The story
Rei Hozaki (27), who works as a model and actress, drew a reaction from fans after reporting that she watched the Kirin Cup Soccer 2026 final against New Zealand in person while wearing the Japan national team’s away jersey. What people said
Better than being called ugly, I'd guess.
She goes all the way abroad to watch soccer and shows up at national team matches constantly, so
she's probably got a boyfriend on the Japan squad, lol
Makes sense.
With looks like that, the odds are pretty high.
Meanwhile,
the baseball national team's uniform is getting trashed, lol
Oh, that Samurai Japan thing, lol
What is this, lol — is she on Nagisa Watanabe's level???
Background and Key Points of This Topic
The Kirin Cup Soccer is a tune-up match series hosted by the Japan Football Association, and the 2026 title marks Japan’s first win in 15 years. Note that the boyfriend speculation in the thread is purely individual posters’ guesswork, not anything confirmed by actual reporting. Much of the discussion also played on the popularity gap in “matchday fashion” between soccer and baseball, but that’s a recurring trope that gets trotted out repeatedly on 5ch, not a new point specific to this thread. While positive reactions stood out, there were also a fair number of skeptical voices about the hype itself — the response was not unanimous.
