu arc, that'd get trashed too
If "Luffy had a god fruit all along" feels the same to you as "Goku is an alien," then you've got the kind of sensibility that can actually enjoy One Piece — honestly kind of envious
It's so hard to read at this point it's basically unreadable, honestly on par with Samurai 8 (note: Kishimoto's infamously incomprehensible flop manga)
But it's still more fun than Bleach, right?
Between current One Piece and Bleach, Bleach is more fun
