Kimutaku's co-star was Matsu Takako, wasn't it

Re: #2
Huh? It was Tokiwa Kyoko.
3AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:15
Isn't this the story where he threw out all his games the next day?
Why isn't anyone bringing that part up?
5AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:16
No way you'd want to hang out in real life with some guy who's kissed your wife dozens of times on screen
67AnonymousOct 18, 2026 14:19
Re: #5
That's probably also why Kimutaku doesn't get along with Takaaki Ishibashi
7AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:18
I love the story about how Karasawa struck up a conversation about music with a total stranger sitting next to him at a bar, invited the guy home to keep drinking, and it turned out to be [boxer] Ace Shimizu — neither of them even knew who the other was
8AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:18
Jealousy, probably
If he welcomed the guy too warmly, the guy would just end up coming over constantly — no thanks
9AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:18
Maybe it's just how this is written, but I don't quite get the last part
12AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:23
Re: #9
I think it means he was jealous because Yamaguchi was all over Kimutaku in the drama, deep kisses and everything
10AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:21
That's actually a story Karasawa himself has told many times before.
11AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:22
I think this is actually why Karasawa had the drama's staff build him a little piece of furniture to hide his PS2
so Yamaguchi wouldn't find out
16AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:25
Re: #11
Didn't he have them make it with a wood-grain pattern? lol
13AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:23
Wasn't it an attack by some thug that's what ended up exposing her relationship with Karasawa in the first place
14AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:23
I get where Karasawa's coming from though
Could he really have brought home some gorgeous actress he was playing a love interest with, at a time like this?
36AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:49
Re: #14
Fair point
If he'd brought home some soft, sultry actress type…
17AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:27
Being told to get along with your wife's co-star sounds like a punishment game. Kimutaku seems like a tough personality, and Karasawa — knowing he's a bit difficult himself — probably just decided to keep his distance
24AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:37
Re: #17
Actually, Karasawa and Kimutaku had already co-starred before "Long Vacation," in the movie "Kimi wo Wasurenai" (I Won't Forget You)
18AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:28
If you've got time to play games, you could be reading a book or exercising instead.
Or at least resting your eyes.
Seems like a waste to spend that time on something that just tires your eyes out.
20AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:29
Their houses are only a 5-minute walk apart, but I bet he still drove over
22AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:34
Karasawa should go on Ariyoshi's "EEE" or something
Maybe Yamaguchi's the one stopping him lol
23AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:36
I'd love to hear Karasawa and Kimutaku's own side of this story too lol
25AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:37
Wasn't there also a story about him crushing some child actor at Street Fighter II and making them cry?
26AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:39
What's with that — Kimutaku calls him "senpai," but Karasawa just calls him "Kiyoshi"?
29AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:44
It's the Famicom story again, isn't it. How many times are we gonna do this one?
39AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:52
Toshiaki Karasawa was perfectly cast as the lead in the movie "20th Century Boys"
Not many actors could take on a world-saving hero role
and nail it that convincingly
44AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:56
Re: #39
Same goes for Occho and Yukiji — that whole casting was a miracle
45AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:58
Re: #39
His Zaizen role in "The White Tower" was great too — even better than Jiro Tamiya's
40AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:53
What are you even supposed to do when some young heartthrob who's been flirting with your wife on set shows up at your house
42AnonymousOct 18, 2026 13:56
From around that time
50AnonymousOct 18, 2026 14:01
Takuya Kimura's sparkle in Long Vacation is the greatest of any actor, ever
55AnonymousOct 18, 2026 14:02
Having peak-era Kimutaku brought into your house would be rough
Same if a woman had Nozomi Sasaki brought home
and her husband got all googly-eyed over her — she'd be pissed too
57AnonymousOct 18, 2026 14:03
Re: #55
Why Nozomi Sasaki specifically though

Background and Key Points of This Topic

“Long Vacation” was a Fuji TV drama that aired in 1996, starring Takuya Kimura and Tomoko Yamaguchi, and it became a nationwide hit with a peak rating above 30%. Toshiaki Karasawa is Yamaguchi’s husband but was not a co-star in the drama itself, and thread posters initially disagreed over who the episode even involved, mixing him up with co-stars from other shows such as Takako Matsu or Kyoko Tokiwa. The anecdote about Karasawa having a piece of furniture made to hide his game console ahead of Kimura’s visit is also already a well-known story that Karasawa himself has told on TV before, and it’s not possible to confirm from the broadcast excerpt alone whether that’s the same incident as the “totally lost it” episode Yamaguchi described this time. Readers should keep this in mind and distinguish between speculation on the thread and facts actually stated on the program.
