Monster Strike's operators still seem obsessed with the μ's fantasy

Guess it'll always be Love Live! = μ's and Aqours from here on out, too

There's no way a voice-actor-driven franchise like this can pull off a game collab…

And yet mighty Puzzle & Dragons managed to land a collab with Idolmaster…

It's not that they're obsessed with a fantasy—it's that outside the fandom, Love Live! just stopped at Sunshine!!
Seriously, as far as anyone outside is concerned, nothing after Sunshine!! exists

The Love Live! series basically ended with Sunshine!!

Thank god they still made the spin-offs—Nijigasaki, Hasunosora, and 'Ikizulive' (a snide pun on 生きづらい, 'hard to live,' aimed at one of the newer sub-series)

Is Monster Strike even still popular?

Winter means 'Snow halation,' summer means 'Mijuku DREAMER' (famous μ's and Aqours songs), I guess

Aqours isn't as widely known as μ's either, honestly
That's actually where the shift toward real-life ('3D') idol fandom started

I'm a Nijigasaki believer, but even so, I'm proud they got the collab

This collab only happened because Aqours cemented the road μ's paved
And what happened to the later series that hated the laid-out track and swerved off onto side roads?

9th anniversary and Nijigasaki still hasn't started a single campaign

People always say Aqours is 'half' of μ's
But the current active sub-series are only half of Aqours on top of that

Isn't 9 not even a special number for Nijigasaki to begin with?
If the lineup hadn't grown past the original members, doing something for a 9th anniversary would make sense—but now it's 12, or 13 if you count Yuu, right?

Love Live! = a franchise that's over as far as the general public's concerned

It's Aqours' ('water's') fault Nijigasaki gets treated so unfairly
Do you have any idea how many fans dropped out between μ's and 'dirty water' Aqours?

One live appearance probably pays the cast about ¥300,000 or so?
And the agency takes its cut out of that, of course

Different genre, but a strategy like this was never going to work for Love Live's own games
The fact that guest-starring in other people's collabs works better is proof of that

So Nijigasaki's just going to end without ever landing a single mobile game collab…

Even Granblue Fantasy had collabed with Aqours ('water'), you know

I wasn't even a Love Live fan back then, just a high schooler, but I dropped Sunshine!! after episode 3
The barely-anyone-shows-up-to-the-live storyline, then Chika's sister going 'Baka-Chika! You've got the time wrong!' followed by a slow trickle of cars finally showing up—that killed it for me
Years later I finally became a proper Love Live fan thanks to Nijigasaki's first season
μ's was amazing, but let's be honest: 'dirty water' [Aqours] took that legacy and burned through mainstream goodwill with a lousy anime
Though I'll give it credit—the tie-in with Numazu as a pilgrimage site did surpass the original series

Even counting the ones that already shut down, some of Aqours ('water') did collab in AiPla and YumeSute
And with a smaller cast, they actually pulled it off well

Maybe the people going on about Nijigasaki should've taken a hard look at their own game first
Back then KLab and Bushiroad still held the rights, so jumping to other companies' games was forbidden—only Aqours (plus μ's) may have been free to move

Revue Starlight's mobile game did a Sunshine!! collab too
When it comes to mobile games, seriously, only μ's and Aqours have ever landed a collab
Though if you count arcade games, there are a few outside those two

I kind of wish we'd gotten a timeline like AS, where the original unit clearly isn't treated as the 'final' one

There really are people out there who don't know Love Live! but still know 'the Niko-niko-nii girl' (Nico Yazawa's catchphrase)

Gakuen Idolmaster's regional resale prices are crashing everywhere too
That 'popularity' is looking pretty shaky

Idolmaster's current strongest is Gakuen Idolmaster, so obviously it counts

Gakuen Idolmaster is still near the top of the app rankings even now, but Love Live!…

Nobody's even heard of a movie that only made 200-300 million yen at the box office, and a collab with it would just be a nuisance—might as well serve up some soapy water

The song just went viral—it didn't actually do much for the franchise itself
