Juice=Juice’s Yua Kudo Makes Her Voice Acting Debut as Guest Star in Anime

Background and Key Points of the Discussion

Hello! Project members guest-starring in anime isn’t new, and this time too it was Yua Kudo’s radio announcement that set things off. What split opinion in the thread was the broader question of idols doing voice acting itself — welcoming comments and worries about backlash from dedicated voice-acting fans showed up side by side. The kind of concern raised in >>17 (“might get backlash”) is a recurring reaction on the Hello! Project board whenever an idol is cast as a voice actress — this isn’t the first time it’s come up. It’s also worth noting that she’s appearing as a “guest” voice actress rather than a main cast member; while some replies raise doubts about her acting ability, none address the possibility that her role may be limited in scope. Some pointed out that the anime itself isn’t drawing much attention, so the overall takeaway leans more toward this being a personal milestone for Yua Kudo than a comment on the show itself.
