Cosplayer Kano Tsuno Launches ‘Rental Deer Who Does Nothing’ — 5ch Reacts: ‘She’s Catching So Much Hate It’s Almost Sad’

The story

On November 6, cosplayer Kano Tsuno announced via a sub-account the launch of “Rental Deer Who Does Nothing,” a parody of the original “Rental Person Who Does Nothing” service. The fee matches the original — 10,000 yen plus expenses — and she said the idea came after venting to the original rental-person service the day before about being “worn down by online abuse.” On 5ch, commenters brought up her history of clashing with other cosplayers over her Marcille (from *Delicious in Dungeon*) cosplay and making remarks toward rights holders that drew criticism, and many questioned her motives and the risks of starting such a service.

Watching 'Russia Dismantled' on YouTube beats watching Peace-kun the deer (a famous mascot deer at Omiya Park) any day.
5AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:06
No one's actually worried — it'd be more entertaining if something did happen.
6AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:07
She's basically become the internet's public enemy number one — what did she even do?
She's catching so much hate it's almost sad.

Re: #6
Before the Expo, I remember she got criticized for basically treating Marcille as her own property after her first viral moment went to her head, and attacking other cosplayers who also cosplayed Marcille.
Seems like a lot has piled up over time, but since she never admits fault and just justifies herself, the number of critics kept growing.

Re: #6
Cosplay only exists because rights holders politely look the other way, but she acted like 'anything goes as long as nobody explicitly says no' — which is the one attitude guaranteed to make people hate you in that scene.
That's why she gets torn apart every time she does something now.

Re: #6
Because she made the unhinged ("atama okashii") claim that even though unauthorized cosplay only survives on rights holders politely looking the other way, she's actually doing the original creators (including the author) a favor — since a famous cosplayer wearing the costume brings attention and profit to the original work.
9AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:08
Oh, she's the one who got dragged online over the Marcille cosplay drama?
10AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:08
Is this the 'Little Deer Sauntering In, Lying in Wait Like a Tiger' person? (wordplay on her name, which uses the kanji for 'deer')
11AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:09
Guess she lives purely off controversy.
Does she even have a real job?

A 'Delicious in Dungeon' x 'Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen' collab was announced and launched immediately. Laios and company chase a dragon into an unknown world!?

Re: #12
They should've used the North American version of Marcille for that image instead.
14AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:11
So it's basically a bad-attitude version of 'Rent a Girlfriend'?
17AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:11
It'll be too late once something actually happens to someone.
She really should quit this.
19AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:13
It's basically that 'all-you-can-use' deal — instead of renting a room, you get unlimited access to her, right?
25AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:16
I read it but couldn't even tell how many people were involved.
Didn't make any sense to me.
28AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:23
Wait, what?
Is this like some 'time-stop' roleplay thing she specializes in?
30AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:25
She's the type who can only keep shaving pieces off herself, like a block of katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes).
31AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:26
Maybe the solution is renting her out and keeping her locked down somewhere during cosplay events — that'd keep the peace 🤔💡
32AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:26
Just having her there doing nothing sounds like actual torture, doesn't it?
33AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:26
She probably won't even show up at the client's place.
35AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:29
Re: #29
She got publicly lectured by a popular YouTuber once, but then that same YouTuber got arrested for some kind of sexual assault later — lol.
36AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:29
Didn't she say the original creator should be thanking cosplayers?
39AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:34
The actual 'Delicious in Dungeon' franchise is taking a ton of reputational damage from this.
40AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:35
Fans of that character must be pretty furious.
42AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:41
She's the one who said cosplayers hold the 'copyright' for rendering a 2D character in 3D (not a portrait-rights thing), making them co-copyright-holders with rights equal to the original author's — so they deserve the same respect as the creator.
43AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:47
I hate 'Delicious in Dungeon,' so honestly I'm rooting for Tsuno-san here.
44AnonymousNov 6, 2026 19:49
Sounds like a job that's incredibly stressful even though you don't actually do anything.
47AnonymousNov 6, 2026 20:00
If she'd just kept a low profile, people would've just been fawning over her — guess that wasn't enough for her?
48AnonymousNov 6, 2026 20:05
Wait, is the original 'Person Who Does Nothing' service even still a going concern?
49AnonymousNov 6, 2026 20:12
She's such a 'look-at-me' type, there's no way she can actually 'do nothing' lol.
She'll just latch onto the client and shake them down for a 10,000-yen bill.
50AnonymousNov 6, 2026 20:13
Isn't she basically already a NEET who does nothing anyway?
51AnonymousNov 6, 2026 20:20
The moment her name shows up in a web news article like this, she's already accomplished her goal —
she doesn't actually need to land any real customers.
59AnonymousNov 6, 2026 20:52

Re: #34
Also, I feel like she made another confused comment along the lines of 'it's not just fan-creators who owe respect to the original creator — the original creator should respect fan-creators too.' Or was that a different person?
86AnonymousNov 6, 2026 22:46
Re: #82
No, it's her.
'I'm amazing! I'm not freeloading off someone else's creation! I'm the one spreading the word for them, so they should respect me' — that's basically her whole mindset.
You might think that's shameless, but that's her logic from start to finish.

Background and Key Points of This Topic

“Rental Person Who Does Nothing” is a service Shoji Morimoto has been running since 2018, in which he simply sits with a client as requested — a concept shared by “Rental Deer Who Does Nothing.” The major difference is that Morimoto’s service is essentially free (clients cover only his travel costs), whereas Kano Tsuno’s version charges a fee (10,000 yen plus expenses). Her history of drawing criticism includes clashing with other cosplayers over her Marcille (from *Delicious in Dungeon*) cosplay, as well as remarks suggesting cosplayers hold rights equivalent to the original creator’s. On the thread, some speculated that announcing the service just one day after consulting the original service looked like a bid for attention. Note that the “likes/dislikes” ranking sites referenced are based on user submissions and carry no official authority.
