Nakai Masahiro’s Comeback Plans Stall as He Tries to Shake the ‘Quit Over Woman Trouble’ Image

The story

Masahiro Nakai is the entertainer who quit show business in 2025 over a scandal involving trouble with a woman. This latest report covers his day-to-day life — driving his dancer girlfriend around — and claims a plan for his showbiz comeback is in the works. In the 5ch thread discussing the women’s tabloid report, backlash against the comeback speculation itself clashed with the view that, since a settlement was reached, there should be nothing stopping him from resuming his career. The discussion also spilled into debate over confidentiality obligations in the third-party committee’s investigation and the circumstances surrounding the settlement.

“Right after he left the entertainment industry, reports said Nakai was holed up at home, but lately he’s apparently been going out a lot.

I hear he often acts as chauffeur for M, the dancer he’s been dating for years — driving her to work, shopping trips, that sort of thing.

Back in December 2025, a few tabloids caught the two of them visiting a department store together” (an acquaintance of Nakai’s)

He's a sex offender, right?
No way that flies.
71AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:43
Re: #4
TV's full of former criminals though.
Why's Nakai the one who's not allowed?
106AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:56
Re: #4
He was never even arrested, so calling him a sex offender is off-limits.
He falls into the "quit over woman trouble" category.
If he comes back, Nagisa Watanabe (the announcer involved) will kick up a fuss again.
Why not just bench both of them?

Re: #4
Look at soccer.
Plenty of sponsors line up for that.
5AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:18
How much do the tabloids have it out for this guy?
6AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:19
Downtown+ (the streaming show) is starting to feel like a lineup of guys who quit over "woman trouble."
47AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:34
Re: #6
Is there anyone besides Matsumoto on there like that?
7AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:20
"With the settlement reached, he will now be able to continue his entertainment career without any trouble going forward." (´・ω・`)
56AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:39
Re: #7
It's literally nothing but trouble lol
69AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:43
Re: #7
Whatever the facts actually were, that attitude of 'I paid a ton of money so we're even now' — including how Fuji TV handled it — is probably the single biggest reason trust collapsed this badly.
If he'd sincerely apologized and laid low for a while back then, he'd probably be back by now.
8AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:20
Another content-free Nakai article, huh.
Do they have a monthly quota for Nakai stories or something lol
9AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:20
If he shows up on Downtown+,
everyone's just going to think 'yep, figured he was that type after all.'
10AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:21
Nakai's legal team: "Mr. Nakai! A complete turnaround is absolutely possible! Even if it's a long fight, let's keep working with this team until we win! (heh heh)"
11AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:21
He's the one who bailed on his own (ケツを割る, slang for chickening out), so tough luck.
12AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:22
The usual women's tabloids again lol

Every single Nakai comeback story seems to trace back to a women's tabloid as the source.
14AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:22
No matter how hard he scrubs,
I don't think that stain is coming out.
15AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:23
"Trouble with a woman,"

they call it.

The media's stopped using the words "sexual violence."
16AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:23
I don't even know what he actually did — so what did he do?
17AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:23
"An acquaintance of Nakai's."
"Someone in the entertainment industry."
"Someone at a TV station."
18AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:23
Kyūichi (unclear exactly who this refers to) lent him a hand recently,
but no way.
He doesn't even have the chops to carry a solo stage show anyway.
64AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:42
Both Nakai and the female announcer (referred to as "A") signed settlements with confidentiality clauses, so now neither one can move an inch.
74AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:44
Re: #64
During the third-party committee's investigation, the woman agreed to waive her confidentiality obligation, but Nakai refused.
That says it all.
He's using the settlement's confidentiality clause to keep running from the truth.
79AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:46
Re: #64
Nagisa's out there moving plenty, though lol
66AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:42
He raped her, right? It just ended in a settlement.
Has any definitive proof come out that the rape claim was false?
78AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:45
Re: #66
And where's the proof the rape claim was true?
84AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:47
Re: #66
If you're going to argue it that way, you'd have to let Johnny Kitagawa off the hook too.
73AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:43
Yamaguchi started a solo version of DASH!! (the TV show 鉄腕DASH) on YouTube and it's doing decently well, so if Nakai did his own solo farming segment like on Kinsuma (金スマ), Tsurube or Hiromi would probably drop by now and then.
101AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:55
He's clearly got money, so why does he still want to work?
I plan to quit the moment I've saved enough and just lounge around at home for the rest of my life, so this is a world I can't understand.
If I were Nakai, losing my job would just make me go 'woo-hoo, freedom!'
110AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:58
Re: #101
He just wants his need for validation satisfied all the time, wants to be fawned over.
Not temporarily — for life.
112AnonymousOct 21, 2026 11:58
Re: #101
Well yeah, he gets to do what he loves and make a ton of money doing it.
120AnonymousOct 21, 2026 12:00
I think he should stop worrying about what people think and just work for his fans on YouTube or some members-only site.
Guess he really wants to get back on TV, huh.
127AnonymousOct 21, 2026 12:02
Re: #120
Exactly.
He's probably just not motivated to do that.
129AnonymousOct 21, 2026 12:03

Background and Key Points of This Topic

Masahiro Nakai left show business in 2025 over trouble involving a female announcer at Fuji TV. The matter was settled out of court and never led to an arrest or indictment, so the term “sex offender” used in the thread is not a legally established fact. At the same time, during the third-party committee’s investigation, the woman agreed to waive her confidentiality obligation while Nakai’s side did not — a point that has fueled criticism that he “hasn’t fulfilled his duty to explain himself.” The thread split between those who argue that, since a settlement was reached, there’s nothing wrong with him resuming his career, and those pushing back against comeback speculation running ahead of any proper apology or explanation. It’s also worth noting that the source jisin.jp article itself is really just about him being seen out with his girlfriend, and the more specific claim that his “comeback plans have stalled” is unconfirmed information based on tabloid reporting.
