Some people are saying it's second- and third-generation immigrants rioting — is that actually true?

Re: #4
It's brutal — to begin with, there are already no-go zones immigrants have taken over through local elections that you can't even walk through.
9AnonymousOct 3, 2026 18:54
Impressive that they actually take action
Japan's Gen Z could never pull that off.

Re: #9
Same goes for you, buddy.
10AnonymousOct 3, 2026 18:55
lol they're losing it over 40 kids per class
That's a normal class size though?

Re: #10
When I was in elementary school we had 45 kids in a class…
17AnonymousOct 3, 2026 18:58
Japanese high schoolers just smirk cynically from the sidelines and never actually do anything lol

But if this becomes a global trend, Japan's Gen Z will copy it too, just as a fashion statement lol
Though it'll be all style with zero actual will to fight lol
48AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:11
Honestly, I think we're starting to see the limits of modern protest
In both the US and Europe lately, even demonstrations that start with legitimate demands end up turning into riots where people just loot local shops.

Re: #48
Revolution comes bundled with violence
Just accept it as a noble sacrifice.

Re: #48
Put another way, that just shows how meaningless pure argument is
No matter how righteous your words are, the structure where evil rules the world never changes
Without violence to remove the evil, nothing changes

In other words, conflict only ever happens between parties on the same level
If your opponent is evil, you have no choice but to become evil yourself
That's how world history has always been made
52AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:13
France really is the exact opposite of Japan, huh.

Re: #52
Honestly, that part I'm jealous of.
56AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:15
If you've got complaints about school, just take it up with the school.
57AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:16
Re: #56
They set the school on fire too, you know.
58AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:16
Honestly, students in Japan should be raising their voices in anger too.

Re: #58
About what, exactly?
60AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:18
"Hire more teachers" — sure, I get that
"So let's burn cars and shops" — uh, what?
64AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:20
Re: #60
In Japan you're just not supposed to cause trouble for society, you know.
74AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:22
Re: #64
Even in France, if you're just an ordinary local and not one of the privileged elite, you wouldn't want your car or shop torched, right?

Re: #64
Arson's not okay in any country, come on.
61AnonymousOct 3, 2026 19:19

Re: #105
The protest really has turned into a fight between the poor, hasn't it.

Background and Key Points of This Story

Staff shortages and overcrowded classrooms have long been a recurring problem in French schools, and this round of protests reportedly began with frustration over class sizes of 40 students. What stands out is that a protest meant to demand better working conditions has escalated into arson targeting vehicles and shops, destruction of school facilities, and even assaults on the very teachers the protest was supposed to be supporting. On the thread, opinions clashed between those framing the violent turn as justified under a kind of revolutionary logic, and those arguing that arson and assault are never acceptable, in any country. It’s also been pointed out that the people getting hurt are ordinary local residents and teachers rather than the “privileged elite” — a detail easy to miss from the article alone, since it shows the protest isn’t simply a “citizens vs. power” standoff but one tangled up with friction inside the local community itself.
