A thread went up on 5ch’s News VIP board for fans to watch and live-comment on a Sunday-morning anime together. Participants zeroed in on the fact that the new mid-boss in the Precure series, “Usonowaaru” (a name that puns on “uso,” meaning “lie”), apparently can’t transform into a human form, sparking comparisons to past villains and debate over whether “she’s sealed away, or she just never had that power to begin with.” Talk also turned to the show’s mascot-costume character and a Detective Conan-style inverted mystery structure, with one jab — “aren’t you embarrassed watching a cartoon at your age?” — met with sharp comebacks, keeping the whole thread lighthearted.

18AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:30
A Sunday morning that opens on a close-up of a nostril — some 'hanamaru' (the catchphrase meaning 'gold star,' punning on 'hana,' or nose) that is

And that's the moment the electric shock ran through Pochi-tan—!!

Another weird opening today too (ﾟ∀ﾟ)
33AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:34

Decchi just dropped some real talk on them
42AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:36
Quit talking nonsense and just go home already
44AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:36
Not being able to turn human seems like it might actually matter a lot
47AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:36
An adult going out and about with a stuffed animal looks kinda strange, mofu~ (a fluffy little speech tic)
49AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:37
It's the '90s, after all
An adult man having tea with a stuffed animal is pretty wild
50AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:37
Usonowaaru might be the most pathetic mid-boss ever
51AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:37
So which is it — is she sealed away so she can't turn human, or does she just not have the power to transform at all?
57AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:38
What a naggy stuffed animal, always running its mouth
61AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:39
Claims he's never watched it but knows who Makopyon is… suspicious
62AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:39
Knowing who Makopyon is already makes you suspicious, you realize?
63AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:39
Sugar cubes don't dissolve in iced tea, unlike with regular ice
66AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:40
Anna's only sharp at times like this, huh
67AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:40
Ah, so they're doing a Columbo-style inverted mystery here
70AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:41
Came all the way from far off, yet somehow already knew about the mascot costume
72AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:41
Some 'great detective' — doesn't even notice until he hears 'from far away'
74AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:41
Perverts really do get caught fast, huh (ﾟＡﾟ;)
75AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:41
Close, but no — he's just the culprit's ride
76AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:41
Funassyi, Chiba-kun — people from far away know those too, right?
80AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:43
Think up the answer yourself (´-ω-)
81AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:43

She sings, dances, and is colorful — I honestly can't tell Fullper and Fullpy apart
93AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:44
Who's that pose even for, lol
102AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:46
I want to brew up Mogu's nail grime and make them drink it (a saying meaning 'try to be a little more like them')
103AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:46
Why do they keep nerfing Hanninder episode after episode?
107AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:47
Hanninder's screen time is shorter than the transformation sequence
129AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:51
Hanninder's seriously strong today ( ･᷄ὢ･᷅ )

Re: #154
There's that bit of foreshadowing where Akechi showed zero reaction even to Kobayashi disguised as an adult — so if it's someone else, who could it be? Even the theory crowd is stumped
159AnonymousOct 11, 2026 08:58
You guys are grown adults, happily watching a toddler's cartoon on a Sunday morning?
Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?

Re: #159
One step of courage is the answer!

Background and Key Points of the Discussion
The Precure series is a transforming-heroine anime franchise from Toei Animation that has aired in the Sunday morning slot since 2004, swapping out its setting and cast every year. Each season features a weekly “boss villain” and “grunt” characters, and debating the merits of their strength and backstory is a time-honored pastime for viewers — the thread’s question of whether the inability to turn human means she’s “sealed” or simply lacks the power at all fits squarely into that tradition. The nod to Columbo-style inverted mysteries (a structure where the ending or culprit is revealed up front and the audience instead follows how they get caught) is a technique normally associated with live-action detective dramas, and the fact that it’s being used in a kids’ show appears to be part of what caught the commenters’ attention. It’s worth noting that the posts alone don’t specify the episode title or number, so this content is strictly an excerpt from live commentary posted on the day of the broadcast.
