The story
A thread on 5ch’s Hardware/Industry (Geha) board kicked off with a comment arguing that people should have bought the RTX 4060 GPU back when it could be had for around ¥40,000. Posters noted that resale/buyback prices for the card are still hovering in the ¥40,000 range, and the discussion branched into whether 8GB of VRAM is enough and how the price gap stacks up against higher-end models like the 5060, 5070 Ti, and 9060 XT. The conversation then drifted into console-vs-PC territory, with posters sharing Forza Horizon 6 screenshots to compare PS5 and PS6 performance.
😂 Forza Horizon 6 (2K, nearly Extreme settings, ray tracing OFF) — having a blast lmaooo

Just looking at this it's like a Shuto Expressway battle, but there's another highway below that with cars on it, and below THAT there's a regular coastal road with cars running on it too.
FH6 is on another level.
With DLSS 4.5, Frame Generation, and every other modern feature on top, ¥30,000 was an absolute steal.
You need all three — PC, phone, and console — to max out your point-farming ("poikatsu" reward-hunting) game, so of course they still have one, noob.
Isn't that just down to your settings?
If you're not hitting 100 fps in Tokyo City, there are FH6 settings that won't give you any trouble.
I kept getting out-of-memory errors, so I sold my 4060 and got a 9700. If the 4060 had 12GB of VRAM, I'd have stuck with it.
The 50-series costs way more and I don't need that much power anyway, so no thanks.
Coming from a 3060 Ti, the 4060 won't be enough of a step up — you'd want something like a 5070,
and that's double the price these days.
Before we even get to the PS5 version — the PS5 flat out doesn't have the specs for this lol
How much are they gonna downgrade it?
Not being able to run 4K should be embarrassing.
Can't even hit PS4 Pro level, huh.
I envy people who can actually enjoy them.
I usually just end up satisfied after confirming it runs buttery-smooth on max settings, and that's that.
The 5060 pulls 150W though.
If that's the case I'd just buy a 4070 lol
Even at native 4K, the PS5 Pro can't beat the 4060 lol

I want to ask if they even know what they're saying.
I can already picture the Geha uncles screaming 'It's too hot to game!'
Guess I'll just endure it 😇
It's more than enough, and unbeatable value for money.
For a few titles you can just dial the settings down a bit.
No matter what anyone says, isn't a true fan someone who keeps pushing 'this hardware is the best' and 'this exclusive is amazing'?
What's the point of giving up on it just because it's not selling and becoming a PC guy lol
Even back in the Wii U days, Nintendo kept releasing games right to the end, and the Nishi (Nintendo fanboys) kept defending it to the end.
If the Goki and Chika (PlayStation and Switch fanboys) can't do the same, then in the end you all were never cut out to carry the future of game consoles.
Latecomers just don't have what it takes, I guess.
What on earth are you even saying? Calm down.
That's so creepy my face just went blank.
People buy a PC because there's a game they want to play, you know?
Even the most hyped-up recent leak puts the PS6 at RX 7800 XT level — that's basically a 4070 with no DLSS or other extras.
Why are you setting the bar as high as a 5070 Ti? What's wrong with you lol
Background and Key Points of This Discussion
The RTX 4060 launched at around ¥60,000, but subsequent price drops and swings in the used market meant there was a window when it could be picked up for around ¥40,000. Rather than debating the purchase decision itself, the thread’s discussion mostly centered on whether 8GB of VRAM is sufficient and how the card’s value for money stacks up against successor/competing models like the 5060 and 9060 XT. “Geha,” as in the board’s name, is short for “game hardware,” and terms like “Goki” and “Nishi” that appear in the posts are conventional board slang referring to PlayStation and Nintendo supporters respectively — not attacks on real individuals. It’s also worth noting that the back-and-forth over PS6 performance is based on unofficial leaks rather than official announcements, so the actual specs have not been confirmed.
