Nozomi Sasaki’s Son and Daughter Fight Over Who Gets Mom — Husband’s Face Says It All

The story

Actress Nozomi Sasaki made a guest appearance on TV Asahi’s “After My Husband Falls Asleep,” airing late night on the 13th, where she talked about raising her kids. Her 8-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter apparently both compete over who gets to be “next to Mom,” leaving her husband, Ken Watanabe, with a complicated look on his face. On the 5ch Entertainment/Sports News+ thread, rather than focusing on this heartwarming family anecdote itself, the conversation centered almost entirely on Watanabe’s involvement in the affair scandal reported in 2020 (the so-called “multi-purpose restroom” incident), with many posters cracking jokes referencing his old scandal.

Sounds like Dad doesn't even get to enter the race for Mom's affection
7AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:08
Dad can just call up plenty of other women on LINE anytime he wants
8AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:08
Let's hope they don't go off the rails.
When you think about them hitting that age where a classmate finds out about the 'multi-purpose restroom' thing, he really did something unforgivable as a father
9AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:08
It'd be hilarious if he had that same face he had at the press conference

Watanabe: 'It's fine, I'm on top of Mom at night anyway.'

Mom might be the one on top

Re: #12
Watanabe: 'So, I'm on the Nozomi (bullet train) right now…'
Kojima: 'Don't call me to tell me that!'

I love that bit

There was a family at a pasta place — a kindergarten-age girl with her parents at the table diagonally across from me — and the girl burst into tears of distress the second her dad spoke to her.
He had this devastated look on his face… maybe he wasn't actually her father?
What do you even have to do to get hated that badly?

Re: #13
If he is the father, maybe he's away on a long work posting
51AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:38
I came over from the thread about Ryoko Kuninaka's older son calling her an 'old hag.'

Re: #13
Some guys act completely different at home than out in public — threatening and overbearing indoors, but playing the sweet, gentle dad once they step outside
14AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:10
I wonder if the kids even know about the 'multi-purpose restroom' thing
15AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:10
Well, no matter how unfairly he gets treated, Watanabe's in no position to get angry about it
All he can do is devote himself to his wife and kids

Re: #1
'Multi-purpose' J( 'ー`)し Mom (riffing on the classic exhausted-mom ASCII-art meme)
20AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:13
Of course they would.
Pretty much everyone would pick Nozomi Sasaki over Watanabe
21AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:13
Dad gives you 10,000 yen if you go to the multi-purpose restroom
22AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:14
Honestly, she could just live without men from here on out
23AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:15
Wait, who's the dad again? Oh right, Mr. Multi-Purpose.
Yeah, well… that explains it, doesn't it? lol
25AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:16
Watanabe hasn't been showing up on YouTube lately.
He's funny, so did he lose his edge or something?
27AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:16
Even little kids don't want anything to do with the multi-purpose restroom, huh
31AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:19
No matter how much the kids say they prefer Mom, he's got to keep playing the kind dad — otherwise, once they find out about the 'multi-purpose' thing when they're older, he'll get cut off for good
If he actually raises them with love, there's a chance they'll come around to 'well, Mom forgave him, so…'
32AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:19
Just build him a multi-purpose restroom at home already
33AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:19
Watanabe's the type who rots away if he's not cheating on someone
34AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:20
Well, obviously.
Mom smells nice! Dad smells like the toilet!
37AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:25
Of course they want to sit next to their gorgeous mom.
Obviously
39AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:25
I mean, it's not like Dad even likes the kids all that much either
42AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:27
So the multi-purpose restroom guy has the nerve to take his family out to eat, huh
43AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:28
Well, of course nobody wants to sit next to Mr. Multi-Purpose — kids just sense it instinctively
44AnonymousOct 14, 2026 10:30
Normally kids grow closer to their dad as they get older, but this guy's probably going to get hated more and more the older they get lol
78AnonymousOct 14, 2026 11:09
Re: #74
If that were all, it'd still be manageable
The real problem is the content
The way he treated the women was just awful
How's he even going to explain that to his kids?
86AnonymousOct 14, 2026 11:22
Kids these days are digital natives, so there's a real chance they find out what their parent did back when they were still in kindergarten
88AnonymousOct 14, 2026 11:24
Re: #86
Even if they don't look it up themselves, their friends will find it for them
Kids are googling stuff and searching YouTube on their own by around age 3 these days
96AnonymousOct 14, 2026 11:30
Kids start picking up on their parents' sexual stuff pretty much as soon as they're old enough to understand things

And looking at how he treated the woman he had the affair with,
you can tell he's just a selfish person as a rule
101AnonymousOct 14, 2026 11:34
Re: #96
That part was hilarious.
The woman Watanabe had the affair with went to a tabloid and called it 'an affair.'
So Sasaki came right back at her with something like, 'Oh, so it was an affair? Then I guess I'll be filing for damages against you — since it was an affair and all, I'll expect a hefty payout, thanks,' and the woman just went silent and vanished lol

Background and Key Points of This Topic

In 2020, while active as part of the comedy duo “Anjash,” Ken Watanabe had relationships with multiple women that were reported by tabloid magazines, leading him to take a long hiatus from entertainment work. The keyword “multi-purpose restroom” comes from the secret meeting spot named in that reporting, and has since become a go-to mocking nickname for him online. This thread was originally about a heartwarming episode Nozomi Sasaki shared about raising her kids, but most of the replies drifted into jokes rehashing his old affair scandal. Note that the affair was not a criminal matter, and some comments using the term “sex crime” are a mischaracterization that doesn’t match the reported facts.
