Capturing CO2 directly is way more efficient.
Experts worldwide have flatly said that switching to eco-bags, swapping cars for bikes, or ditching plastic bottles for reusable ones doesn't actually accomplish much. Fine if people want to do it anyway, I guess. But more to the point, we just need to capture the CO2 — apparently there are plans to install CO2-capture equipment, targeting 2030.

On the medium-to-long-term cycle we're actually supposed to be heading into a slightly cooler period right now, and yet the average temperature is rising. Do you not get how alarming that is?
They say the Jomon period (6,000 years ago) was about 2°C warmer than now. So we're basically heading back toward Jomon-era climate. And the Edo period is said to have been a mini ice age.
If that's true, wouldn't coral have gone extinct back in the Jomon period?

Don't get the concept of a global average, huh (lol). You'd do better understanding Japan's own historical temperatures than obsessing over the global average. By that logic the Jomon period must've hit 42°C. Guess going naked was peak efficiency back then (lol).
1.5°C "on average" is seriously bad news. Something that would normally play out over a geological timescale of tens of thousands of years is happening in just two or three hundred years instead — of course that's going to trigger all kinds of natural disasters. Species that can't adapt fast enough will go extinct one after another. And in the end, we won't be able to maintain an environment humans can actually survive in.

The Industrial Revolution happened right when temperatures had dropped a ton — it was the low point of a wave that runs on a scale of centuries to a millennium.
The Edo period was cold enough that the Sumida River froze over. In the Jomon period, it didn't even snow in Aomori. Earth's temperature moves in waves, you know.
It's actually the opposite. Earth is basically like a thermos floating in the vacuum of space — getting rid of excess heat is the hard part.
Funny, then, that this summer was actually cool — felt just like summers 30 years ago. The cicadas were singing, the mosquitoes were out too. Is there someone out there who's actually bothered when summer temperatures come in around normal?

Warming is an urgent problem for humanity. What you're saying is on the level of pointing out that even if humanity or Earth vanished, it wouldn't matter to the universe — completely beside the point.
Even on the Earth-scale you're talking about, human extinction is a trivial matter too, then, right?
The whole issue is whether Earth's environment can keep supporting humanity's continued existence, that's the point.

Talk of "Earth's environment" is pure human ego anyway — it's only ever about whether the environment is convenient for humans or not. For life as a whole, a warmer environment is actually better.

Way too pessimistic (lol). Don't remember which country, but there've been similar tsunamis in the past on the order of 30 meters. This kind of thing has always happened.
In 1958 an earthquake in Alaska caused a glacier collapse, triggering a tsunami on the order of 500 meters, apparently. So even the one in Nepal was actually small-scale by comparison.
