The story
A thread went up on 5ch’s “Geisports Sokuho+” board about Uma Musume Pretty Derby getting its first pachislot machine. According to an article originating from Yahoo! News, the new machine, developed by Kyoraku, features a “training-type AT” — a bonus system built around the game’s horse-training mechanic. In the thread, posters debated the discomfort of turning horse racing into gambling hardware, countered by others pointing out that horse racing — and gacha games themselves — are already forms of gambling. The thread also covered the behind-the-scenes detail that developers got permission from each racehorse’s real-life owner individually, along with general opinions on Kyoraku as a machine maker.

Bit rich to complain about gambling when you're fine with the gacha business.
Horse racing's gambling too, lol
Namu Amida Butsu… (a Buddhist prayer for the dead) *presses palms together*
They made a slot machine based on Hissatsu Shigotonin (or was it Shiokinin) recently, and it was totally unpopular, lol
Because it's dogshit boring.
The Ultraman and Kamen Rider machines, yeah, those are Kyoraku.
Unit numbers aside, they do put out a few new models every year.
Saw it in a video on YouTube where a Kyoraku rep said so.
That's where they put the effort, lol
Maybe put some of that effort into raising the payout rate instead.
Love Live hasn't, right?
It's treated like an "important cultural property" — like Dragon Ball or Sazae-san (untouchable IP).
I mean, Zombie Land Saga got turned into a pachislot machine too.
KPE's the only one still standing.
KPE's (Konami's) "G1 Yushun Club" series is the famous one — it features real footage of famous horses.
For horses, it's Sansei.
Kyoraku's just a loud, garbage maker.
If it's a scenario-managed take on horse racing, it'll just turn into "makomako" (slang implying the races are scripted/predetermined), lol
Evangelion's survived on pachinko licensing money, so it's not a bad way to raise funds — just not with Kyoraku.
That came out like 20 years ago.
There's already a Winning Post machine out there.

Oricon uploaded a video of the Smart Slot Uma Musume announcement event to YouTube, and the developer says, "For every Uma Musume appearing in this machine, we explained things to the horse's owner individually and got their permission."
The ones that already showed up in Derby Stallion, Winning Post, and G1 Yushun Club should be fine.
They never showed up in G1 Yushun Club, so it looks like the owner turned Sammy down too.
Going by the PV, this one seems centered on the Special Week generation from season 1 of the anime, so that's not a worry this time. But down the line, if they ever do a Kitasan Black-generation edition, not being able to use the Satono line is going to sting.
I never play them so they all look the same to me.
Not being made by Kyoraku.
Traits of a boring pachislot machine:
・The base game has zero gameplay, it's just mindless button-mashing
・You can't hit a jackpot until you've ground through a fixed number of spins
・The jackpot presentation is almost always the same, no surprise at all
・Whether you chain into another jackpot gets decided by some opaque lottery you can't follow
・The conditions for a big payout look nearly impossible just from reading them
・You get very few spins per ¥1,000 (bad "ball retention")
Oguri Cap would work too though.
Uma Musume started out with just three — Special Week, Tokai Teio, and Silence Suzuka — so it's actually weirder that Suzuka got dropped from the main lineup.
Background and Key Points of This Discussion
The pachislot machine is being developed by Kyoraku Industry, with its main selling point billed as a “training-type AT” that mirrors the game’s own horse-training system. Among horse-racing-themed slot machines, KPE’s (Konami’s) “G1 Yushun Club” series is well known for its track record of featuring real footage of famous horses, and Sammy’s “Winning Post” line of machines was also cited as an existing example — with that history forming the benchmark posters used to judge Kyoraku. Another point of debate was the industry practice requiring individual permission from a horse’s owner before turning it into licensed content; the thread noted that while the lineup centers on first-season mainstays Special Week, Tokai Teio, and Silence Suzuka, how to handle horses from the Satono line or the Kitasan Black generation — which haven’t appeared in other makers’ machines — remains a concern for the future. It’s also worth noting opinions never fully converged, with discomfort over gambling use sitting alongside the counterpoint that horse racing and gacha games are both inherently gambling-adjacent to begin with.
