It has emerged that some of Real Sociedad player Takefusa Kubo’s past posts on his official Instagram became unviewable as of October 15. According to the original article, soccer fans have been asking things like “Why?” and “Is this a sign of something?” On 5ch, some posters linked it to Kubo’s recent run of bench appearances in the league and predicted a winter transfer, while others noted that deleting club-related posts is a pattern sometimes seen among attention-grabbing players abroad. Still other replies spiraled into speculation about his private life and rumors of a falling-out, leaving the thread split.

Watching Osaka night-skyline videos on YouTube beats watching Piece-kun from Omiya Park any day (Piece-kun being Omiya Park's mascot character).

He probably just doesn't want people tracing the timeline.
And it lines up exactly with his slump, too.
9AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:44
No place for him at Sociedad, stuck on the bench for good.
Heading back to the J.League?
Welcome to Matsumoto.

Calling it a "transfer" is premature, the winter window's still a ways off.
Endo, Ito, and Kubo seriously need to be thinking hard about a winter move though.

Re: #13
Endo's completely fallen out of the team's plans now.
16AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:49
Deleting club-related posts is a classic move for attention-grabbing players abroad who've clashed with their manager or club.
18AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:50
If this turns out to be about an affair at a time like this, I'd honestly respect Kubo from the bottom of my heart.
19AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:50
Speaking of which, didn't people say the Mitoma couple got divorced after deleting their Instagram posts? What ever happened with that — are they even still in touch?
76AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:30
Re: #19
That was a joint post, so when his wife deleted it, Kaoru's copy vanished automatically too. She probably checked with him first — "okay if this disappears?" — but it wasn't really his call. The divorce talk was just people around them jumping to tacky conclusions and making noise.
20AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:51
No way he's going from a ¥900 million salary to the J.League.
23AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:52
Gets cut for lack of ability, then pulls an emo meltdown to signal he wants out lol ("menhera" = acting emotionally unstable for attention)
25AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:53
Endo's really getting the short end of the stick.
Squad's short-handed and he still got left off the Champions League roster, while an injured player got registered instead lol

Re: #25
Guess that just shows what kind of player he is.
32AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:56
Re: #25
It's basically shouting "stop clinging on already," which is kind of sad lol
He's probably been told the same thing to his face too.
26AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:53
So little playing time and he's still messing around on Instagram? Guess being written off is official now. ("Take" is Kubo's nickname)
27AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:53
He's so washed up he's probably just desperately trying to drum up some buzz.
28AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:54
Does Shimarin even have the sophistication to live abroad? (nickname for another player)
31AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:56
No way this is about divorce or some woman.
He's been benched for five straight matches and frozen out, so he's sulking and wiping posts tied to his club.
33AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:56
The same guy who said before the season that the squad needed reinforcements is the one who's now surplus to requirements. No wonder he's acting out.
37AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:58
He's just sulking, that's all.
Not exactly behavior you'd expect from a 25-year-old though.
38AnonymousOct 15, 2026 19:59
Main-chan just wants to live in England. (nickname for Kubo's partner)
40AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:00
A lot of players act like this when they're unhappy with their club.
Even if he does transfer, it'll probably have to be a step down in league level.
47AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:03
Was there something in there he didn't want Main-chan to see, so he wiped everything to cover it up?
50AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:05
Divorce, please and thank you.
Give us back Haruka-chan~
55AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:09
He's definitely made up his mind to transfer.
Staying as things are means wasting an entire year.
56AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:11
Is this him signaling that things were better back in the Imanol era? (former Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil)
60AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:16
Maybe he just got hacked by some pro hacking crew?
62AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:18
Oh, finally transferring? MLS?
64AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:19
He'd be better off dominating in some backwater league instead.
Not that we know if he'd actually dominate there.
65AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:20
Celtic, Stade de Reims, Sint-Truiden —
go wherever makes you happy.
66AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:21
In that friendly the other day, Uruguay was about to get a penalty, but Kubo pushed for a video review and Japan ended up winning the penalty instead. The guy called for the foul that time was his own Sociedad teammate — figured things would get awkward once he went back to the club.
67AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:23
At the end of the day, if you're not putting up goals and assists, this is what happens.
72AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:26
Is Main-chan coming back to me?
73AnonymousOct 15, 2026 20:28
TRANSFER
HEEEEEEEEEEERE WE GOOOOOO
Background and Key Points of This Discussion
Neither Kubo himself nor Real Sociedad has explained why the Instagram posts disappeared, so the “winter transfer” and “frustration over losing his starting spot” theories floating around the thread are purely 5ch speculation. Deleted social media posts by soccer players tend to generate buzz as potential signs of an upcoming transfer or friction with the club. The thread also brought up the case of Kaoru Mitoma, whose vanished posts once sparked divorce rumors — but as noted, that was simply the result of his wife deleting a joint post, not an actual rift. In this case too, only the bare fact that the posts disappeared has been confirmed; the reasons behind it remain unverified.
