The official site revealed he had been scheduled to appear under his real name, “Seiya Ishikawa,” which fueled discussion alongside reports that he had left a live radio broadcast early the previous day due to feeling unwell. Oh man
so he really was still feeling sick after all…

There's a mysterious wave of popular comedians falling ill lately
8AnonymousOct 11, 2026 11:06
Flu's going around like crazy right now
14AnonymousOct 11, 2026 11:14
He skipped the Kanshasai (TV 'Thanksgiving' special) too — Trump Man was wearing the marathon bib number, so they must've known the lineup in advance

Re: #14
The back-and-forth between Trump Man and Seiya's Hanafuda Man (playing-card-themed costumed characters) is a running bit every time
so of course they'd have it ready

He said he didn't have a fever yet but something felt off, which is why he left the radio show — probably ran a fever after that, and if it's the flu or something he's stuck on the 5-day isolation rule
16AnonymousOct 11, 2026 11:19
Is he gonna be okay?
I kind of like Seiya, so I hope he doesn't end up like Okamura (comedian Yasushi Okamura, who took a long hiatus for depression)

Re: #16
I don't dislike Seiya

I like comedians who step up without complaining even when they're thrown a crazy request
I hate Horiken and Zun Iio, but
Seiya always steps forward and just does it without griping, so he's a model comedian

He's still young, but he's already sitting on the commentator panel on shows like Suiyou no Downtown (Wednesday Downtown), even though he's not exactly dropping hilarious one-liners. Meanwhile older guys like Minamikawa, Fujimon, Nadal, Takano, and Ogata are all sweating it out — is he untouchable or something?

He's an M-1 Grand Prix champion, so he outranks them

Re: #21
The heckling on Suiyou no Downtown is too loud, I'm not a fan
Trying to get laughs just by heckling from the sidelines feels wrong

Re: #1
He left the radio show early too.
No fever, but sweating buckets. Something's definitely off with his health.

Is it something mental, or is some serious illness progressing…

Re: #24 Re: #27
If it's not the flu that's going around, it could be early-onset male menopause (andropause). The earliest cases in men can start in their 30s.
Most cases hit in the late 40s, but men can get hot flashes too
your autonomic nervous system goes haywire and you lose the ability to regulate body temperature: suddenly boiling hot and drenched in sweat on a cold day, or shivering uncontrollably on a hot one
27AnonymousOct 11, 2026 11:40
The scary part is that he apparently had no fever
37AnonymousOct 11, 2026 11:51
They should just get that one AV actor to fill in for him

Makoto Nojima (aka 'Nojima Seiya')

This is dragging on
ever since he left that radio show
guess it wasn't just a passing thing after all
42AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:00
Leaving a live radio broadcast partway through means it must be pretty serious
44AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:01
Saito was also just 'feeling unwell' at first too

The baumkuchen guy?

Ugh, way too many celebrities are taking time off for 'health reasons' lately

Isn't it just a cold that clears up in a day or two?
50AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:04
Probably Wuhan COVID or the flu, right?
51AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:04
Neither guy in Shimofuri Myojo is funny anyway, don't even bother showing up
59AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:12
Re: #51
Soshina and Seiya are funny when they're on with Zakiyama and Hiroyuki Ariyoshi
They fully commit to being the butt of the joke, and even when they bomb up front, they still make it funny
52AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:05
If it were the flu or COVID, I think they'd just announce that
a test would confirm it right away, so it's probably neither
55AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:09
A bad case of sinusitis can make you feel awful even with just a low-grade fever, so it might be that.
58AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:10
If you've got time to go to a music festival, go practice baseball instead, Takaya
62AnonymousOct 11, 2026 12:19
Way to cause trouble for Trump Man

Re: #1
Losing the headliner from Fuji TV's flagship show's festival really hurts

Background and key points of this topic

“STAR Fes” was the first major live event spun off from Fuji TV’s music special “STAR,” held October 10–11 at Pia Arena MM in Kanagawa. The fact that his real name, “Seiya Ishikawa,” was officially stated in the cancellation announcement is a rare case — a comedian whose real identity is usually known only by his stage name being revealed through an official statement — and that’s part of why the thread reacted so strongly to the real name. Within the thread, guesses about the cause of his illness ranged from seasonal infections like flu and COVID-19 to menopause-like symptoms and stress, but all of these are purely personal speculation from thread posters — neither Seiya himself nor his agency has disclosed any diagnosis. It’s also been reported that he left a live radio broadcast early the day before due to feeling unwell, and many are treating this festival absence as an extension of that. What readers should be careful not to misunderstand is that all the guesses about his illness in the thread are unconfirmed speculation, not officially confirmed information.
